"Psycho bitch! I'll get back at you! I swear!"
He shouted as soon as security took him away. They thanked her for helping them catch the thief. It was done as quietly as possible, so she went back to her hospital room to wait for her mom to come pick her up. She felt better and was recovering well.
Just as she sat back down and made herself comfortable on the bed, her mother came back in.
"Hey, you're sitting up already." She walked in, face full of smiles. Sirena saw that the woman was beautiful, so it was no surprise that she would have such a beautiful daughter.
"Yes mum."
"I'm glad. Let's go now, let me take you home to rest. I guess you'll go back to school when you recover."
"So mom, do I have any change of clothes at home or something?"
Sirena enquired, since they said she flew straight from school.
"Don't you remember anything? Everything is at home."
Her reply shocked Sirena. She must've taken the majority of her belongings to school, right so why were they back home with her?
"Why?"
"Because it's where you live. You're confusing me."
"But for school, didn't I pack?"
"You're acting strange. I think the accident affected your head. Let me call the doctor."
That's when Sirena realized that she was exposing herself, so she stopped. She didn't want her mother to be suspicious of her, so she had to figure out everything herself, or go with the flow.
"No wait. It's okay mom, let's just go home. I need more rest, plus I'll feel better in a familiar environment."
"Alright, I thought so too."
She eventually left the four walls of the hospital that she had been in for two days, and she realized that she was in an unfamiliar city.
A car was waiting for them with a driver, so they got in. "Yup, Sirena was definitely rich" She thought to herself.
She had no idea where she was, and she knew that she couldn't ask, so she decided to wait till she got a hand on Sirena's phone.
"Mom, have you seen my phone?"
She inquired.
"No sweetie. We lost it during your transfer to the hospital. I'm sorry, I'll get you a new one later. You can use mine if you want to call your brother."
Sirena was shocked. She had a brother? How many more siblings did she have, and why.
"Hey, Angel! Angel. You're there, right?"
She whispered, beckoning on the Ai to reply to her from her consciousness as always. She was getting used to her new reality.
"What?" The robotic voice replied.
"How many siblings do I have?" Sirena had to whisper so her mom wouldn't hear her.
"You're improving, finally understanding your new reality, but you'll have to find that out yourself."
"Why? I thought you were here to help."
"Well, if I make everything easy for you, you'll be so bored. This is a new adventure, so let your mom take you home and find out. Don't forget to purchase a skill before twenty four hours! Bye!"
Sirena rolled her eyes. So she was all alone now. The anxiety was already eating her up at the thought that she had no idea what Sirena was like, so how was she going to act like her without getting others suspicious of her? Her mom already thought she was acting crazy.
She was going to make sure to leave home quickly and go back to college so she won't have to deal with them noticing the change.
She wondered what happened to her new body, and the accident, so she asked her mom. She was sitting at the backseat of the car, and her mom was beside her while a chauffeur drove in the driver's seat.
"Mom, what happened? What caused the accident?"
"Oh, that. Don't worry about it sweetie. Don't let it bother you much."
"It's not at all. I'm just wondering."
"Focus on other things. At least you're better now."
She noticed that her mom was acting strange and it didn't sit quite well with her. Why was she refusing to tell her what happened?
This was another wonder that lingered in Sirena's mind.
After dutifully looking at sign boards and posters for clues, she realized that she was in two cities away from where she lived in her past life. She smiled, knowing that she was making progress.
She checked the dates and all, and she was in the same times, so her husband and sister were definitely having the time of their lives while everyone was mourning her past self.
Wth her new powers, she would work towards making them pay. It was all she thought about for so long that angel had to give her a pep talk.
"Stop overthinking it for now. Your third task is getting prepared, so ease your mind and relax. This task may or may not level you up. Another reminder to purchase a skill, you have twenty two hours left. I'm here if you need me."
"Go away. I'm mad at you." Sirena replied, sulking.
"That's good. Its one of your traits as a siren. Be mad."
"You're so mean."
"I see you don't need my help then."
"Yeah, bye."
At least, Sirena would get to finally stop whispering. Her mom was fully engrossed in her phone the whole trip to have even realize.
She had to admit, even though she lived in a mansion in her last life with her cheating husband, it definitely wasn't as big as the one they were driving into. Apparently, she was part of this?
She squealed internally and could barely stop smiling. The house was pretty modern but still had ancient vibes. Even the flowers looked pretty. She couldn't wait to get in so she came right out and ran inside to sight see.
Just before she could be excited about the living room, an old man approached her and pulled her in for a hug, before she could even see his face.
"I wanted to come visit you but your mom said there was no need for that. I'm glad you're okay my princess."
Breaking away from the hug, she looked at him. It was obvious that he was her supposed dad so she forced out a weak smile, avoiding overreacting because she wasn't sure what the real Sirena would have done in such a situation.
"Yeah. I just want to rest now dad."
"As you should. Call Amelia to guide you up. I still don't believe you're strong enough to help yourself up." With that, he walked away. Her mom brushed past her immediately and left as well.
Sirena was left with one question.
"Who the hell is Amelia?" She asked herself.
"Amelia's the housekeeper. You'll find her in the kitchen, and its by your right, so go in and call her. Be careful, she kind of hates your guts."
"Oh, so now you can answer." Sirena replied snarkily, but the ai wasn't having it.
"Bye."
"No, wait! Thanks, but why does she hate me?"
"You'll find out soon enough."
"Wait, what?"
