Chapter 4 - Shopping Streak

Essim and Aisha eagerly explored the market's offers, their objective clear: to purchase full-body equipment and bolster their strength. Becoming more powerful would hasten their progress, and as they leveled up, they would gain access to more valuable materials. This was where Essim's extraordinary talent would truly come into play.

Essim scrolled through the equipment section, his eyes darting from one item to another, searching specifically for long-range weapons. After applying a few filters and browsing for several minutes, his attention was caught by the Evo Bow.

(Evo Bow)

Strength: +10

(Explosive Arrow)

- Arrows explode on impact, dealing +30 damage.

The Evo Bow was listed for 20 Energy Crystals.

Essim quickly did the math: the current exchange rate for water to Energy Crystals was 1:10cl, meaning 10 cl of water was worth 1 Energy Crystal. With his vast supply of water, Essim's net worth translated into 1000 Energy Crystals. Without hesitation, he accessed the market's request feature, filtered for water trades, and exchanged 100 vials of 10cl for 100 Energy Crystals.

A sleek, one-meter-long green bow materialized before him. Its design was both luxurious and functional, with soft bird feathers at the ends and a string that felt firm yet elastic.

"Haha, perfect," Essim said, grinning as he held the bow. The explosive power it packed meant he could obliterate a group of goblins in seconds.

He resumed browsing through the market, still in search of gear.

[Successfully exchanged 14 Energy Crystals for Flowing Cloak]

(Flowing Cloak)

Resilience: +8, Agility: +2

A long blue-green cloak appeared, draping over Essim's arms. Its dual attribute boost was a rare find, even among the best items in the market.

Satisfied with the cloak, Essim continued his shopping spree for another ten minutes, eventually purchasing three more items: Wind Boots, Glass Gloves, and a Courage Headband.

(Wind Boots)

Agility: +9, Resilience: +2

(Glass Gloves)

Strength: +6, Resilience: +5

(Courage Headband)

Resilience: +4, Intelligence: +1

Fully equipped with these new pieces of gear and the powerful Evo Bow, Essim felt an immense surge of strength coursing through him. He checked his status panel.

Essim had spent a total of 72 Energy Crystals, purchasing the best gear available. If there had been stronger items, he would have gladly bought them, but no one was foolish enough to sell top-tier equipment at this early stage of the game.

"Brother, look!" Aisha called out with excitement. She had also fully equipped herself, her stats not far behind Essim's.

"Great, you almost look like a grown up!" Essim remarked playfully.

"Brother!!! Ugh… I'm not a kid !" Aisha felt both flattered and slightly insulted.

She raised her staff, a white light forming at its tip.

"Hey!" Essim exclaimed, his eyes widening in alarm.

He dodged to avoid becoming the target of Aisha's magic.

"Okay, okay… Sorry! Stop!" Essim said, as he dodged an icicle.

"Aisha… I apologize… Mercy…" Essim continued shouting, pleading for forgiveness as magic attacks still fused.

Seeing her brother's silly antics, Aisha paused, unable to suppress a smile.

Humph…

She sighed and flicked her long hair back with a small hand.

As Aisha stopped, Essim cautiously approached her.

"Hehehe, you are amazing," he complimented, carefully choosing his words.

He praised her several more times, feeling that if he hadn't run, he might have met an untimely end.

"Enough!" Aisha snapped, pressing a finger to her lips, signaling him to halt his exaggerated flattery.

"Do you think I don't know what you're doing?" she shot back, her gaze sharp and discerning.

"Heheheh…" Essim scratched his head, grinning sheepishly. His sister had grown up and was no longer easily fooled by such tactics.

"Alright, now that we're ready, let's go hunt some more!" Essim exclaimed, raising his right hand high, hoping for a cheer from Aisha.

All he received in response was the sound of the wind as she walked past him.

"Look, the next island seems to be close" Aisha answered.

And so, the siblings ventured once more into an unknown land.

In an island spanning 900 square meters, a fierce battle unfolded.

A young man shot arrows every five seconds at a pack of wolves.

(Wolf's Roar): Increases attack power for a few seconds.

Nearby, a young woman wielded a long staff, unleashing a continuous barrage of white ice energy.

(Hailstorm)

A powerful spell, the energy at the tip of her staff created a massive hailstorm that covered an area of 25 square meters within five seconds.

[ Killed Sharp-Toothed Wolf: EXP +5 ]

These were Essim and Aisha, battling the eighth group of monsters they had encountered in the past hour.

During that time, they had both leveled up twice, now reaching Level 3.

The 900-square-meter island was home to approximately 90 wolves, all of which had fallen to their might.

[ Killed Sharp-Toothed Wolf: EXP +5 ]

With the death of the last wolf, Essim and Aisha finally relaxed their tense muscles.

As was their routine after each battle, they began extracting materials from the monster corpses.

Each held a burlap sack to collect the dropped items, wondering if the system would eventually provide them with proper bags or if they would need to craft them themselves at a higher level.

Suppressing their curiosity for the moment, they continued the extraction process.

Each extraction emitted a white light, revealing various items.

However, this time, the corpse Essim was handling glowed with a golden light.

[ Acquired Silver Chest +1 ]

Essim's eyes widened in disbelief and awe.

Noticing the golden glow, Aisha approached, her gaze fixed on the 30 cm long and 20 cm wide silver chest.

"What's in it?" she asked, her voice filled with excitement and curiosity.
