Chapter 33 - In the bag

Reeling from the pain in his shoulder, Kol glanced up to see Zar on his knees facing his fish.

Zar was no fighter, it was a spectacle for him to last this long. Though Drew blamed Zar for the witch's attack on the port town, he did not despise the half-orc.

Zar was already coughing blood. He looked at Kol once again and gave a slight smile.

Before Kol could react, the fish impaled his harpoon onto Zar's eye socket. The harpoon's tip protruded at the back of Zar's head. He was gone.

"No, no, no," Kol muttered. "It wasn't supposed to end like this."

Out of anger, Kol pointed his staff toward the fish before him. Summoning his magic once more, shattering on the edge of the staff. The Green beam strikes true on the fish causing it to convulse and shake, as it purges its meal onto the floor.

Seeing his companion vomiting, the fish who killed Zar rushed over. But was struck by another green beam. Causing it to drop on its back as it chokes on its vomit, killing it instantly.

Kol went up to the fish purging before him. There was only one left. Though Kol was certain more would be coming, he was content to at least avenge his fallen friend.

With both Drew and Balfir on the ground and witnessing Zar's death. Kol's anger boiled inside of him.

Striking the fish with his staff as much as he could and as strong as he could. Kol screamed, letting out his frustration at the entire predicament he was in.

"I don't think," Kol said as he lifted the bent metal staff from the lifeless fish before him. "I tried my best Nicole."

Kol took one last deep breath before falling backward. His consciousness fades as the room darkens.

In a room made of carved stone, two female figures stand over a crystal ball.

"you're right Eden, he is interesting." The tall figure said as she patted Eden's head.

"he's smart, this one. You have no idea how much I wanted to play with him," Eden said giggling while she stared at the ball.

"Why didn't you?"

"I.. I was saving him for you. Mother"

"Very good. But this doesn't change the fact that you broke a rule, Eden."

"Of course not, Mother."

"I will be using your room for now, bring him to me." Mother said as she walked away from Eden. "I'll think of your punishment in the morning."

"Right away Mother," Eden says smiling as she grabs the crystal ball and binging right up her face. "What about the others?"

"I'll leave their fate to you, right now I just want to rest." Said Mother.

Mother leaves the room as Eden orders a few of the fish to fetch Mother's gift.

Kol wakes up with his whole body in pain, his shoulder patched up in bandages. He found himself in a giant bed with silk pillows and sheets.

Kol looked around the room and it was filled with shelves filled to the brim with bottles, potions, and ingredients.

Work tables filled with books and papers. Kol climbs down from the bed; he notices he was only wearing the shorts he used when he left for Lindow. His shirt was gone, only bandages.

Kol hurriedly looked for his bag and found it a top of a table close to his bed. Checking if the items he had were accounted for.

Beside his potato sack bag lies another. A small sling bag made of what looked like leather, it had patches of hair in certain parts, and in its opening were rows of flat teeth similar to a cow or a horse but much smaller.

Kol picked up the leather bag and opened it. It was empty. Kol then looked around the room filled with magical ingredients and potions. Kol's curiosity got the better of him despite being in a dangerous place.

'Good thing I found an extra bag.' Kol thought to himself as he smiled.

Kol grabs a few colorful corals from one of the shelves and puts them in his new leather bag. Suddenly Kol noticed there was no weight in the bag. Three corals may not have been heavy but they still had weight to them, despite dropping the corals inside he didn't feel them drop.

Kol opened the bag and saw nothing there.

"What the?" Kol inserted his hand inside the bag, hoping he was just imagining things.

Then from inside the bag, a faint glow appeared and, in his hands, a piece of coral appeared.

Kol's mind raced as he held the bag outward. To Kol, he just won the jackpot.

In 'The balanced world' Wizards can enchant weapons and items, while the rest of the colors alone cannot, they always require the blue energy to do so, thus making all enchanted weapons and items rare. Even rarer if the enchantment came from a sentient magical creature such as a hag, demon, devil, or spirit. While Drew's flaming long sword was rare it is nothing compared to the bag Kol now has in his possession.

Kol already knows about its enchantment, reading about something so rare and expensive did not leave Kol's memory so easily. The bag has an enchantment of void space, it can carry any number of items and can keep food preserved when put inside it. To retrieve the item inside one just needs to think about the item and it shall appear.

Immediately the thought of the chest filled with leaves flashed upon Kol's head.

A knock on the wooden door snapped Kol from his daydream.

"May I come in?" a soft female voice from the other side of the door said.

Kol quickly placed the leather bag inside his old bag and hoped it would not be found. He then grabbed one of the hefty corals on the shelf and stood beside the bed. The coral hidden behind him.

The door opens.

A woman with long black curled hair, in a real straight black dress walks in the room. She was beautiful. Her perfectly symmetric face to the size of her chest and back, her red voluptuous lips formed a soft smile.

The way she walks through the room, the way she carries herself as if that of a high-ranking noble.

'Who is she? Have they come to rescue me?' Kol thought.

A familiar sound rang in Kol's ears and the system prompted a message.
