Dr. Rohan gently knocked on Alim's door before stepping into the room. Alim, sitting up on his bed, looked up from the pile of books on his table. A warm smile spread across Dr. Rohan's face as he approached.
"Morning, Alim. How are you feeling today?"
Alim smiled back. "A lot better, doc."
"Good to hear." Rohan took a seat beside the bed, his tone becoming more serious. "I have some good news for you. You're going to be discharged soon—probably tomorrow. Have you thought about what you want to do once you're out?"
Alim's smile faded a little as he pondered the question. He hadn't planned much beyond getting better. His mind had been swirling with too many thoughts—his new abilities, the system he had gained, and the confusion surrounding everything. He looked up and met Dr. Rohan's gaze.
"Honestly, I haven't decided yet," Alim replied, his tone thoughtful. After a brief pause, a new thought sparked. "But before I leave, could you get me some books on acupuncture?"
Rohan raised an eyebrow. "Acupuncture?"
"Yeah," Alim nodded. "I was reading in one of the Ayurvedic texts that acupuncture can heal a lot of diseases. I thought it might be useful to learn about it."
Dr. Rohan looked genuinely surprised. "You're interested in acupuncture? That's... unexpected."
Alim shrugged casually. "I figured it could come in handy someday."
Rohan took a moment, then nodded. "Alright. I'll see what I can do." He turned towards Sana, who had been standing quietly by the door, taking notes.
"Sana, can you bring a few books on acupuncture from the library?" Dr. Rohan asked.
Sana gave a quick nod and disappeared out the door, returning after a few minutes with a stack of books. She placed them on Alim's bedside table and stepped back, watching quietly as Alim picked one up.
"You've really been diving into these studies," Rohan remarked, unable to hide his curiosity.
Alim smiled faintly but didn't respond, flipping through the pages of the book. He could feel both Dr. Rohan and Sana's eyes on him, their gazes slightly unnerving. Why are they watching me like that? he thought.
Trying to shake off his suspicion, Alim glanced down at the book again when suddenly, his system chimed in his mind, and a notification appeared:
New Items Available:
Golden EyeAcupuncture Mastery - All Diseases
Golden Eye? Alim wondered. He hesitated for a moment, then mentally accepted the item. A strange sensation tingled in his eyes. Instinctively, he turned his gaze towards Sana, who stood by the door.
To his absolute shock, it appeared as if Sana wasn't wearing any clothes.
Alim jumped in his bed, eyes wide. "What the—!"
Rohan and Sana both turned towards him, startled.
"What's wrong?" Rohan asked, confused by Alim's outburst.
Alim, still in shock, pointed toward Sana. "She... she's not dressed!"
Sana's face flushed red. She looked down at her clothes, completely confused. "What are you talking about?" she asked, her voice rising with embarrassment.
Rohan, however, burst into laughter, startling both of them. "Alim, calm down! Sana's not undressed. Her dress is just torn near her waist. That's probably what you saw."
Alim blinked, still trying to make sense of it. "No... I could see everything. There's no way that's just a small tear."
Rohan gestured towards Sana's waist. Sure enough, there was a small tear in her uniform, revealing a patch of skin. "Look, it's just a little rip. Relax."
Still unsure, Alim rubbed his eyes. As he looked again, Sana's uniform appeared normal, with only a slight tear at the waist, just as Rohan had said. Alim exhaled in relief, but his embarrassment was far from over.
Suddenly, the system's voice spoke in his mind, a teasing tone to it. "Congratulations! You've activated the Golden Eye. It allows you to see through things. When you rub your eyes, the ability turns on and off."
Alim's face reddened further as he realized what had happened. "Of course… I have an eye power now," he muttered to himself, mortified.
"Don't worry," the system added with a laugh. "It's not just for that. You can see through walls, objects, and even barriers. It's a handy skill."
Alim rubbed his temples, exasperated. Great. He glanced back at Sana and Rohan, who were watching him expectantly.
Dr. Rohan grinned. "It's alright, Alim. Just don't jump to conclusions so quickly next time."
Sana, still flustered, gave him a stern look. "Yeah, maybe think before you shout," she said, crossing her arms.
Alim laughed awkwardly, scratching his head. "Sorry... my mistake."
As the tension slowly dissipated, another notification appeared in Alim's mind:
System Notification: Knowledge Acquired: Acupuncture Mastery – Understanding of acupressure points and their application to cure various diseases.
Due to matching skills and knowledge in Ayurveda and Acupuncture, you have acquired complete mastery over both practices.
Alim blinked as his mind was suddenly flooded with detailed knowledge of acupuncture and Ayurveda. It was like a vast library of healing knowledge had opened up in his brain, and he now understood the intricate details of using pressure points to heal nearly any ailment.
He smiled inwardly. Now I have full mastery over both Ayurveda and Acupuncture? This system is something else.
Rohan and Sana exchanged a glance, curious about what Alim might be thinking, but completely unaware of the system's existence.
