The hallway was too bright for her eyes but the one thing that stood out from such intensity of light were the loud moans of a lady coming from one of the rooms. It was the night of her engagement party which was still in full swing, her parents had booked the whole hotel just for the sole purpose of her engagement party.
Camila used her hand to steady her head which was spinning. She had taken quite a lot of drinks out of excitement at her engagement party earlier. Right now she was looking for her fiancé and was sure to pass out anytime soon if she didn't find him.
"Uhhh. Yeasss.uhhhh". The lady's moans grew louder and Camilla winced as she held her head again, trying to recall whose voice it was. It sounded really familiar.
"Yess. Reynaldo. Uhhhh". Camilla heard the lady say.
She had never sobered up so fast the way she did. Now she realized where she recognized the voice from. It was her best friend Antonia but why had she moaned out Reynaldo's name?
Dragging her feet as her heart began to race, Camilla walked to the door where the moan sounds were coming from. She opened the door slightly and out of shock shut it back from the horrid scene she had seen.
Her best friend was On her knees pleasing Reynaldo. Maybe she was too drunk and she was dreaming? Camilla couldn't help the tears that stunk her eyes. Why had they betrayed her in such a way? What had she done to deserve this and that too on the night of her engagement party!
Hurrying away from the place, Camilla boarded a taxi heading to nowhere. She just stared outside the window of the taxi as tears flowed uncontrollably from her eyes. Her heart breaks each time the image of both of them together comes into her head.
"Please ma'am. Where are you dropping off?". The taxi man asked Camilla, jolting her from her streams of thoughts.
She was too disorganized and heartbroken to even contort a word. When she tried to speak, the tears would just come and all she could do was sob pathetically in front of the taxi man.
"Ahhh. Don't worry. I know just the best place for you. A long day, huh?". The taxi man asked her as he handed her a tissue at the back.
" you can say that". Camilla replied as she took the tissue from him, using it to wipe her tears and blow her running nose.
The taxi halted in front of a club. Camilla looked at the taxi man quizzically because she wasn't the type to go clubbing. In fact, it was embarrassing that at her age and with the exposure she's had, she has never been to a club before.
"Could we... can you take me somewhere else?". Camilla asked politely, hoping the taxi man would do as she asked.
"Sorry girl. Looking at you, what you need is to dance and drink the night away. Besides, I'm done for the night and my house is just right around the corner. Gotta say night to cherry". The taxi man replied to her, showing off his rusted gold teeth with a smile.
Camilla nodded her head in understanding and thanked him, not before paying him off and giving him a huge tip too. She strolled casually into the club. Thankfully, she was still in her engagement dress and it fit perfectly well for a club outfit too.
She didn't go slow the moment she was able to locate the bar. She just wanted to forget all about tonight's betrayal from the two people she loved most in the world. Camilla still could not understand why Reynolds and Antonia had decided to betray her in such a way. It was true she wanted to wait till marriage to have sex with Reynaldo but he had agreed to her terms! Why had he done this? And for Antonia, what was her reason?
These questions clouded Camilla's mind as she ordered for another shot of tequila. She was about to down it in one go when someone pulled the drink out of her hand.
"Hey! Give it back!". Camilla screamed out slurring as she tried to grab the drink back but the stranger instead held her hand.
"Right. And I think you're done. Please get her a glass of water". The stranger said to the waiter as he tried to steady Camilla who was evidently drunk.
"Who do you think you are to tell me I'm done?". Camilla asked with a huff as she shook the strangers' hands off her. His hands were cold and it made her feel funny and fuzzy inside.
"No one of interest. Can you find your way home without tripping?". The stranger asked her.
Instead of answering him, Camilla stood up wobbling, there she decided it was time to head home and hopefully fall into a deep sleep like sleeping beauty. But the moment she tried to walk, she almost tripped flat on her face.
"Whoa. Are you sure you'll be fine on your own". The stranger asked holding her waist to steady her.
"Oh just fuck off. I'm fine!". Camilla screamed out at him as a light blush crossed her cheeks. Even while drunk, she couldn't believe she had used a curse word. That wasn't her style.
Camilla was able to get out of the club without the help of the stranger but still yet she missed her steps every once in a while. A loud whistle from behind her made her jump up in fright.
"Scared honey? I promise not to hurt ya". A man dressed in all black seated on a bike said.
"Definitely not from around here. How about we take you for a ride. Huh, sexy girl". Another man said walking towards Camilla who tried to hasten her footsteps but was too weak.
"Hey! You deaf or what? He's talking to you". The first guy said starting his bike and driving it to block Camilla's path.
"What do you want? Is it money? Please just leave me alone". Camilla begged as she began to sober up quickly sensing these men were dangerous.
"A rich one huh?". The man replied as his hands came up to caress Camilla inappropriately.
"Stop!". Camilla screamed out slapping his hands away but instead the man took a fistful of her hair making her scream out in pain.
"I promise we'll be quick love". He whispered in her ear licking it which made Camilla's skin crawl.
"Please let me go. I'll give you whatever you want". Camilla begged.
"Hell yeah you'll give us what we want and now too". The other man said, licking his lips as he touched Camilla's breast.
"I'd advise you better stop unless you want me to break those hands of yours". A voice said from the back which made the two men stop their assault on Camilla.
They hesitated for a moment but backed down when the strange man brought out his gun to display.
"Sorry man, didn't know she was your girl. We were just leaving anyways". The man said as both of them hopped on their bikes and ran away.
Camilla felt her head spinning as gravity failed her. Thankfully the stranger that had saved her from the thugs caught her before she hit the ground.
"Thank you". Camilla said, with her eyes shutting close on their own.
