Chapter 7 - Flower Ridge High School-Part 1

Belle spent the next few days relaxing at home. He had earned some money from the steam and worked on budgeting. It didn't take long for the budgeting to fall apart once he found an expensive collector's item and immediately bought it. Liz forced him to sell it but he could only sell it at half price. With the rest of the money going toward food and bills, Belle was broke by the end of the week and needed more money. So to the system, he went. The next main mission was [Flower Ridge High School], Belle had never heard of it but the system explained.

[An old high school that closed down for a few weeks due to the suicide of a female student. The school tried to open again but multiple students reported feeling scared or anxious, with others swearing they saw mysterious figures. The school finally closed after the suicide of another student, it was left abandoned after the school staff and workers encountered a series of strange incidents. Would you like to accept this mission?]

[Yes] [No]

Belle is already familiar with the process and easily clicks the [Yes] button.

[Access to the school will be provided within three days.]

-1 Day Later-

Liz had asked Belle to go shopping with her, and, having nothing better to do, he agreed.

"Do you think this outfit will be good for the date?" Liz frets. She was going to ask her date about making it official and she was nervous. She was holding up a red pencil dress, the deep color of wine.

"It looks fine, more importantly, should I get more hairclips?" Belle questions, holding up some black and yellow hairclips that fit his outfit. A yellow off-the-shoulder sweater and black jeans. They were at the mall near their house, it was filled with noise as people bustled about, going on with their days.

"You have enough hairclips! They literally take up the entire fucking bathroom, I have no space!" She scolds, causing Belle to pout as he places the hairclips back on the stand. After a few more minutes of indecision, Liz buys the red dress and they leave the store. As they walk through the mall crowds, Belle hears a voice call out his name over the noise.

"Belle!"

He turns to find a man approaching him, the man has brown hair swept into a ponytail that hangs over his shoulder. He's wearing jeans and a white t-shirt with a striped short-sleeve coat over the top.

"Uhm, yes? How do you know my name?" Belle questions the man.

"ThankgoodnessIfoundtherightperson, wait, you are the right person, right?" The man hardly breathes as he rushes through his words.

"Woah, woah, slow down, start from the beginning please." He urges the man.

"Okay, you're the new haunted house ghost streamer, right?" The man asks.

"Correct."

"Right, so I was kind of wondering if you could help me, my little brother went to this haunted school last night alone as part of a test of courage or something. He hasn't come back yet, I only found out he went this morning and I didn't want to enter the school, something about that place just seems off." The man explains, "So I asked everyone I knew but they couldn't help me, then I saw a clip of your stream over at the food court, one of my friends works there, and I remembered I saw you in the mall earlier. So I thought I'd ask for help, you can stream the whole thing and I can pay you, please just help me." The man begs, even getting down on his knees, drawing in people's attention from around the mall.

"Okay, whatever you guys are discussing seems important, but can we not do it here, people are judging us." Liz cuts in. She leads them to a nearby food court and they grab a table.

"My name is Liz, this is Belle, what's your name?" Liz starts the conversation with introductions.

"I'm Leslie, nice to meet you guys!" He chirps. A smile on his face despite the situation he's in.

"Start from the very beginning, it's best to get the whole story to figure out what happened," Liz states.

"Right, so last night, my younger brother told me he was going out with some friends, I waited for him to come back home until he texted me that he was staying the night at a friend's house. The next morning, he still wasn't back, and he didn't answer the phone. I then went to the friend's house and his friend told me he went on a test of courage and never came back. The friend assumed he left scared and went back home. I headed to where the test of courage took place, Flower Ridge High School, but the place seemed…off, and I didn't feel like I should go in. But I have to get my brother back, he's all that I have." Leslie finishes. A few tears leaked from his eyes.

"Don't worry, I'll get your brother back, I need to do some research on the school first and prepare some stuff, how about we meet at the school at 8:00 tonight?" Belle asks.

"That's fine, thank you so much!" Leslie says, hopping up and shaking his hand. He leaves with a wave and then it's just Liz and Belle left.

"This situation sounds oddly familiar," Liz tells him.

"Maybe, but I get more money out of it so it's fine," Belle replies.

"What am I going to do with you, just don't get hurt, there could be murderers about," Liz warns, pinching his cheek.

They head home and Belle immediately starts making preparations, he has 42 Ghost Points but decides to save them in case he needs them in the heat of the moment. He starts researching the school, finding out more about the incident that took place there and the location. As the time gets closer to 8 he says goodbye to Liz and heads out toward the school.
