The streets of Gotham trembled under the weight of the battle as the Justice League arrived in a blur of motion. Superman, Wonder Woman, and The Flash, each ready to engage with the mysterious being threatening Plastic Man. Batman, perched atop a nearby building, observed Sage Blank with keen interest, already assessing every possible strategy.
Plastic Man, still contorted into an unnatural shape, strained against the invisible force Sage was using to bind him. "Little help here, guys?!" he shouted, his voice strained as his body twisted into uncomfortable knots.
Superman landed beside him in a blur of red and blue, his eyes narrowing as he scanned Sage Blank with his x-ray vision. "Hold on, Plas," Superman said, his voice calm but firm. "We'll get you out of this."
Sage Blank, floating calmly above the ground, tilted his head slightly, observing the arrival of these new challengers. His quill glowed faintly in his hand as if acknowledging their presence was a mere formality.
"You've overstayed your welcome," Wonder Woman said, her lasso of truth shimmering in the dim light of Gotham. She raised her sword, her warrior instincts on high alert. "Release him, or face us."
Sage didn't respond. Instead, with a subtle flick of his quill, the force binding Plastic Man tightened even further, compressing him until he was no more than a tightly coiled ball of rubbery mass. Plastic Man let out a muffled groan, his usual humor drained by the severity of the situation.
The Flash zipped forward, his voice a blur of motion. "I don't know who you are, but we don't take kindly to freaky glowing guys in Gotham!"
The speedster moved at blinding speeds, aiming to land a series of rapid punches on Sage. But just as his fist neared Sage's glowing form, time seemed to slow down. The Flash, moving at the speed of light, felt his body come to a complete halt as Sage raised his quill, twisting the very fabric of reality around him. The world froze mid-motion, The Flash suspended in mid-air, his fist inches away from Sage's face.
"Impossible…" Flash muttered, his voice barely a whisper as he struggled against the frozen reality.
Superman's eyes blazed with heat vision, beams of searing energy streaking toward Sage. Wonder Woman charged in at the same time, her sword raised high, aiming to strike at Sage's core. The two heroes attacked in perfect unison, their combined power shaking the very ground beneath them.
But Sage simply flicked his quill. The heat vision dissipated harmlessly, evaporating into the air before it could touch him. Wonder Woman's sword, gleaming with the power of the gods, was stopped mid-swing, as if it had struck an impenetrable wall.
Superman, his face etched with determination, rushed forward, aiming to overpower Sage with sheer force. His fists moved faster than the eye could follow, each blow powerful enough to level entire cities. But Sage blocked each punch with a casual grace, his quill effortlessly deflecting the strikes as if they were nothing more than light gusts of wind.
"You all fight well," Sage said, his voice calm and devoid of any emotion. "But your strength is irrelevant in the face of true power."
With a flick of his wrist, Sage sent a shockwave rippling through the battlefield, knocking Superman, Wonder Woman, and The Flash back with a force that shook the entire city. The heroes were sent flying through the air, crashing into buildings and the pavement with a thunderous impact.
Batman, still perched atop the building, narrowed his eyes. He was no stranger to overwhelming odds, but this… this was something else. Even the combined might of the Justice League seemed ineffective against this being.
Sage floated toward Plastic Man, who was now barely conscious, his elastic body coiled tightly in an unnatural form. With a casual motion, Sage tapped Plastic Man's body with his quill, and a translucent, shimmering prison formed around him. The prison morphed to match Plastic Man's ever-changing shape, sealing him in a container made entirely of a malleable, yet indestructible material, plastic.
Plastic Man, his voice weak, managed to croak out, "You… can't… do this…"
Sage tilted his head slightly, watching as the prison closed around the elastic hero. "Your powers will be interesting inside this game." he said simply, before sending the plastic prison into the swirling void above.
The heroes, still recovering from the shockwave, looked up just in time to see Plastic Man vanish into the void, joining the others already captured by Sage Blank.
Superman struggled to his feet, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth. "We… can't let him take any more of us," he muttered, his voice hoarse with exhaustion.
Wonder Woman, her armor cracked but her spirit unbroken, gripped her sword tightly. "We stand together, or not at all."
The Flash, having shaken off the effects of the time distortion, zipped to their side. "He's messing with reality itself. How do we fight something like that?"
Sage, having sealed Plastic Man in his prison, turned his attention toward the battered Justice League. His quill glowed faintly, but he made no further move to engage them. Instead, he simply observed, as if contemplating their fate.
"Your world is not my concern," Sage said calmly. "Not yet."
With a flick of his quill, the space around him twisted, and in an instant, he was gone. Teleported away, leaving behind only the faintest ripple in reality.
The Justice League stood in silence, the weight of their defeat hanging heavy in the air. They had faced gods, monsters, and invaders from across the universe, but this… this was something beyond their understanding.
Batman stepped forward, his eyes locked on the spot where Sage had disappeared. "We need to regroup," he said, his voice steady but grim. "And find out who or what that was. This isn't over."
Superman nodded, his face set in determination. "We'll be ready."
But as they looked out over the city, the uneasy feeling lingered. Sage Blank was gone, but the battle was far from over. The Justice League had been warned, and soon, they would face a challenge unlike any they had ever encountered before.
