Silence falls upon the down of FallHolt, as the townsfolk sleep soundly in the middle of the night. Kol sitting beside the dining room table, reading the parchment containing the instructions for creating the mana regeneration potion.
He places each listed ingredient based on its description in the paper, since there weren't any sketches or illustrations, this was the only way.
"Ok, seems simple enough. All I have to do is mix the ingredients in order, and slowly bring them to a boil until their color changes from dirty brown to blue, which would take around 60 minutes." Kol said to himself.
He removes his robes revealing a loose and rough fabric for a shirt. The fabric is comparable to a potato sack only cleaner. Kol Ties his long hair to bun and begins the mixture.
Kol summons his hand, though it looks like a swarm of purple glowing butterflies. This only served as a visual effect and not its function. Kol ordered his hand to help with the delicate part of the process, parts that are described in the paper as 'carefully place the..', 'Finely chop the..', and 'gently stir in a constant rhythm.'
[Blue EN: 7/10]
After the arduous process came the wait. Sitting by the small flame of the candle constantly heating a mixture of ingredients inside a glass apparatus held by Kol's conjured hand, ever so gently tilting very few seconds as to evenly distribute heat.
Kol observes the color of the mixture, slowly turn to blue.
[Performance D20 + D4 roll] – 20
After the 60-minute mark, Kol holds both potions to eye level. Visually comparing the two.
'They look virtually identical. I guess that's a good sign.'
Kol pulls the cork from the potion Ross gave to compare their results. After smelling the fragrant aroma both potions gave his conclusion was the same, once again they were identical.
Kol is pleased with the positive results so far; he then drank the potion Ross gave and quickly summoned his system to observe the effects.
[Blue EN: 5/10] -> [8/10]
'Ok, I guess it can only restore 3 energy points for Mana Regeneration Potion. As described in the instructions.'
Then a sound from the system could be heard.
[Blue Energy Accumulation]
Your consumption of diluted 'Blue Mountain Flower' grants you exceptional speed in accumulating blue energy, by (0.05) and increasing your total for a short period.
[Duration: 8 hours] -> [Duration: Permanent]
Kol's mind is in scrambles, as he tries to make sense of it all. Then, he quickly compartmentalized.
'First thing's first.'
Kol quickly took his potion, emptied it into his mouth, and then checked his system again.
[Blue EN: 8/10] -> [10/10]
Kol waited expecting another voice from the system.
[Status is already listed. Similar status will last for its normal duration.]
(Intelligence D20 roll) – 23
With the information presented to him, Kol concluded that his curse does not allow him to gain the same permanent status.
'Which means I don't need to cast weakness awareness or any of the spells I received from Bea earlier.'
'Since I can't have the same status means that the potion I created was a success.'
Excited about his accomplishment. Kol continued to create the Mana Regeneration Potion the way he did earlier. Following the same concept, Kol does the same thing with Health Regeneration Potion.
(Performance D20 + D4 roll) – 10
Though not similar in viscosity, it is still visually recognizable as a health regeneration potion. Looking forward to the system's voice, Kol drank the potion Ross gave.
[Health Development]
Your health becomes pristine and new, as you recover health faster increasing your total by (0.05) for the short duration.
[Duration: 4 hours] -> [Duration: Permanent]

Morning comes and Kol is awakened by Gesh, one of the orphan boys living in the house.
"Kol, wake up. I need to clean the table." Gesh said pulling Kol's arm.
Standing up, Kol hurriedly cleaned his station, stood up, and left the kitchen.
"Your friend is here by the way. He's in the living room." Gesh says as he wipes the table.
'Friend?' Kol thinks.
The living room was always filled with laughter since this was the central hub for most of the youngest kids. Here they can play and learn as Bea watches over them. This time however there was no laughter. Kol could only hear one voice echoing through the hallway. A familiar voice.
Inside the living is David sitting on a stool, surrounded by children. Bea is at the corner repairing a child-size shirt with thread and needle.
". but when he woke up, his wife was no longer on the bed. All that was left was leaves and branches." David read.
"She's standing by the window." A little girl whispered unaware of how loud she was.
"Shhh." The kids simultaneously turned towards her.
"Alright, Alright. Sorry." She quickly shrunk down in a comfortable position.
"He felt cold when the husband turned to close the window. There she was, His wife. Covered in vines, roots, and leaves. Then, she.." David said letting the pause linger, watching the kids tremble in anticipation. "She attacked him!"
The kids burst into screams and ran around the living room, constantly bumping into each other. David sat back down clenching his belly in laughter.
"Isn't it a little too early for scary stories?" Kol asked.
"Look who's awake. Hey, they're the ones who asked for it." Picking himself up and dusting his clothes.
"So. Where can we create those potions?" David asked.
Kol and David walked towards the backyard.
Kol instructed David to place his bags down by the shade of the tree and wait for Kol to fetch a wooded table.
"No, need. Watch." David said, then recited a spell. The circle wraps around his fists and shatters.
The ground shakes, then bursts open as a 5ft cube of earth erupts.
"It's not pretty but sturdy," David says as he cleans the surface of any loose earth.
"Alright. This will do nicely." Kol says, surprised to see David use his magic since they will duel after 3 days.
'wouldn't it be more advantageous to hide the spells you know?' Kol thought.
"So. let us begin. Please lay out all your materials on the 'table'." Kol says gesturing to the earth.
"Wow. Taking charge already. I'm assuming you already know potion making?"
"Nope. The only experience I have is from last night."
