Furniture tinted with miasma was flying around the room, they were shooting randomly at Luna who was in the middle, she used her wind to block it at the last moment before the furniture hit. The room was set up as a study and on the wall behind the desk was a locket with a dense cloud of miasma hanging around it.
"That must be the cause of all of this," Belle states, pointing at the locket while dodging a book that went flying at him.
"So what do we do about it?" Liz asks, ducking under a vase.
"Destroy it, probably," Belle answers. They've spread out around the room, dodging the furniture that continues to swarm them.
"I'll get it! You guys protect me!" Leslie exclaims. He was the closest to the locket, so he started crawling along the back wall. Belle, Liz, and Luna, who has recovered a bit after having some of the furniture taken off her back by the others, move in front of Leslie and block any furniture that's coming his way.
"I got it!" Comes the victorious shout a few minutes later. The furniture quiets down, the miasma recedes, and it's completely calm until all hell breaks loose. The miasma from the locket bursts out taking the form of a lady in an old and fancy dress.
"Who dares interrupt my rest!" She booms.
"Um, what?" Belle asks.
"That locket, it was my resting place, until I was rudely awoken by someone shaking it." She replies.
"Sorry ma'am, but the locket was causing some trouble, we're trying to figure out how to deal with it." Belle apologizes. The others in the room are watching the conversation with surprise and confusion written on their faces.
"Oh, it seems some of my miasma was slipping out as protection. I am sorry for that. I'll just take it back now, and then I'm going back to sleep, " She says. She then closes her eyes, concentrating. The miasma that was spread throughout the room starts to recede, until all of a sudden, it explodes, and the furniture begins attacking again.
"What's happening!? I'm so confused!" Leslie ducks, avoiding the flying furniture.
"Uhm, it appears the locket has absorbed some of my miasma and gotten a mind of its own." The lady tells them.
"Then, what should we do?" Liz asks her.
"You have to cleanse the locket, but be careful, it has absorbed my power which means it can use my ability, if any strands of miasma touch you it can control your body." She warns.
"Good to know." Belle thanks her, dodging a line of miasma trying to grab at his body. The locket had dropped on the ground when Leslie dropped it so Belle quickly ducks under the furniture and miasma, diving toward the locket and grabbing it, holding it successfully in his hands. And then a strand of miasma as small as a needle pokes into his skin, and his hand drops the locket. It balls into a fist, turns toward his face, and then punches out. Belle quickly moves his head to the side, dodging the strike.
"What?" He stands up and grabs his arm as his hand keeps trying to attack him.
"What the hell are you doing?" Liz asks him.
"Uhm, my hand, it's attacking me." He answers her.
"I'll get the locket for you!" Leslie exclaims, grabbing the dropped locket.
"Wait!" Belle shouts, but it's too late and Leslie already has his hand around the locket. Another bit of miasma stabs out, hitting Leslie in the leg this time, suddenly, his center of balance shifts and he falls toward the ground.
"Eh?" He makes a noise of confusion. The locket gets thrown across the room as he falls.
"What the hell are you two idiots doing!?" Liz questions, grabbing the locket out of the air. This time the miasma stabs her in the hair, the locket is dropped once again, and in the room is someone fighting against their hand, their leg, and their hair.
"Can you guys maybe help us?" Belle asks the two ghosts in the room.
"Sorry if you don't have eyes, but this furniture is raining down on me, I can't do shit!" Luna huffs.
"I am in much the same predicament." The ghost lady responds.
"Urgh, fine!" Belle grumbles in frustration. While he's trying to keep his hand from strangling him he spots the locket on the ground next to him.
"Okay, let's do this quickly." He mutters. He runs up to the locket and kicks it into the wall, it bounces off it and goes flying back toward him. He catches it in his mouth and hurriedly removes his hand, going over to the system and choosing to exorcize the locket. It flares up in a bright light, the miasma burning off of it while the locket itself remains unharmed. The furniture around the room drops to the floor and everyone's body parts return to normal.
"Huff, here's your locket back." Belle hands the ghost lady her locket.
"Thank you very much." She says gracefully.
"What…just happened?" A voice questions over the loudspeaker.
"Oh, kind of forgot those guys were there." Leslie chuckles. A door opens, and David walks in, glancing around the room in shock.
"That, the furniture, was flying." He states.
"Yep, we found out your problem, this locket here was leaking miasma and attacking the patrons," Belle explains, pointing to the locket.
"Then, ghosts are real?" David questions.
"Uh-huh, there's actually two in this room right now." He replies cheekily. David looks like he's about to faint and Belle feels a bit bad for telling him that.
"Wait a second, couldn't this be good for business? Ma'am, what's the reason you've been sleeping for so long?" Liz suddenly asks the ghost lady.
"It's because being a ghost is ever so boring." She reveals.
"Then, what if you become part of the attraction, you could float the furniture around and scare the patrons who come through, wouldn't that be fun?" Liz proposes.
"I suppose." She thinks it over.
"What are you talking about?" David asks.
"The ghost that was sleeping in the locket, she has agreed to help with your attraction, stuff like floating furniture around," Belle informs the man.
"And this ghost, won't attack the patrons?" David asks.
"I would never!" The ghost lady says in outrage.
"She says no," Leslie informs David.
"Fine. Do you still want to continue with the tour?" David asks.
"Yes please!" They all agree. They continue through the rest of the haunted house, once they reach the end Belle ends the stream and gains a total of 250 Ghost Points, he also completes the mission and gains another weapon box. Liz and Belle split ways with Leslie and Luna and get in the car to head back home.
"That was fun, right?" Belle asks Liz.
"Yep, thanks for planning this, we didn't even have to pay a cent," Liz smirks.
"Haha, not paying for shit always makes it better." Belle chuckles.
