Dinner was served.
Lenora and Drifus were on the table. But the count was yet to arrive so they hadn't started eating.
Magical lights, chandelier above and some waiters standing by.
The aroma of the food, particularly the beef was rather enticing. It wasn't just those stinky mutton chops for once. Pork ribs, sandwiches, rice, and a whole bunch of food that didn't seem to go together at first glance, at least by Lenora's standards. But she'd learned to just roll with it these days.
"I think he's doing this on purpose," Drifus said, picking up a plate. He used a tong to drag a large lobster to his plate. "And while it's fine if you want to entertain his bullshit, I've had enough."
"He's our host. It's only natural to wait."
"A good host would be early or at least on time," Drifus said. "That is common courtesy among nobility."
"You'd be surprised to know common sense isn't common at all," Lenora said, still not quite touching her plate.
