In the year 2150, the world has advance a lot that mankind has started exploring other planets in the milky galaxy and inhabiting and exploring them for resources and search for other species.
After inhabiting four planets apart from Earth namely Gaia,Jord,Terra and Geb which are gods of earth in different mythology. Mankind created portal to make transportation easy and smooth. Back on Earth, a company created a virtual reality game called "Eçho."
In a district in Lagos, Nigeria. A young man who just got off his part-time work is on his way home. Taking the hover bus, he was going through his phone looking at the news about the virtual reality game thinking of the release of the game which is happening tonight.
Temi arrived at his house and looked at the capsule in his room and sigh before going into the kitchen to prepare his dinner before the release of the game. While eating, he was listening to the news which was talking about the game "Eçho". On the news, the newscasters were discussing about the how the game will be.
"The games is very interesting according to the beta tester who had tried the game" said newscaster 1 who looks like he is about to leave his seat to go home.
"I am excited right now, the word on everyone's lips is Eçho so I can't wait to try the game" said newscaster 2 who is also excited and ready for action.
"About the class which one will you choose, Mr James because I will be going down the warrior path" said newscaster 1.
"Well I will be going down the mage path because I don't think the warrior path or any other path fits me" said James who fixes his glasses well.
"And from what I have heard, there will be in game currency exchange with real money." said newscaster 1.
"Well Okafor, that is true but the company has not update us about the date which the exchange will start but everyone be prepared for the announcement because it will be game changer within the game." said James.
" Do you know the five great families are participating in the game and will be creating the clan once the clan function is available." said Okafor.
" Wait, you mean the Rothschild, Hermes, Mars, Walton and the Al Nahyan families?" asked James.
" That is true, the Rothschild's are based on Earth, the Hermes's are based on Gaia, the Mars are based on Jord, the Walton are based on Terra and the Al Nahyan are based on Geb planet." said Okafor
" Well people from the same planet will be placed on the same continent and there are 6 continent in the game which will house the five planets and a continent will be the meeting point for each planet but the average level of the continent is high." said James.
" There are also five realms in the games namely the mortal realm, the celestial realm, the demon realm, the underworld realm and the astral plane respectively." said Okafor while adjusting his seat.
"I don't think I need to explain the realms for all of our viewer but let me briefly explain it for you. So the mortal realm is where we will all start the game while the celestial realm which consist of angels and seraphims, the demon realms which is ruled by the council of nine consisting of goblin,imp, lesser demon etc, the underworld is ruled by the overlord of the damned consisting of undead such as wraith, ghost, skeleton, death knight etc and the astral plane is ruled by the celestial entity will only be available at a specific level or someone triggers the realm's quest which could jump start the two realms getting involved in the mortal realm." said James.
" And also the mortal realm consist of four major races namely the human, the elves, the gnomes and the dwarfs and under these races will there be sub races such the human race for example there will be the barbarian race under it since barbarians are also human too." said the Okafor.
" By the way Okafor, which race will you be starting with since you said warrior because I will be going with elves due to affinity with elements." asked James.
" I will remain a human because other race doesn't have the potential of warrior than a human." said Okafor.
"That is true so I will advise everyone to go through the manual so you can decide what race you will be starting with as there are path made specific for some races." said James
" Now let talk the time rate which ratio of 1:1 and the 7pm at night in real life will be 7am in game so it won't disturb our daily life routine." said Okafor.
" Thank you Okafor for discussing it because I know it is the question on the mind of majority of us as they are worried about this a lot as they were thinking will the game disturb our daily life. No, it will not as the company has taken in the work routine of majority as a aspect of the game and everyone will be logged of by 7am in the morning in aspect of our health." said James.
"So everyone,we have said enough now it is all up to you to look out for the launch of Eçho which will start in 2 hours" said Okafor.
"We don't have much more to say tonight so everyone stay safe and prepare the launch so good night and good bye" said James as they finish of the news broadcast.
Temi switch of his TV and check his phone for the time which is 10:56pm and the launch of the game is 12'o clock midnight. As he finished doing the dishes, his phone rang and he check to who it is, only to find out it was his best friend in high school, Bolu.
"EÇHO!!!!" shouted Bolu through the phone which made Temi winch in anger.
"Guy, you need to stop this your behavior or else I will cut ties with you" said Temi with a furious voice.
"Bro calm down, i was just excited about the game launch and nothing else" apologized Bolu immediately with a calm voice.
"Good, you are no longer a kid so grow up and try to act your age, you are 21 for god sake" reprimanded Temi.
"Geez take it easy, you are acting like my mom between you and my mom i don't know who is scary just thinking of you and my mom scolding me together is giving me the chills" said Bolu with a shaking voice.
"What did you call me for?" asked Temi.
"Well you know my dad works for the Rothschild family so now he has been posted to the branch office planet Terra to work there." said Bolu.
" That's great, Congratulations so will you be moving to planet Terra with your dad or what?" asked Temi.
" Well he said he couldn't allow us to stay on Earth while he is far away so we will be moving to Terra with him. This is so embarrassing I mean I am 21 years old and he still treat as a 5 years old kid." said Bolu in a frustrated voice.
" Well you have no choice than to follow him or can you feed yourself if you are left behind here on Earth?" asked Temi.
" I know I don't have a job but that is not what I meant." said Bolu.
" So what do you meant?" asked Temi.
" I mean moving to Terra means I will have to change school and you know it is hard for me to make friends in even here on Earth so how do you want me to cope with that huh?" asked Bolu.
" Why don't you convince him to let you stay with me since I lived alone and my place is a little big for only me." said Temi.
" For real will you let me live with you?" asked Bolu in an excited voice.
" Why not what are we friends for if I can't even help my best friend so once you are able to convince him to let you stay on Earth just chat me up." said Temi.
" Okay, I will go and inform him and ask for his permission because I won't be able to cope over there in Terra, so talk to you later." said Bolu as he hanged up the phone.
Temi sighed as he dropped the phone and looked at frame on the wall which consist of his parents with him and baby sister while staring he started crying.
" Why did you leave me, Dad?" said Temi as he sat on his couch.
Temi remember the day 15 years ago when he lost his parents in a hover car accident on Geb but the bodies of his parents where never found so the father's partner said that his father borrowed a loan from the bank before his death and he was not able to pay it so the bank confiscated his father's property.
Since he could not afford to live on Geb anymore he sent back to Earth to stay in an orphanage till he becomes old enough to take care of himself. Enduring the behavior of the caretakers he left the orphanage at the age of 19 when he gained admission to the best university in Nigeria called University of Lagos.
Temi Shaked his head and checked the time to see it is 11:50pm, he changed into his nightwear and laid in the capsule to wait for the launch of the game.
Once it was 12 midnight he put VR headset on and close the capsule saying the phrase.
