Elora was sore vexed and saddened by how Lord Higgins treated his daughter. She couldn't believe a father could be so mean as that to his biological daughter. So she thought...
"I won't let him hurt this little girl's feelings. She has a right to be loved and treated like the child that she is. Whatever has led to him treating her this way has got to stop and it ends today!" She thought to herself. Elora got up immediately from the bed, leaving the young and sad little girl on her own as she headed to her boss's room with a lot of guts determined to speak a lot of senses into his head.

Charles sat down on the chair at his bedroom balcony watching the silent flowing river view in front of him as he was having a bottle of liquor in hand. He took one shot and exhaled deeply, relaxing his back on the chair. He was trying his very best to ignore what was going on. Just then, a knock was heard from a distance, coming from his bedroom door. He wondered who it was because he had instructed Madam Clara not to send anyone to him or disturb his peace till whenever he decided to come out of his room. He wondered who would have the nerve to come close to his bedroom not to mention knocking on the door. The knock persisted but he chose to ignore.
Elora knocked quite hard on the door but it seemed Charles had chosen to ignore her for certain reasons best known to him which she wasn't aware of. She gave a knock again and heard a response.
"Get the fuck off my doorstep!"
"I would like to speak with you my Lord."
"Elora? You?? Get out here. What gives you the effontery to come close to my door not mention wanting to speak to me. Get the fuck off Elora. I'm your boss remember?" He blurted out in anger. Elora heard every single word of his but said nothing. The door was ajar. She was ready to speak up her mind to him, she didn't care about the consequences... even if it meant her loosing her job. She just wanted Chloe to experience what it meant to have a parent's love. She decided to dare the devil. Elora stepped into the room and walk straight up to where Charles was seated. Fully aware of her presence, he spoke out;
"You really do have a lot of guts Elora? I thought I just instructed you not to come anywhere close to my boundary?" He questioned immediately.
"With due respect Lord Higgins, it wasn't my wish to ignore your order but I had to just to ensure I let you know how disappointed I am in you as a father to your only daughter Chloe."
"What!?" He exclaimed.
"Yes Lord Higgins. For goodness sake, she's your daughter. Your flesh and blood! She deserves to be loved. She deserves the love of her father, lots of it especially in the absence of her mother. Chloe is distraughted. She doubts if you really are her father. Everyday she questions herself wondering why you hate her so much. As little as she is, you're emotionally damaging her and making her go through pains that she isn't suppose to be experiencing as a kid."
"That's enough!" He shouted at her but the resilient lady ignored his command and continued anyway.
"I am not done Lord Higgins. All your daughter wants is to be loved even in the simplest way. You don't show you care about her. You're not even proud of her little achievements, you see them as nothing. All she wanted from you is to be there for her. To be there to boost her morale and push her to do her best. But No! You don't want to have anything to do with her and I don't think you want to. Oh I forgot, you hired a governess for her who i suppose, is to do all the parentimg duty for you...." He cut her shut.
"Enough Elora! Enough!!" He screamed angrily. Her words piercing his innermost being.
"No I am not done talking. Do you think only I can do all the parenting duty for you? Well, if you don't know, the love a child gets from outsiders can never be compared to the love gotten from the parents. When children don't receive the love they deserve while growing, you only plant a seed of hatred which germinates and grows into full blown hatred and once they get to that stage, it becomes difficult to correct. How would you feel of in the nearest future Chloe tells the whole world she hates you and denies you as her father huh?" She stated.
"Stop itttt!!!" He exclaimed.
"Think about this... how would your late wife feel in her grave watching you treat the only the person that connects both of you together. Is this what she would have wanted? Do you think this is what she would have wanted?? Think about it. If Rose was here would you treat Chloe you are right now?..."
"You have no right to mention her name! She was everything to me!" He stated as he became emotional.
"And Chloe?? How about her? Wasn't her mom a part of her world? She barely even has memories of her mum and you are suppose to be the one to keep her memories of her mother alive but instead you purge her with guilt like her existence took her mum away from you. Rose will be very disappointed in you just the way I am." She admitted.
"Stop! Stop it!! Eloraaaa!!" He screamed her name. He was broken by every single word of hers. Still ignoring his command, she continued;
"She will be so disappointed in you for becoming the monster you are right now to Chloe. Would things have been this way if she was alive? Certainly not! So why don't you make it the way it would have been if she were here. Why punish innocent Chloe? Stop this pity party of yours and unnecessary regrets of yours. Stop dragging the innocent girl into your pit of regret. She deserves that at least. If you can't do it for her, do it for Rose!" Charles was gradually get pissed by her stubbornness and he threw the half emptied bottle of liquor in front of him at her which she narrowly ditched and it came crashing on the wall, breaking and falling into pieces on the floor. Elora quickly ran out of the room in fear.
"You're fired Elora. Prepare your stuffs and get ready to leave my house!!" He spoke out loudly and angrily. After which he fell to the ground, breaking down in tears.
