Camilla was able to get a taxi as soon as Carlos' driver had left.
"Where to ma'am?". The taxi driver asked her while looking at her weirdly.
"A hotel please. Somewhere cheap". She told him.
It pained her but she had no choice. There was no need to go somewhere expensive as currently she couldn't really afford anything expensive. That was the problem with being a woman who was an orphan. Ever since She was a child she had never known her parents. The Suarez family had taken her in as their own and with time she was betrothed to Reynaldo, but all that didn't matter now. The Suarez loved their son and would do anything for his happiness.
"Yes. I have her. Okay". The taxi driver said to no one in particular.
"Excuse me? What did you say?". Camilla asked him as his voice reeled her back to reality from her train of thoughts.
"Oh nothing ma'am. We're almost there". He replied and Camilla gave a nod.
The taxi man stopped her at a cheap hotel. In fact, from the surroundings it was evident that it was cheap and probably had rats running in and out of the hotel.
"Ummm. Can't we find some place else?". Camilla asked, unsure of stepping down from the taxi.
"Sorry ma'am. I got other things to do than be your chauffeur. I'd advise you to get down and hire another taxi". The taxi man said rudely to her.
Without a choice, Camilla got down from the taxi with her luggage staring at the dilapidated building which was going to be home till she figured out what to do.
She strolled into the hotel to book a room but there was no receptionist at the front desk. While she was waiting, two men dressed in black walked into the hotel. They looked too sophisticated to be in a place like this.
Camilla stood waiting as the sofa in the waiting room looked too dirty and scary to sit on when the men dressed in black approached her.
"You need to come with us". One of them said,
"Who are you?". Camilla asked, scared.
"Don't worry, we won't hurt you but you need to leave this place now". The man said to her holding her by the arms.
Camilla's instinct kicked in and she bit the man on his hand with every force in her body as he mind raced back to the events that had happened last night. Unfortunately, she couldn't get far as the other one hauled her back by her hair. With tears in her eyes, Camilla stumped her foot on his leg but he didn't budge. Deciding it was time to go lower, she kicked him in the balls and he instantly let her go.
Without caring about her luggage, Camilla rushed outside and started running, the two men chasing after her. She wasn't a runner and had always failed at sports so she knew sooner or later the men chasing her would catch up with her.
Just when she had lost all hope, a car pulled up beside her and men with guns came out shooting the two men who were after her. Camilla turned to see they had both dropped to the floor.
"Ahhhhh!". She screamed out in fright. That was the first time she had ever seen anyone drop dead in her life. She held her chest as she felt herself going to a panic attack.
"Shhh. You're fine. Breathe Camilla. Breathe. Good girl". Carlos said to Camilla as he held her in his arms.
He had been right to have her followed. God knows what would've happened if he had not followed the taxi that dropped her here. He knew his enemies were up to something but why had they chosen to go after Camilla? Of course he couldn't have her knowing he was the reason she was just attacked.
"Hey, baby you're fine okay. I just need you to breathe for me". Carlos said to her lovingly as he caressed her hair but Camila instead pushed him off of her.
"I'm not your baby. Don't call me that!". Camilla screamed at him before breaking into tears.
Carlos watched her as she cried holding herself. He couldn't blame her for her reaction. This was probably the first time she was in real danger and with the gunshots and dead men, she must've been overwhelmed.
"Please Camilla, let me take you to a safe place. As you've seen already, this place isn't safe". Carlos explained to her, handing her a handkerchief to dry her tears.
"No. I don't need anything from you. Please just leave me alone". Camilla said stubbornly as she glared at Carlos.
"Very well then. Take her". Carlos commanded his men and immediately one of them grabbed Camila, hauling her over his shoulder as he forcefully put her in the car.
Camilla struggled the entire way to Carlos mansion. She had figured that was where he was taking her. She wondered if Reynaldo was aware of what his uncle was doing to her. Why was Juan Carlos so interested in her? Why couldn't he just forget about her?
Camilla was escorted into the mansion by Carlos guards to ensure that she didn't run. When she went inside she was taken to Carlos' study where he was standing waiting for her.
"Leave us". He commanded his guards and they all left the study leaving just him and Camilla alone.
"Why? Why are you doing this? What do you want from me?". Camilla asked immediately.
"Would you like something to eat? My chef is the best in the country and trust he can make you whatever you'd like to eat".Carlos responded ignoring the question.
"Please just let me go". Camilla pleaded but Carlos only chuckled, pouring her a glass of water and handing it to her.
"I don't need anything from you! Why won't you just let me be? Why? Why are you keeping me here against my will?". Camilla asked.
"Against your will?". Carlos asked her with amazement tinted in his voice.
"Yes! Against my will! You do know this is kidnapping right? I could have you reported for this". Camilla threatened which made Carlos scoff.
He knew Camilla reporting him to the police wasn't something he was scared of. The authorities answered to him and not the other way round. He looked at the girl standing in front of him and saw the sadness and desperation in her eyes. Damn his nephew for what he had done to her, Camila deserved the best and nothing but the best.
He knew he couldn't force her to be his but he could at least give her an irresistible offer that would make her his. After last night, he couldn't get his mind off her which was something he'd never experienced before. Camilla caught his eyes and he must have her at all cost.
"I have a proposal for you Camilla and your freedom depends on the answer you give to me". Carlos said to her with his hands folded.
"What is it?". Camila asked haughtily. She wanted to leave there immediately, just seeing him reminded her of their encounter last night.
"I know Reynaldo has hurt you beyond your expectations and I'd like to help you get revenge back on him". Carlos said to her watching her reaction.
Camila moistened her lips as she stared at Carlos, unsure of what he would say next. Surely she wanted Reynaldo to pay for the way he had treated her but at what cost?
"And in return?" She finally asked Carlos.
"In return my dear Camila, you have to become my girlfriend on a contract." Carlos said, dropping the bombshell. His face twitched briefly as he dropped the glass of water she'd earlier refused.
Camilla shrieked. She'd just left the nephew and now his uncle wanted her? Is she trying to get herself into more trouble?
"No, I'm not interested!" She grumbled, standing up. "Thanks for your help, Carlos, but I'm leaving" Camilla left his living room heading outside, and just as she reached the entrance, her eyes caught from afar, the devil himself approaching the doorway. She looked around, thinking of what to do, her name was called unexpectedly from behind.
It was Carlos who followed her all the way outside. Without thinking twice, she moved to him, wrapping her arms around his neck and slamming her lips onto his, instigating a kiss.
The shock on Reynaldo's face couldn't be measured as he saw his recently rejected fiance with his uncle. His veins popped angrily and he clenched his fists. "What are you doing here you slut?" He yelled out loudly, grabbing Camilla's arms and pulling her off his uncle forcibly.
He tried slapping her but his hands were hung in the air by Carlos who grabbed his wrist immediately. "What do you think you're doing little nephew? How dare you try to touch my woman?" He questioned in rage.
Reynaldo's eyes rolled in confusion, he'd thought that Camilla was trying to seduce his uncle, however, it seemed to be the other way round.
"Y.. your woman?" He asked, unable to speak furthe
