Emil returned to the castle after recruiting two more people from the town and reported to Erika about the process. "Well done Emil. I knew I could trust you in this matter. Well done." "I was simply doing my job milady." Emil replied bowing his head. "Go ahead and rest. I will handle things here with Bauer." Emil left with after a bow. Erika started to address the new recruits. "I know you have a lot of questions and want to know what a 10 years old girl wants to do. Some of you may even think that I am just naïve and spoiled noble girl who wants to play." Erika stopped for a while and looked at the faces of the new recruits. Most of them were Emil's friends and already knew about being recruited by her. So they were calm and collected they didn't react much. The other 2 felt a little confused at first but seeing the others being serious remained silent themselves. Erika was satisfied with their reaction. She made a serious face seldom seen on the face of a 10 years old. This stern and serious face also made the recruits serious. Erika continued, "I want to tell you that it is not the case and you are being recruited for serious jobs. I want you to become my personal soldiers. You will become the shield that not only defends me but also your beloved ones. You will be an army that will receive training no one else in this era has. Once the training is complete you will have power greater than any knights or angels. But you will be harshly disciplined as well so as not to abuse your power. Don't worry what I am saying is neither a whim nor a play and you will understand that once you start. You will receive payment enough for you and your family and will be well taken care of. You have no reason to be afraid. But I want you to swear allegiance and secrecy of this matter. No one can know what you are doing here, not even your closest friends and families. Is that understood?" There was a slight hesitation among the recruits and they looked at each other. Emil's friends trusted Emil because they knew he wouldn't bring them in something nonsensical. So they after looking at each other soon replied "We are okay with it milady." with a bow. The other 2 were hesitating more and didn't know what to do. But looking at the majority of the group being okay with it, they also gave content. "Ah, their reactions are good for now. But I feel like they only gave consent because they trust Emil more. Well nothing can be done for now. And it seems that two of them are more hesitant and are working only under peer pressure. I have to ease their tensions somehow. I may not be 10 year old inside but I still am a high schooler. Moreover I don't have the training myself." Erika thought. But she brushed off her thoughts. "No I have to maintain my calm. Now is not the time to think such unnecessary thoughts. I have keep the men together." Erika thought to herself. She kept saying to the troops, "Remember, the most important thing you will learn in my army is discipline. I don't need the berserker warriors with muscles and fist strengths. I need disciplined soldiers who will follow command without hesitation. Remember your motto will be, We are not to reason why, we are not to make reply we are but to do or die. Along with, my honor is loyalty. Emil will start your training after he comes until then you guys are to rest here." Leaving the recruits in the yard, Erika went to the room where Emil was to hand him the training manual. "Listen Emil, the most important training for these recruits is discipline. Here is the first portion of the training manual. For the first couple of days, train them to fall in line and stand. Don't move to weapons training before they are well devised in military drills and commands. I know you may not understand the reason but for my 'Wehrmacht' this will be the course. You may Train them from 10 to 5 everyday in this way for first week and then I will tell you more."
This training method continued for the rest of the days. The week went by and very soon it was time for Erika to meet her future fiancée, the prince. On the morning of the day, Erika's mother came to wake up her up. "Wake up dear today is the day you meet the prince." Erika's mother said with wide bright smile on her face as she gently brushed the hair from Erika's face. Erika woke up, her eyes blinked gently from sleep and she yawned. "Oh, good morning mother. Why are you here today?" Her mother smiled for a bit. "Ha ha ha it seems you were so busy and tired in the past few days that you already forgot. Today the prince will come to see you. So came to make sure you are prepared for this very special day." "You know mother it is just an engagement and there is nothing so special about it." Erika was not only skeptical but also a little worried. It was her second chance to avoid her doom. She was not happy at all that the day came all too soon. But she had a clear strategy. All she had to do was to act like spoiled and haughty noble girl to make the prince dislike her and break the engagement. After she brushed her teeth and took her bath, her mother prepared a dress for her. It was a very beautiful lightly colored dress with various flowers all over the body along with a neckless with a blue diamond matching her eye color. Her mother prepared it for her specifically. "Wow mother! its a beautiful dress when did you buy it?" Erika asked her mother. She was amazed to see this dress that made her look very beautiful even for a ten year old. "I had our family's tailor make it for you yesterday. Its my engagement gift for you." Erika's mother said while caressing her daughter's head. "Did you like it dear?" "Yes, mother I like it very much. It is my favorite. Thank you very much for giving me this dress." "You are welcome dear." Erika was happy to have this dress. One reason for that was because it was perfect dress to show off in front of the prince. Erika later met with Emil and Bauer and instructed them to continue with the training and manufacturing of the weapons. Though in secret so as not to alert the prince. The noon came very soon. The prince arrived at their castle and Erika and her mother along with maids and workers received him. The prince's attendant came out of the carriage first and opened the carriage door on the left side. "May I present you the first prince of the Kingdom of Hohenstaufia his royal highness Theodore Von Hohenstaufia." "Welcome your highness." Everyone said in unison and slightly bowed to show him respect. "Yeah, yeah just get this over with. I am not really in a mood to visit some backward village castle. If it wasn't for my father the king's orders I would not even come to such a backward place. Now bow properly in front of me." It was now Erika's turn to be surprised.
