The air crackled with tension, Finn and Jake now fully merged into their combined form, Finn-Jake, a hulking warrior composed of Finn's skill and Jake's elastic, indestructible body. Their eyes gleamed with determination as they faced Sage Blank, who hovered calmly in the distance, his ever-glowing quill in hand. Finn-Jake stood taller and more powerful than ever before, their new form practically radiating energy.
"Alright, Finn. Let's show this guy what we're made of!" Jake's voice boomed through their combined form, filling Finn with confidence.
Finn grinned, gripping his sword tightly. "You bet! Time to crank this up!"
With a single, synchronized motion, Finn-Jake lunged forward, the earth quaking beneath their feet. They crossed the distance in a blink, their glowing sword aimed straight for Sage Blank's core. As they closed in, the landscape around them seemed to blur from the sheer speed of their approach.
But Sage didn't move. He remained calm, his quill raised ever so slightly. At the last second, just before Finn-Jake's blade struck, Sage sidestepped with an almost leisurely grace, his movements fluid and controlled. The ground where he had stood exploded as Finn-Jake's sword connected with the earth, sending debris and dirt flying into the air.
"That was just the warm-up!" Finn-Jake bellowed, spinning around instantly to deliver another strike.
The two friends coordinated perfectly, Finn's battle instincts and Jake's flexibility allowed them to move in ways no ordinary warrior could. They leaped high into the air, the sword crackling with energy as they brought it down with incredible force. The wind around them howled as their strike cleaved through the air, the sheer pressure of their movements tearing through the landscape.
Sage raised his quill again, and this time, instead of deflecting the attack from a distance, he met them head-on. With a swift motion, his quill clashed against their sword, creating a blinding shockwave that rippled across the sky. The force of the impact sent tremors across the Land of Ooo, shaking trees, hills, and even distant mountains.
"Whoa, this guy's no joke!" Jake's voice echoed in Finn-Jake's mind, a note of awe slipping in.
Finn, however, was unfazed. "We're not done yet! Push harder!"
They clashed again, and again, each time the impact sending shockwaves that echoed for kilometers. Sage's quill moved with surgical precision, blocking and parrying every strike Finn-Jake delivered. Though Sage held back, there was an undeniable acknowledgment in his movements. For the second time, he wasn't simply using his reality-warping powers, he was engaging them in close combat.
Their battle spanned miles, the once-peaceful fields of Ooo turned into a battleground of epic proportions. As they fought, Finn-Jake's attacks became even more intense. Finn spun and slashed with his sword, while Jake's elastic body allowed them to stretch and strike from impossible angles. They were relentless, pressing Sage Blank at every opportunity, determined to break through his defenses.
"You're fast," Finn-Jake said, grinning through their panting breath, "but we're faster!"
Finn-Jake twisted their form mid-air, sending a barrage of strikes from every direction. The landscape around them split open as each swing of their sword unleashed waves of destructive energy, carving canyons into the ground and ripping through the sky. Sage blocked them all with his quill, the power of each clash shaking the very fabric of Ooo.
For the first time, Sage Blank's movements became more deliberate. He flicked his wrist, his quill glowing brighter as he struck back. Finn-Jake barely managed to dodge the return blow, but even then, the air around them distorted from Sage's power. They skidded across the ground, carving a deep trench into the earth.
"We've got to keep moving!" Jake said, his voice laced with urgency.
Finn nodded. "Right, no time to waste!"
They surged forward again, faster than ever. This time, they feinted left before spinning and delivering a powerful strike from the right. Sage dodged, but just barely. Finn-Jake pressed their advantage, swinging their sword with a ferocity that belied their exhaustion. Each time Sage parried or blocked, the shockwaves grew larger, the air itself trembling under the weight of their battle.
At one point, Sage flicked his quill, and the space around them collapsed inward. Finn-Jake's vision warped as they were momentarily pulled into a pocket of distorted reality. But they fought back, Jake's elastic body stretching out, pulling them free from the spatial trap.
"You think a little space-bending is gonna stop us?" Finn-Jake taunted, their confidence surging.
Sage said nothing, but for the first time, his quill crackled with more intensity. He began moving more quickly, meeting Finn-Jake's every strike with perfect precision. The battle, though incredibly one-sided in reality, had become a spectacle of raw power and skill.
Finn-Jake lunged, swinging their sword in a wide arc, but Sage Blank caught the blade between two fingers. For a moment, the world seemed to freeze as Sage held the sword still. His faceless form tilted slightly, as if contemplating their efforts.
"Why is he just standing there?!" Jake growled in frustration.
"He's toying with us," Finn muttered, glaring at their unmoved opponent.
Sage then released the blade and, with a single step forward, struck with his quill. The movement was deceptively simple, but the force behind it sent Finn-Jake reeling backward. They crashed into the ground with a thunderous impact, the earth beneath them shattering.
"That was insane," Jake groaned as they struggled to stand.
Finn wiped the sweat from his brow, his grip tightening on the sword. "He's not playing around anymore."
Just as they prepared to charge again, Sage Blank raised his quill high, the air around them humming with power. With a single motion, he summoned every sword Finn had ever wielded. From the Demon Blood Sword to the Finn Sword, and even blades he hadn't touched in years, they all materialized in mid-air, circling around Sage like a storm of blades.
"Is he-" Jake began, but Finn's voice cut in.
"He's gonna use them against us!"
Before they could react, the swords came crashing down. Finn-Jake dodged and weaved through the onslaught, but the sheer number of blades overwhelmed them. Each sword glowed with a dangerous energy, their edges sharp enough to slice through the very air.
Sage moved his quill like a conductor, commanding the blades to form a prison around Finn-Jake. The swords encircled them, forming an intricate web of steel, each blade locking into place to create a cage that shimmered with power. The prison tightened around them, cutting off their movements completely.
"Finn… this doesn't look good," Jake said, his voice full of worry.
Finn struggled against the prison, but it was no use. "We can't break free. He's too strong."
Sage Blank hovered above them, his quill glowing brighter than ever. With a final flick, the prison sealed itself completely, trapping Finn and Jake inside an unbreakable dome of swords.
"You fought well," Sage's voice echoed through the air, cold and emotionless. "But your time has ended."
The void opened beneath Finn-Jake, a swirling portal of nothingness that beckoned them in. The prison, along with its captives, was pulled into the void, joining the others who had already fallen, Ben Tennyson, Gumball, Darwin, and the Ice King.
As Finn and Jake were dragged into the swirling darkness, their combined form began to unravel. The last thing they saw was Sage Blank's glowing form, watching silently as they disappeared into the endless void.
