Chereads / Overlord’s Harem Guide / Chapter 24 - The special place

Chapter 24 - The special place

The outer area of the academy castle, the garden area, was a large place divided into nine different parts.

Six of them were especially there to enjoy a specific season, while the other three were special places. One had an eternal night and aurora, another one with a pink sunset, and the last and my favorite...

"Welcome to the endless guardian of dawn," I announced as the surrounding blue light faded away.

We had walked around the outer area before teleporting to this place at the right time.

It was still dark before, but the sun had now risen over the horizon.

'This was a mountain peak and few knew about this special place.'

Before us was a garden that I loved and a place holding a deep connection with the whole of the academy.

"A valley of flowers…"

A valley that had every single medical herb or rare herb of magical properties existing throughout all nine realms, a personal garden of mine and also a place dear to my heart.

This was a sanctuary for those who had achieved everything in their lives and those that hold special greed for all the things present here.

Though this entire mountain was special, this time and place were best for two good reasons.

But, only one was our goal for today.

"Wow…"

She walked forward, absentminded and speechless by the spectacle before her eyes.

An endless valley of flowers, herbs, and small plants, small trees and if looked further, a forest accommodating a world full of tree lives.

There were some trees here as well, but they were not very large or were so far away that… They simply looked cute.

It was dawn, the earliest morning when the sun rises from the horizon and continues to rise above the mountain range present on the other end of the castle.

From this very point though, the scene you can see was more than enough to make your day eventful.

"Rian..." she wanted to exclaim my name but simply watched the large yellow sun rising from the horizon.

The early rays of the sun were painting the dark, endless plains of this valley at a distance.

The radiant colors of flowers were shining in the spreading river of light.

This scene was so amazing that it couldn't be described in mere words.

This was a special place and you could see the horizon as if you were in the sky itself. If you look down from the cliff, there was a sea of clouds present, actually.

'We were on a high ground, so high that either teleporting, flying, or falling from an even higher sky were the only ways to get here.'

This place was also a treasure trove.

Treasure of nature and beauty that few places around the world could be compared to.

"I'm glad you like it."

Sunsets were beautiful too, but this place was different.

A rising sun signified the rise of a being that was so persistent that even after falling every single day, it would rise and enlighten the world with its eternal light once again.

'I was here to start life anew. And though unexpected, she was here to start the life she wanted to achieve, the dreams she held so dearly to her heart.'

Taking her eyes away from this spectacular thing with much difficulty after a while, she questioned for the first time while looking deep into my eyes.

"Why?"

This one word question contained many of the questions bubbling in her heart. Just looking at those pretty eyes was enough to hear them directly.

This gorgeous scenery.

This endless flower field.

Those holes in the ground and the endless sky in the distance.

Magnificent trees that seemed the work of Old magic.

Small creatures covering the areas before us.

All these pretty things... So why her?

'She was asking why I chose her to be the one to be here with me… even though she knew the answer to that question already.'

She was now thinking if she was even qualified to be at such a divine place that couldn't even be compared to the heavens.

Well…

There was no doubt in my eyes as a response to all those questions of hers, and only a few words were needed to answer her many questions and calm her chaotic heart.

"You are special," I gave her a warm smile.

A smile as warm as that rising sun on the endless horizon as it was reflected in her daring eyes.

'She was special indeed.'

Even if other beings join my small family later, she will hold a special meaning to me not just because she was my first partner, but also because of who she was.

There were tears in her cute eyes but she was smiling after that answer with the same smile that made me like her so much.

'A warm, genuine smile of love.'

She had every right to see this place.

Every qualified person had and if you were strong enough to come here at this specific time, you definitely would not miss the chance to see this one spectacle.

"Thanks."

She walked back to me and... kissed me, forgetting this mesmerizing thing that would be impossible for any powerful person to resist.

She was happy this time, and her warm touch showed it.

'Not taking the lead as she usually did, she just stood there with our lips touched. She was offering herself to me completely…'

It was explainable why she was happy.

This place was just that. Somewhere you come to start a new point in your life.

'Seeing this scene for the first time as a mortal was something very few entities could resist as I mentioned earlier… Just like that old grandpa who was watching us for quite a while, it's not remotely easy.'

Well, she was more important than him, so I embraced her and granted her the kiss she so much desired.

This was a special place and few knew of its existence, aside from some really special people in the academy and the world that is.

And we were the first and fastest people to be here today.

Even while using teleportation, without knowing the exact current celestial coordinates, no one could directly come here like me.

We were first, this grandpa was later than us, and there were many on their way here.

It was going to become crowded soon, so I had to calm this needy succubus faster than she wanted.

"Mmmmm!"

So, after a deep, warm battle of tongues, she was back to normal, though still not satisfied.

"We aren't alone, dear. So..." I warned when she was going again, and she flinched, remembering the place we were in was indeed special.

And when she saw my eyes that looked not at her but at something else, with an embarrassed face, she backed down and hid behind me.

"Hello~. Hohoho. To think you already knew I was here~." with an old, deep voice that was filled with wisdom, someone walked out of nothing.

Like literally…

He just appeared before us and made her eyes widen even more. But the surprise was small till that point.

"Greetings, headmaster Nova." I greeted the unknown old man with a respectful bow, deepening Zo's surprise further.

Though I 'was' the supreme overlord of this world, the place where I stood right now was a school.

An academy I wished to make, but one I had no authority over as a prospective student.

'I was just someone that wanted to be a student here and, if I can't even follow the basic rules, I was not the person that once ruled this world.'

This place will soon become a gathering spot for those who will hold great importance in the world.

She should be close to them in terms of skills, but luck was also something that played a part in this procedure.

If she had known of this place's existence, I had no doubt she could have reached it by herself.

But that wasn't the question right now.

"H-headmaster?!" she thoughtlessly shouted at the old man with a strong build that didn't fall to any strong martial artist, knight, or someone with superior physical strength.

With pure white hair and a beard that looked like a wise wizard's, he smiled as he smiled at my shocked succubus.

"Hohoho. Zora. How long has it been? Look at you~. The little girl has become such a beautiful young lady," he greeted her just like he greets all the other children.

He was the headmaster, so he naturally knew everyone that had been to this academy in the last nine hundred years.

This person was someone that rose from nothing under Molly herself.

The first student of the monarch of the first higher plane, [Zero Reality]. Someone that had earned the title of [First constellation] and someone that held the strength to last for hours against the twelve monarchs (One by one, on good days).

He was special in most ways, and I knew he already knew who I was. So… I wondered how he'd react after seeing me being here.
