Chapter 34 - 34. Reviewing the Horror film

Big E Studios;

Last month, the old chairman's health had declined, and Lewis, his son-in-law, had taken the helm of the studios as the temporary chairman.

"What is the current situation of the sequel for the movie 'laugh in mayhem' ?" Lewis questioned violently.

"Yes, after repaying the last payment to the Sparkling studios, we are now authorized to begin producing the sequels as per the contract," the secretary said cautiously.

Lewis slammed the table and cursed Philip, saying that they would have swiftly begun the sequel if Philip had simply purchased the film rights in full.

Without Philip, this movie could not have any connection to their studio. The secretary scoffed at Lewis in her mind as she stand by the side.

=====================

Sam is unaware of the turmoil at the Big E studios, but even if he knew, he would ignore them since he has no interest in someone else's business.

Sam spent the next week visiting the 1820 crew and observed Andrew's enthusiastic direction of the film on the set.

He also met with the producer, Ophelia Hersey, several more times. And he also take some time to talk with Kevin in private.

After returning from Canada, Sam went over to the monthly studio meeting and spent time with Lily in the weekend.

In between things, he also interacts with Elijah in order to remain updated with the news in Hollywood, as Elijah is his source of news who keeps Sam updated, which helps him to make correct decisions.

After a busy week, Sam went to Charles' place for dinner on September 11th, as tonight, everybody in the Rolex family had chosen to eat an evening meal with Sam.

While they were dining, Charles inquired about Sam's investment company and whether he could invest with a few close friends.

In America, if you want to build a better and long-lasting friendship with someone, try to earn some money for them.

Sam nodded and indicated that he would not mind, but he would require at least 30% to 35% of the earnings from their investments.

Charles agreed with Sam, as most professional investment firms takes up to 40% of profits, and Sam was already doing him a great favor by taking 10% less profit than firms on Wall Street.

After eating his meal, Sam quickly head back to his home because the present Los Angeles is not particularly secure at night.

Sam's life remained largely unchanged for another two to three weeks as he traveled between the office and home.

He had already written the first volume in the Harry Potter series.

As of October 2nd, Sam will be focusing on the post-production of '1820: Revenge of Evil' for approximately two weeks.

Andrew had finished filming the entire movie, and the film rolls were already in the business storeroom.

Afterwards, Sam, Andrew, and producer Ophelia Hersey were working on the film's editing, mixing, and sound enhancements.

After working on post-production for more than two weeks, they completed it on the 17th of this month.

Sam called and asked Philip to bring their studio's executives and Rekzon's marketing executives for a review of the finished film.

Sam, sitting inside the auditorium alongside Philip, Timothy Lee, vice president of Rekzon Studios, and marketing personnel, commanded the film to start.

Throughout the entire film, the executives occasionally shuddered, frowned or exclaimed.

Following the screening, the executives reviewed the film among themselves and used their own evaluation sheets to make predictions regarding the film's reception and earnings from the box office.

Following their internal discussion, the executive handed Philip their evaluation sheets.

Philip brought the sheets to Sam's side, and the two of them began reading these jointly, with Timothy Lee accompanying them.

Sam was quite at ease after reading the sheets, but Philip and Timothy were thrilled since the average score on the sheets was "A," indicating that the film was worthwhile of vigorous market promotion.

Sam walked out of the auditorium and left Timothy and his CEO in charge of overseeing the film's distribution and marketing.

Following that, Philip and Timothy makes the decision to spend at least $2 million on the movie's promotion, and they plan to expand the original 400 screens to 900.

The following day, Sam accepted the report Philip had given him on the distribution and promotion, and he was pleased with it after reading it.

"We should focus more on the posters around colleges and universities as well as the newspaper in this kind of film, while reducing the amount of funding given to the critics," said Sam.

For fear of missing something, Philip take notes of the instructions, which Sam had given him.
