Breeding houses aren't that easy to open.

If an ordinary high-level breeder tries to start a breeding house without a patent or a proprietary energy cube formula, it's nearly impossible to succeed.

While people might ask for help taking care of their Pokémon, that alone doesn't generate much income. The real profits come from selling energy cubes.

Without an original formula, breeders can only rely on market-available or public formulas. Most of these have already been extensively researched, and even if you produce them, the market is already saturated. Prices are extremely low, and large energy cube companies dominate by leveraging economies of scale.

For public formulas, it's often cheaper for customers to buy directly from the market instead of from you. Why not just purchase energy cubes and feed them to Pokémon rather than go through you?

After a month of operating a breeding house, just covering costs with Pokémon care alone becomes a serious challenge.

So, how could Isla and her team make money by working in a breeding house?

In half a month, Isla and her team had already earned significant profits. Making a million in a month was no longer a dream for them.

The three teammates realized this and concluded that working under Evan would be far more profitable than trying to run a breeding house on their own.

When Evan suggested they save money and eventually open a breeding house, they dismissed the idea for now. Following Evan's lead seemed to promise much greater rewards.

With their earnings secured, the three happily returned to studying.

As they left, Evan remarked, "If you don't feel like studying, you can always go shopping. Think of it as a little holiday."

The three nodded but showed no interest in shopping. Instead, they doubled down on their studies, determined to master energy cube creation. To them, learning more meant earning more in the future. Shopping seemed like a waste of time and money.

Evan didn't mind their decision. After setting up a schedule, he headed to the open area near the breeding house.

As expected, a group of Pokémon had gathered. Many had come after hearing Pidgey's call, eager to participate in the battle for a chance to earn food.

The scene attracted the children from the orphanage, who watched in awe. Their eyes sparkled as they observed wild Pokémon they'd never seen before.

There was a noticeable number of Tauros among the gathered Pokémon. Most were common species, but the Nidorina, Nidoking, Seviper, and Zangoose stood out.

These Pokémon, however, stayed isolated. Their fierce reputations made them unpopular with others.

The battles soon began. Charmeleon and Pikachu teamed up against the wild Pokémon, while Gardevoir and Gallade stood guard over the energy cubes to prevent theft.

The intimidating aura exuded by Gardevoir and Gallade caused several wild Pokémon to tremble and even flee the area. The two Pokémon's presence was overwhelming for the timid ones.

Watching the scene, Evan shook his head but felt relieved the battles were underway. He turned his attention to the wild Pokémon, scanning for any that caught his interest.

Unfortunately, none of them stood out. They were either too common or lacked the practical traits Evan sought.

Disappointed, he refocused on the battlefield, where Pikachu and Charmeleon faced off against two wild Beedrills.

These Beedrills weren't from the mountain behind the breeding house, where the Pokémon were better acquainted with Evan and his team. These wild Beedrills were far more aggressive.

The Beedrills flew at high speed, their spears ready as they searched for an opening to attack Pikachu and Charmeleon.

It was a doubles battle. Wild Pokémon rarely employed strategies, relying instead on instinct and brute force. When they saw an opportunity, they would strike decisively.

After circling for some time, the Beedrills finally attacked.

They unleashed a perfectly synchronized Pin Missile, targeting Pikachu and Charmeleon.

The two Pokémon dodged by leaping left and right, then immediately charged forward at incredible speed.

"Pika-pika!" Pikachu cried.

Charmeleon growled, ready for action.

Using Thunder Punch and Fire Punch, Pikachu and Charmeleon delivered powerful blows to the Beedrills, who had no time to counter. Sparks and flames erupted as their attacks landed with force.

Seeing this, the Beedrills raised their spears defensively, trying to block the attacks.

Observing the battle, Evan nodded in approval.

"These two little guys have a solid understanding," he muttered, watching Pikachu and Charmeleon coordinate their attacks seamlessly.

Just as Evan was engrossed in the battle, Violet approached from a distance.

When she had stopped by the breeding house earlier, she'd been told Evan was here. Hearing the sounds of battle nearby, she followed the noise.

Upon arriving, Violet was stunned by the scene before her.

What's going on? So many wild Pokémon gathered here? Are they causing trouble?

However, she quickly noticed a group of children cheering excitedly.

"Come on, Pikachu!" one shouted.

"Use Thunder quickly!"

"Charmander, use Dragon Rush!"

"Idiot, that's Charmeleon now!" another corrected.

"Charmeleon doesn't know Dragon Rush, either!"

"Stop yelling and don't give orders!"

The children's chatter was nonstop, leaving Violet momentarily speechless.

Her gaze shifted to Evan, who was calmly watching the battle like it was a show. Shaking her head, Violet stepped forward decisively.

"What are you doing?" she asked. "Bullying wild Pokémon? That's illegal, you know!"

Hearing Violet's familiar voice, Evan turned toward her and smiled.

"I'm not bullying anyone," he said. "I'm letting my Pokémon establish dominance as leaders. Lately, more wild Pokémon have been invading my orchard, so I'm training mine to keep them in check. If I can get these wild Pokémon to follow my Pokémon's lead, they'll keep others from causing trouble."

Violet blinked, processing his explanation.

"You mean... you're training wild Pokémon to work for you for free?" she asked, incredulous.

"Exactly."

Violet couldn't help but grin. "As expected of you, Evan. A genius idea."

Letting the matter slide, Violet changed the subject. "Anyway, my second team is ready. I came here today to hand them over to you."

Evan's face lit up with excitement. "Really? Let's head back to the breeding house and talk!"

Before leaving, Evan turned to Gardevoir and Gallade.

"Gardevoir, Gallade, keep an eye on these wild Pokémon. Don't let them disrupt the battle."

The two Pokémon nodded in unison, their disciplined demeanor showing they understood perfectly.

Satisfied, Evan began walking back with Violet. As they made their way, curiosity got the better of him.

"So, what's the focus of your second team?" he asked. "Are you specializing in one type again, or...?"

Violet smiled, ready to explain.

"The second echelon? I'm not specializing in any one type this time."
