Morning, 5th floor of the main hall, Essim's Floating Island.
A young man and a woman stood together on the balcony, enjoying the tranquil morning. The woman, slightly shorter than her companion, gazed out at the horizon, her eyes catching on the details below. Occasionally, she would point out something of interest, and the two would share a laugh or exchange a few quiet words, as if reliving shared memories.
A light breeze swept through their hair, softening the warmth of the sun and adding to the serene atmosphere. The two were Essim and his sister, Aisha, and today marked the second day since their arrival in the Mystic Realm.
The view from the balcony was breathtaking. A city was taking shape below—houses, restaurants, shops, and even a ten-story inn were nearly complete. Roads stretched out like veins across the island, while neatly arranged lampposts and beautiful flower gardens added charm to the scenery. The city, though young, was a testament to Essim's vision.
Beyond the beauty of the buildings, formidable defenses were already in place. Tall, sturdy towers stood sentinel at key points of the city, exuding an aura of vigilance. Several officers patrolled these towers—werewolves with sharp fangs, alert and ready to defend against any threat. The sight of them, in contrast to the tranquil cityscape, added a mysterious and almost eerie layer to the island, reminding one that there was strength behind its beauty.
The previous night had been busy for Essim and Aisha as they worked tirelessly to continue the construction of the island. Essim's grand plan was more than just building a city; he wanted to create a vibrant hub where individuals with rare and extraordinary talents could gather, trade, and exchange unique items. It was to be a place of bustling life, driven by the strange and fantastic.
In the midst of all this, Essim had also activated his powerful ability—Infinity Duplication—ten times. He spent the night waking up every hour, but the rewards he had once received from the crowned man during his promotion had been duplicated en masse:
(Divine Sword - Sealed) x10,000
(Blessing Potion) x10,000
(Golden Shield Talisman) x10,000
(Golden Step Talisman) x10,000
(Crystal Core: Immortal Level) x10,000
The Infinity Duplication ability had been upgraded to version 2, allowing him to multiply each item by 10,000 instead of the previous limit. In addition to these items, Essim had also duplicated Silver Chests, a staggering 50,000 in total. Even if he and Aisha worked non-stop for 24 hours a day, it would take them three days to open them all.
Essim had a reason for his obsession with the Silver Chests. He was chasing unique items—artifacts that could provide new advantages, no matter how small
Sadly, chests were not tradable and he couldn't buy Golden Chests or better from the market.
As they stood there in comfortable silence, Aisha suddenly spoke up, breaking the tranquility. "Brother... shouldn't we give this city a name?"
Essim nodded, already having thought about it. "Yes, I've been thinking the same. Do you have any ideas?"
Aisha's face lit up with excitement as she considered. After a moment of contemplation, she raised her index finger triumphantly. "How about 'City of Life'? Doesn't that sound cool?"
Her suggestion wasn't exactly a question, more of a hopeful plea. She clasped her hands together and gave him a pleading look, her eyes wide with anticipation. "Come on, brother... Please?"
Essim sighed but smiled warmly, unable to resist his sister's enthusiasm. "Alright, you win. Go ahead and announce it. The sooner, the better."
The city was starting to need a name, after all, and soon it would need inhabitants to breathe life into it.
"We also need people to take care of it," Essim added thoughtfully.
"Thank you! You're the best!" Aisha beamed, throwing her arms around Essim in a joyful hug.
Essim allowed the hug for a moment before gently pushing her away. "That's enough, now. Go on, make your preparations."
Aisha laughed, "Haha, thanks again, brother," and with a playful grin, she hurried off to make her announcement.
Meanwhile, in the military area behind the main hall, Essim observed the ranks of soldiers assembled before him. There were more than 200 soldiers, neatly organized into groups, each ready for command. These troops had been summoned from the 50 lairs Essim had constructed on the island:
Werewolf x50
Mountain Witch x50
Grumpy Rhino x50
Ant Warrior x50
Each group had distinct attributes:
Werewolf (Swordsman)
Level: 10 (max) Strength: 72, Intelligence: 46, Agility: 66, Resilience: 57
Skill: War Roar – Roar to increase attack by +5%, max stack 20%. Buff lasts 1 minute, cooldown 15 minutes.
Mountain Witch (Magic)
Level: 10 (max) Strength: 34, Intelligence: 71, Agility: 46, Resilience: 55
Skill: Earth Manipulation – Manipulates the ground within a 10m radius, reducing enemy movement by 10%. Cooldown 10 minutes.
Grumpy Rhino (Berserker)
Level: 10 (max) Strength: 79, Intelligence: 33, Agility: 53, Resilience: 78
Skill: Rampage Mode – Increases strength and resilience by +10% for 1 minute. Cooldown 10 minutes.
Ant Warrior (Swordsman)
Level: 10 (max) Strength: 72, Intelligence: 46, Agility: 66, Resilience: 57
Skill: Paralyzing Poison – Attacks with poisonous horns, causing paralysis for 1 minute, reducing enemy HP by 0.2% per second. Cooldown 15 minutes.
These soldiers had all started at level 1 when first summoned, but Essim had used 200,000 energy crystals to raise their levels to the max—each level-up costing 1,000 crystals. Now, they were ready to fight.
Speaking of energy crystals, his amount of them could be now considered as unlimited. People on the market were starting to think that the system provided some resources at a base value, because no one was able to make any monopoly. Essim and Aisha's resources kept flowing the market.
Just as Essim was about to turn his attention to other matters, a sudden message appeared from the system.
[Event: Rise of the Sovereign Begins!!!]
[Void monsters will attack each Sovereign's island for 7 days.]
[Killing Void monsters will reward Killing Points, which can be exchanged at the Market Event.]
[Event Rankings Released]
[Event duration: 6 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes...]
"So, it's finally here..." Essim murmured to himself, his eyes narrowing. He had anticipated an event like this—whether it was to assist the Sovereigns or to test them didn't matter. What mattered was what he could gain from it.
Essim quickly opened the Market Event tab, scanning the rewards available.
Materials: (Wooden Cupboard Blueprint - 10,000 points), (Iron Pickaxe - 5,000), (Straw Rope - 2,000)...
Resources: (Fine Stone - 1,000 points), (Pillow Leaves - 1,000), (Black Sand - 1,000)...
Weapons: (Dark Iron Sword - lvl 10 - 200,000 points), (Dragon Muscle Shield - lvl 15 - 300,000 points), (Jungle King Bow - lvl 20 - 400,000 points)...
Chests: (Gold Chest - 1,000,000 points), (Silver Chest - 100,000 points), (Wooden Chest - 10,000 points)...
A wide grin spread across Essim's face as he reviewed the available items. The challenge had begun, and he was ready.
