Chapter 3 - Awakening of the System: Alim's Path to Power

As Alim lay in bed, the weight of his father's harsh words pressed heavily on his chest. He clenched his fists, his knuckles whitening. "I'll prove him wrong," he muttered, eyes burning with determination. His mind raced, the anger and frustration within him spiraling faster, pushing him to the edge. He was tired of being seen as worthless.

Suddenly, a voice broke through his thoughts, cold, mechanical, yet oddly reassuring. "Hello, Alim. Your determination has awakened the system."

Alim bolted upright, his heart pounding. "W-who said that?!" He scanned the empty hospital room, panic creeping up his spine. But there was no one there.

"It is I, your system, here to assist you in unlocking your full potential," the voice continued smoothly, as if it had always been there, waiting for this moment.

Alim rubbed his eyes, disoriented. "System? What the hell is going on? I get struck by lightning, and now I'm hearing voices?"

The voice remained calm. "This is not a hallucination. I am a special entity designed to help you ascend beyond your limitations. I come with three modes to enhance your abilities and skills."

Alim's heart raced, his mind still trying to process what was happening. "Three modes? What is this, some kind of game?" He paused, taking a deep breath. "Fine, explain these modes."

"Mode One: Disintegrate. This allows you to disintegrate objects and absorb their essence to acquire their skills and knowledge.

Mode Two: Task Mode. You will be assigned tasks, and upon completion, you will gain skills or powers.

Mode Three: Evolution Mode. This mode enables you to evolve existing skills and abilities into stronger versions over time."

Alim's brain whirled with possibilities, but skepticism crept in. "This can't be real. If you're legit, prove it."

"As you wish," the system replied. "Initiating Disintegrate Mode for a test run. Please choose an object."

Before Alim could respond, a translucent interface materialized in front of him. Four panels floated in the air:

Host DetailsName: Alim KhanAge: 19Health: RecoveringAbilities: None (yet)Potential: AwakenedStatus: Mortal (Potential for Evolution)Skills: Empty Storage – Locked until Level 10Experience Bar: 0/100 (Level 1)

Alim blinked in disbelief. "Okay, so this is real," he murmured to himself, a mix of excitement and unease bubbling up inside him.

Just then, footsteps echoed down the hallway, approaching fast. "System, close!" Alim hissed, and the interface vanished instantly as the door creaked open.

Dr. Rohan entered, holding a medical folder. "Ah, you're awake! How are you feeling?"

Alim forced a smile, trying to act casual. "I'm okay, I guess. Just... a bit bored."

Rohan chuckled softly, clearly relieved. "Boredom is a good sign after everything you've been through. You know, you're lucky to be alive."

"Yeah, that's what everyone keeps saying," Alim muttered, the words ringing hollow. After a pause, he added, "Do you have any books? Something to pass the time?"

Rohan raised an eyebrow, a bit surprised. "Books, huh? Sure, I have a few here. You might find these interesting—they're connected to my work in Ayurvedic medicine and yoga." He handed Alim a small stack of books with a thoughtful smile.

Alim nodded, grateful for the distraction. As soon as Rohan left, he picked up the first book, Introduction to Ayurveda. The system immediately chimed in.

"Would you like to disintegrate this item?"

Alim's pulse quickened with excitement. "Yes," he whispered.

A progress bar appeared before him, ticking upward: 10%, 25%, 50%, 90%... ding! A notification flashed: You have acquired Ayurvedic Knowledge. Integrate now?

Alim's heart raced. "Yes, integrate," he whispered eagerly.

A flood of information washed over him, his mind filling with centuries-old knowledge about Ayurvedic medicine. His head throbbed slightly from the sudden influx of data.

"Whoa," Alim muttered, staring at the book. He now understood the basics of Ayurveda without having read a single word.

Fueled by curiosity, Alim grabbed the next book, Yoga and Its Healing Powers. Again, the system buzzed.

"Disintegrate this item?"

"Yes!" Alim responded eagerly, anticipation bubbling inside him.

The progress bar filled up quickly, and another notification blinked:

Skill Unlocked: Pranic Flow (Level 1)

Description: Pranic Flow allows the host to control the flow of internal energy, enabling faster recovery and enhanced vitality.

Alim's grin widened. "This is incredible."

The day flew by in a blur as Alim continued to disintegrate books and absorb their knowledge:

By the end of the day, Alim felt a strange mix of exhaustion and exhilaration. His system interface now displayed an array of newfound abilities, and his experience bar had crept slowly towards Level 2. Just yesterday, he had been aimless, weighed down by despair. Now, he had power—something real and tangible that could change his life.

But with power came responsibility. Alim knew he would have to be careful. His father's disdain, his cousin's betrayal, and now this mysterious system—everything seemed to be converging, aligning for something much bigger.

As the storm outside began to die down, inside, Alim's journey had only just begun.

System Notification:

As Alim marveled at the glowing panel, a thought crossed his mind. "This is just the beginning."

Before he could ponder further, footsteps echoed outside his door. "System, close," he ordered quietly. The interface vanished as Dr. Rohan entered the room.

"Alim, how are you feeling now?" Dr. Rohan asked, his voice filled with genuine concern.

Alim smiled. "I'm fine, Dr. Rohan. Actually, I've been learning a lot today."

Rohan looked surprised. "Learning? From the books I gave you?"

Alim nodded. "Yeah, Ayurvedic remedies, yoga techniques, herbal medicine... I've grasped quite a bit."

Rohan was taken aback. "Already? Those are advanced subjects."

Alim shrugged casually. "I guess I'm just a fast learner."

Dr. Rohan, still skeptical, decided to test him. "Alright, tell me something. Can you explain a basic Ayurvedic detox method?"

Without hesitation, Alim replied, "A mixture of warm water with turmeric, lemon, and ginger helps cleanse the digestive system and boost immunity. Adding Triphala can enhance the detox process."

Dr. Rohan's jaw dropped. "That's... that's correct. And you learned this today?"

Alim nodded. "Yes. And more."

As the evening drew to a close, Alim yawned, feeling the weight of the day. "Thanks for the books, Dr. Rohan. I think I'll rest now."

Dr. Rohan, still dazed by Alim's rapid progress, nodded slowly. "Yes, of course. Get some rest, Alim."

As Alim lay back, a smile tugged at the corners of his lips. "Thank you, Namewave," he whispered, closing his eyes as sleep overtook him.

Outside, Dr. Rohan stood by the door, still trying to process everything. "This boy... he's something else," he muttered, his mind racing. "I'll figure this out tomorrow."

Alim's journey had only just begun, and the road ahead was filled with limitless possibilities.
