It was 6am that morning and Chloe was still in bed. She had deliberately ignored Elora's wake up calls. She wasn't going to attend the ballet lessons even if it was a do or die.
"Chloe, I know you can hear me. Stand up, it's time for you to get ready for your ballet lessons." She said to the stubborn kid. The little girl ignored her words pretending to still be asleep. Elora knew she was pretending to still be asleep. After calling her several times, she was already getting frustrated but tried to calm herself down. She let out a sigh.
"Well, I'm leaving since you're still asleep." She said as walked out of the room, closing the door halfway. Chloe opened her eyes and saw she had left. She sat and smiled mischievously.
"Yes! I knew she'd give up sooner or later!" She exclaimed with victory as she got up from the bed, dancing victoriously like as though she had won a trophy.
"Aha! I caught you. I knew you weren't asleep!" Elora's voice echoed in the room as she stepped into the room catching Chloe red-handed. The little girl let out a frustrated grunt.
"You just don't give up, do you??" She questioned.
"Well I do most times. But for your case.... hell no! There's no way I'll give up." The young lady frowned at her statement.
"Go and get ready.... the coachman will be here soon." She ordered.
"Make me!" The girl said as she backed away from her. Elora quickly caught hold of her and tickled her and she began to laugh immediately reacting to the tickles, she begged her to stop.
"Please Miss Elora. Please stop! That tickles." She begged as she couldn't stop herself from laughing.
"I won't. Not until you agree to get ready for ballet class and you indeed go and get prepared." She answered.
"Okay! Okay!! I will."
"That doesn't sound genuine."
"I will! I promise.... please just stop." She pleaded. Elora let her go at last.
"Don't do that again please. I'll go prepare." The young lady ran into the bathroom immediately and started preparing for her ballet class.
In twenty minutes, she was set for it and she walked down the stairs with Elora to the dinning room for breakfast.
"Anytime I ask you to do something, just do it immediately." Elora said.
"And if I don't??" A smirk appeared on Elora's face.
"I'm gonna tickle you hard until you do so." She replied, threatening her, seeing that was the way to make the youngster do as she wanted.
"Sheeesh!" Chloe exclaimed.
"How would you like that Chloe?"
"I hate tickles!!"
"Well, we'll see how much you hate it if you don't do as I instruct you to." She replied as she hummed a tone walking down the stairs.
"That sound. What song is that??" Chloe asked.
"It's not a song..... it's a rhyme sweetheart."
"What's a rhyme?" She asked inquisitive.
"Words written in a verse..... you know like a poem."
"Never heard of that."
"Wow. Okay. How about after yoga lessons, we have a rhyme lesson?" She asked.
"That would be nice and you're gonna sing that rhyme for me."
"Okay. I will." She assured her. Chloe smiled. The duo got to the dining table and Chloe sat down to have her breakfast.
The coachman was ready with the carriage waiting for their arrival. Elora and Chloe stepped out of the house communicating like mother and daughter.
"The carriage is ready Miss Elora. May we go now?" He asked.
"Yes. We may. Right Chloe??" She faced the little girl, who simply nodded with a brief smile.
"Let's go." They boarded the carriage as Derrick bid the horses to move. Soon they were on the road heading to the ballet class which was just few meters away from the house.
"Make sure you pay attention to every lesson Chloe else we won't have the rhyme lesson I promised."
"Really??"
"Yes! And I mean it." Chloe let out a sigh.
"Okay Miss Elora. I will pay attention. I promise." She assured her.
"Good. Derrick and I will be waiting her till your classes are over." She opened the carriage door and the little girl stepped out.
Chloe made sure she paid attention to the ballet lessons because she really had interest in learning that rhyme Elora hummed earlier. She didn't want her disinterest in ballet classes prevent her from learning the rhyme. She did all she could to pay attention and her lesson instructor was quite impressed by her performance. It was the first time she had ever seen Chloe follow through the lessons and she even discovered Chloe had lots of ideas on ballet. She had been pretending all the while.
"Excellent performance Chloe. I'm impressed." She said to her. And the little girl gave a courtesy.
Ballet lessons came to an end and Chloe was the first to run out of the school, as she quickly rushed to the carriage where she met Elora and and Derrick who were waiting for her.
"Miss Elora, you should've seen me. My ballet lesson today was quite interesting. My teacher was proud of me." She said in excitement.
"Aww. That's lovely. I'm sure you had a good time?"
"I did. Will you teach me the rhyme?" She asked.
"Of course, I will. You've been a good girl today." She said with a hearty smile.
"Let's go." The got into the carriage as they headed home. They passed through the busy town as Chloe admired the scenario. She had never for once done this but it seemed quite interesting to her.
"I really would like to go there." She stated.
"Will you take me Miss Elora? Dad says I can't go there. He said it isn't safe for me. I wonder why but outside seems harmless." She continued.
"He means it isn't safe for you to go alone. Don't worry. I'll take you there but not today, okay??"
"Okay." She said as she nodded. Elora smiled at her.
"I'm sorry about early this morning. I should have just gotten as you asked me to. Please pardon me." She apologised.
Elora wasn't expecting this apology and was quite touched by it.
"It's okay sweetheart. I have nothing against you." She replied.
"Thank you Miss Elora."
"You're welcome."
