Ella was a little confuse, some actions of his reminded her of her childhood friend and her confusion settled when she saw Hubert with Marcia and they seemed too friendly
When her boss left, she rushed to Hubert
"Oh Ella long time"
"Yh"
"You're as beautiful as I remember, how are you" Hubert said
"Earlier I saw you with someone"
"Oh that was Eli oh if you had come earlier you two would have met." Hubert said and they talked a little
Hubert talked about how Eli would always rush to met her and protect her, he talked about how when he traveled he asked him to protect her
"He lost his phone when he traveled because of his father's illness" Hubert said
"Was his father's illness that serious" she asked
"Yes"
"Why didn't he tell me?" Ella asked
"Because it was impromptu. When he got his number back, he called you but that number was not available, he had that number in his heart and you never called him, he waited for your call but it never came he asked me to approach you for it but I was too shy to do that so I kept his other request of making sure you were alright but after graduation I had a life to live, I hope you two find the happiness you seek for, he loves you so much and you two would have been together by now if you had called. Why didn't you call?" Hubert said
"Yh why didn't I call again?" She asked in her mind
"Ok I have to go, here's his number call him" Hubert said and left
The next day she saw him and just looked at him
That week he didn't spare her any attention, office time came to an end and he worked overtime and Ella was waiting for Manuel he told her to wait for him he left work early to do something
Marcia came outside and saw her waiting.
he tried his best not to look at her and she was not making it any better because she was staring at him
"Are you waiting for your boyfriend" he asked
"Huh?!!" She said and he was hoping she was going to say she's not
"Yes" she said and he just nodded, the place was quiet, he saw his driver
"Ok then see you" he said
Ella moved to catch up to him
"Eli" she said softly and he stopped and turned around but he saw Manuel and left her alone
His focus was on work and he was stressing himself out and wasn't eating right
He worked overtime and he was not feeling good, he couldn't breathe and he wanted water but he fell unconscious luckily Ella wanted to talk to him so waited. His office was too quiet and Ella was at first contemplating on whether to go inside or not but she ended going inside and she was glad she did
She rushed towards his side and sprinkled some water on him, he opened his eyes but wasn't feeling good
"Why didn't you wait for me, why why" he said after seeing her
She called his driver and they rushed him to the hospital
"He's just tired and he wasn't eating well" the doctor said as she waited for him to wake up
He woke up and saw her
"Is it a dream or you're here my girl, let me hug you for it's only in my dreams I can do that" he said and hugged her and it turned out he was half unconscious
Ella left that place and cried
"What am I going to do" she asked there was a lot on her mind
He took one week off and when he returned he had to work with Ella because Victoria was on leave about a new product design
"How are you" she asked and he was happy
"I am fine…. Thank you for helping me otherwise I would have been dead" he said with laughter and she wasn't smiling
After business
"Take care of yourself my friend" she said and left and he was happy
"Maybe I can still get her back even if I don't get her as my love I can get my best friend back" he smiled
Ella was confused about her feelings
"You're always thinking what is going on" Manuel asked when escorting her home
"Nothing" she said
"Hey Ella remember I am and will always be there for you, share your thoughts with me when you're ready and I'll be there for you…. I love you" Manuel said and left
Ella smiled
"This is why I accepted to be your girlfriend, you always put me first, you care for me so much" she thought
She met Manuel five years ago, he was patient with her, he cared for her and loved her and stayed despite her constant rejection until she decided to give him a chance three years ago and he has not for once disappointed her,
She couldn't hurt him so she stayed away from Marcia
