Soon enough, Another 3 months passed and it was nearly time for the chunin exams.
During this period of time, Their schedule changed once they completed 50 D-rank missions and D-rank missions were soon replaced by an extra C-rank mission instead. But all the C-rank they did now were all bandit extermination to familiarize them with killling.
As for training, the Senju clan hired a samurai from the land of iron to teach Tetsuya Kenjutsu.
Also, Senju Magaru finally decided to teach him B-rank earth jutsus specifically: The Iron skin jutsu (Kakuzu's jutsu that turns his hands black), Earth spike and the earth fist.
Using his merits, he exchanged 2 C-rank jutsu called Lightning release: Lightning ball. It was a simple technique that created multiple Lighning balls around him and propelled them at the opponent.
the other one was Lightning release: Thunderbird which created a big bird made of lightning in front of him and launched it towards the enemy.
The weights he was wearing now were totaling 120kg which will probably stay that way until he reaches adulthood since more would just hinder his growth according to Magaru.
He was now at 158cm but he hoped to be at least 175cm before he reached adulthood.
...
The chunin exam actually happened twice a year, both in july and december.
The one in July is the more prestigious one. Only ninjas under the age of 18 can participate in this one. This exam is mostly done to show off the rising stars of konoha to various nobles and potential employers.
That's why the third phase is done in a public arena. The reason why there's a month of rest before the 2nd and 3rd phase is probably to hype up the candidates.
As for the December chunin exam, They just assess the candidates's knowledge and combat capability if it reaches the requirements.
As for jonin exam, The treshold to becoming a jonin is completing 150 B-rank missions. After completing 100-B rank missions, They can be considered an elite chunin.
The jonin exam is a team exam and the assignement is to complete 10 A-rank missions.
For Elite jonin title, it is just given to jonins who accomplished 100 or more A-rank missions, not an official position.

1st July Year 57 of Konoha
It was now time for the chunins exams.
As Tetsuya and his team entered the examination room, He noticed that most of the applicants were from konoha with some teams from Kusagakure and Amegakure.
"There is no one from the other great villages. The only reason Suna participated in the chunin exam was probably for the Konoha collapse plan.
These teams from minor village will probably be prime targets for everyone during the second exam.
Imagine sending your ninjas for a chunin exam and they're just treated as Exp packs to assert Konoha's dominance over you."
Isao and his team also participated but they didn't approach each other due to Isao telling him that during the chunin exams they would be adversaries when they set out in the morning.
All teams from his class were here too except Team 4 and 8. One of the people from team 8 was injured during a mission gone wrong while team 4 got wiped out by a C-rank mission turning A-rank. The corpses of the genins were found but the jonin-sensei's corpse was missing. The jonin-sensei's corpse was probably taken by their attacker for bounty exchange purposes.
"Fame really isn't a good thing in this world. I'll have to be as stealthy as I can once I reach Jonin as to not attract useless attention."
Soon, Morino Ibiki arrived in the exam room.
Ibiki soon explained the rules of the first exam.
"It was just a rehash of the exam from the main story. How unoriginal and uninspired. This is probably why that exam had so much candidates left."
Tetsuya grinned when he saw the questions. He prepared for this eventuality and gave Hirata and Kayo a copy seal beforehand.
He could just wait for Hirata to finish his exam since he could just cheat using byakugan and then get his answers but he decided to do it himself for flex purposes since he learned how to do these questions, just in case.
The exam continued while candidates were eliminated every now and then.
After the 10th question, Only 63 people were left after more than a hundred people left or were eliminated.
...
Shortly after that, the proctor for the second exam arrived and escorted them to the forest of death.
The rules were exactly the same as the one in the main story.
Nothing much happened in the second exam either except when Tetsuya got caught in the genjutsu of an Amegakure genin and nearly got injured.
Other than that nothing much happened. The Ame genins had the scroll they needed so they headed full speed towards the tower and succesfully cleared the exam on their first day.
...
5 days soon elapsed and only 5 teams were able to clear the 2nd exam.
2 of the other teams are from his class, one team being Isao's team and the other team being composed of Aburame Shidare, Hyuga Seiya and Sarutobi Maiko.
the 2 other teams left were a 15 year old Ino-Shika-Cho trio and the other team were a group of 2 civilians and a Kurama who failed last year's chunin exam so they decided to form a temporary team to pass the exam this year.
As expected, only Konoha ninjas are present.
...
Hiruzen soon arrived and did a long speech about the will of fire and the responsability of ninjas.
There wasn't a preliminary since the number of teams were quite small.
As the lots for the third exam were drawn,
Tetsuya was awarded the seed place so he would just have to do 3 matches instead of 4 like the others.
Tetsuya's first opponent would most likely Hyuga Seiya since his opponent is one of the civilians.
As for his second round opponent it would be either Hyuga Hirata or Senju Isao.
His opponent in the finals would probably be Uchiha Yuzume.
"Isn't this chunin exam just a class reunion with extra steps?"
