Garvin heaved a defeated sigh, running a frustrated hand through his hair.
"But where do I even begin to look for little Hope?" he thought, his body tensing with unease. "I don't even know where the baby is."
From what Scarlett had said, her soul might actually be inside Hope's body. If that were true, then she would only retain her memories when Hope grew up.
"That's one hell of a long wait," he mused, his jaw tightening.
But then, if truly that is the case, then he had no choice but to wait until Scarlett came looking for him, if she ever did reincarnate into Hope's body. That uncertainty gnawed at him.
Shaking his head, he muttered, "No point overthinking this right now."
With that, he made his way to his car, slid into the driver's seat, and started the engine.
His thoughts drifted back to the system's directive: The goal is to build Haven so that when the real apocalypse strikes Earth, humans will know where to find refuge.
