A few days later, Sam looked at the balance sheet that displayed approximately 45 million dollars in the company's finances and chuckled, realizing how he might now continue forward with his objectives with more liberty.
And currently, he does not have to worry about IRS (internal revenue service), as he has up to half a year until his taxes are due.
Looking at the calendar, which shows July 22, he intends to release a movie at the end of the year with the Christmas schedule; subsequently, he needs to choose a good movie from the library because that is when major studios release their films.
So, when it comes to investment, he wants to partner with top studios to increase the odds of his film's success.
While reviewing the documents, Claire brought in a report about the movies, stating what genre of movies are currently popular in the box office, which indicates that the audience is mainly interested in comedy, romance, and animated movies in the current Christmas season market.
According to the survey, after seeing this list, he also saw a few musicals, some of which were good and some of which were not.
He also instructed Claire to collect the upcoming schedule of all the major film studios around the holiday seasons to ensure his plans to release his movie accordingly.
While Sam was immersed in focus with regard to the upcoming script, his cell phone buzzed, and he received a call from Elijah's number."Sam, I have arranged a meeting between you and Philips tonight at the lakeside restaurant, so don't forget."
"Hmm, okay, I will be there," says Sam briefly and disconnects the phone.
When he found Claire remaining in his office, he informed her of the appointment and cautioned her to get back home safely.
He has been dropping off her at Charles house for the past few days, considering her house coincides with his route.
He parks the car, steps down, and passes through various artistic landscapes, trees, and illumination, along with an artificial pond at the edge beside the road, which glitters under the twilight moon.
He walks into a private room on the second floor near the corner, accompanied by a server, and notices Philip and Elijah warmly chatting about something.
When he entered the room, both guys attempted to stand up, but he gestured for them to sit without much politeness and engaged in conversation with them before they began ordering food from the menu that was displayed.
Elijah was eating and drinking when he questioned Philips why he didn't attend the final negotiations for those sequels. After a few drinks, he reluctantly described the fiction between him and the chairman.
Sam and Elijah pretended to be shocked and upset and tried to empathize with Philip, but Sam felt a strange feeling regarding Elijah, who seemed to demonstrate some sort of kinship with Philip, but he wasn't thinking much of it since he thought Elijah's acting abilities were excellent.
After some sobering up, Sam proposed to Philips,"What do you think about joining my studios as the CEO? You will get a three-package package of $500,000 plus bonuses and an incentive up to 2% of the profits annually, and although it is a new studio compared to others, I can guarantee you that it will not become some family-like business as my aim is to run a studio at the corporate level and reach the top."
Philip appeared indecisive but was also tempted considering that even if he changed jobs, no other studio could provide him an improved position than a producer, so he requested a few days to think about this proposal.
After their meal, everyone split ways: Sam and Philip drove home, while Elijah returned to his office to finish a little work before heading home.
Philips returned home, discussed with his wife Sam's proposal, and expressed his own thoughts on the situation.
His wife respects whatever decision he may take, and she had no opposition about him joining a new company.
At the same time, Sam sat in the drawing room, watching the ABC entertainment channel on television, which showed some popular movies that were currently screening in theaters; 'The Elliot's Revenge,' a horror/physiological film that appeared to have characteristics similar to the "Saw" movie but with fewer surprises and twists, was at the top of the list in July.
He grew bored after watching more Hollywood news and went back to sleep.
Philip had been going to work normally during the previous three days, but today he headed up to the chairman's office, knocked, and went inside to deliver him his letter of resignation.
The chairman was angry and guilty when opening the envelope and reading the resignation letter, but he persuaded Philip to think twice about this decision, but Philip didn't want to waste much further time and offer farewell to the chairman.
After Philips left, the enraged chairman vented his rage on the desk, knowing that he had gone over the line this time by failing to attribute Philip due credit, but he also knew that Philip was one of the studios' primary pillars since he was a seasoned producer who produced many good movies for him.
After submitting another letter to the HR department, Philips drove straight to the Sparkling studios, having already notified Sam of his arrival today.
Sam stood outside his studio's two-story building for a few minutes before noticing Philips arriving in his vehicle.
They went inside together, requesting Claire to arrange a department conference for every head, and then accompanied Philips to the conference room.
Inside the room, Sam introduced everyone to Philip Watson and informed them that the Philip would become the new CEO of their studio.
Furthermore, he instructed them thoroughly to formalize the studio framework similar to the top studios, so that, as their studio is currently relatively small, they could modify the company more formally.
With that, he handed over complete control of the studio to Philips, and he will continue to serve as chairman, offering advice from behind the scenes as well.
