As they reached the dorm, Kiyoto got out of the car. Miyano casually said, "Bye, good night. See you tomorrow at class."
Kiyoto nodded, a faint smile on his lips. "Good night." He watched Miyano drive off, the unease lingering in his chest.
Kiyoto lay on the bed, tired and restless, his mind replaying everything that had happened. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was off, but exhaustion soon took over. His thoughts faded, and before he knew it, he had drifted into a deep, peaceful sleep.
Morning light filtered through the curtains as Kiyoto woke up, feeling the remnants of his deep sleep linger. He reached for his phone, checking the time, but then his eyes froze when he saw the message from the stranger again.
He had promised himself he wouldn't open it, but something pulled him to it. He unlocked the message.
"I dared you, still you didn't understand. What is your relationship with Miyano?"
Kiyoto's heart skipped a beat. His mind raced as the words sank in.
"So, as I thought, it's about Miyano."
Kiyoto's fingers hovered over the keyboard as his heart raced. His mind screamed that he couldn't just leave it unanswered. With a mix of anger and confusion, he quickly typed back.
"Who are you? And why should I tell you about us? He is just my friend, so don't you dare involve him."
He stared at the screen, waiting for a reply, every second feeling like an eternity.
Kiyoto's phone buzzed with the reply, sending a chill down his spine.
"Then it's good for you. Don't get attached to him. He is not like the way you think."
Kiyoto's mind raced, his pulse quickening. The message only deepened his confusion and unease. Who was this person, and what did they know about Miyano? He gripped his phone tighter, but no answer came to him—just more questions.
Washing his face, Kiyoto stared at his reflection in the mirror, the message still lingering in his mind.
Anyway, I don't know much about Miyano, he thought, the water dripping from his face. Other than that he's the son of a rich businessman.
The realization hit him harder than he expected. Despite spending time together, Miyano was still a mystery in many ways.
"I should ask him more about himself," Kiyoto muttered to his reflection, wiping his face with a towel.
He realized how little he truly knew about Miyano beyond the surface. If they were going to spend more time together, it was time to understand the person behind the charm.
As Kiyoto entered the classroom, Miyano walked in right beside him.
"Good morning, Kiyoto," Miyano said with his usual cheerful tone.
"Good morning," Kiyoto replied, glancing at him briefly before heading to their seats.
Walking side by side, Kiyoto couldn't shake the thoughts lingering in his mind but decided to keep them to himself for now.
"So, had a good sleep?" Miyano asked, glancing at Kiyoto as they walked to their seats.
Kiyoto hesitated for a moment before replying, "Yeah... kind of."
Miyano raised an eyebrow, sensing something off but choosing not to push further. "Good, Anyway, we don't have work today, so you can take it easy," he said with a light smile.
"Good morning, Kiyoto-kun and Miyano-kun," said Mimi, the cute-looking girl with a soft voice.
Both of them turned toward her, Miyano flashing his usual friendly smile. "Good morning, Mimi-chan," he replied.
Kiyoto gave a small nod, adding a quiet, "Good morning."
Aio and Kino gave a bright smile when they saw them.
"Good morning! We're a little late because of him," Aio said, nudging Kino playfully. "I had to wait forever."
"I woke up late, that's why," Kino replied, scratching the back of his head.
"Good morning, guys," Miyano greeted with his usual charm. "You both live nearby?"
"Yeah, we're neighbors," Kino said with a grin.
"That's nice," Miyano said, smiling at the two of them.
"What nice?" Aio replied with a frown. "He always finds a way to disturb me. Sometimes it's homework, other times he gets into some kind of trouble," Aio complained, shaking his head.
Kino just shrugged, a sheepish grin on his face. "I can't help it if things happen, right?"
With a playful laugh, Miyano teased, "Anyway, it's good for you both. You get to keep each other company all the time." He grinned, clearly enjoying the moment.
Both of them were clearly uncomfortable with the teasing, but neither of them could deny the warmth that spread through them from the unexpected attention. They quickly tried to change the topic, but the slight blush on their faces remained as Miyano chuckled quietly to himself.
Kiyoto smiled slightly, amused by Miyano's teasing them.
As the class settled, the teacher walked in with a stack of papers. He cleared his throat, drawing everyone's attention.
"Alright, class, I have a new project for you all. This will be a team assignment. You'll be working on a design project together. ".
The students exchanged curious glances. Kiyoto and Miyano, both quiet, looked at each other with uncertainty.
As the teacher announced that it was time to form teams for the upcoming project, the students began to shuffle around, pairing up. Miyano, looking at Kiyoto, casually walked over and with a smile, said, "I choose Kiyoto."
The teacher nodded, writing down the names. Aio and Kino exchanged glances, both surprised at Miyano's choice, but neither said anything.
"Looks like you're stuck with me, Kiyoto," Miyano joked, his tone light.
Kiyoto just smiled faintly, unsure if he was "stuck" or if he was actually glad about it. As Miyano finished choosing him, the rest of the class started forming their groups.
As the teacher finished assigning the initial teams, he added, "Now, for the next part of the project. Two more members from another department will join each team to help out."
The class murmured in surprise. Kiyoto turned to Miyano with a curious expression. "Guess we're getting new teammates," he said.
The teacher called out, "Kiyoto and Miyano, you'll have two students joining your team from the arts department."
Kiyoto raised an eyebrow. "From the arts department?"
Miyano shrugged, "Guess we'll find out who they are soon."
