The battlefield was still, Ravager's massive form frozen mid-step. Alyssia's heart thundered in her chest, her blade gripped tightly as her eyes darted across the clearing. Garrick, battered and bruised, tightened his stance beside her. Seraphina hovered over Kaelen's unconscious form, her hands trembling as she held up a fragile magical barrier.
But the voice…
It wasn't Kaelen's.
Intensely Deep, resonant, and laced with a menace that seemed to pierce the very air, the words echoed again, louder this time:
"Touch them, and you'll regret it."
The ground beneath Ravager cracked, splintering like fragile glass. The fissures widened, glowing with a faint, ominous light. A low rumble shook the battlefield, growing louder with each second until it became deafening.
Alyssia stepped back instinctively, her voice trembling as she whispered, "What… what is that?"
