Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Curis walks to the village's quest board, scanning the available quest. He noticed a few that caught his attention.

Quest 1: Missing Blacksmith

The village blacksmith, Babatunde, has gone missing. His workshop is in disarray, and his apprentice is worried. Find Babatunde and bring him back.

Quest 2: Goblin Infestation

Goblins have been raiding the nearby village. Eliminate the Goblin leader and destroy their hideout.

Quest 3: Lost Artifact

Retrieve the legendary Sword of Oko, said to be hidden in the ancient ruins of Ile-Ife. The sword is rumored to grant immense strength to its wielder.

Curis decides to accept all three quests for the long run. Taking them off the board, he went to Babatunde's workshop first since it is the easiest of all three.

Arriving at Babatunde's workshop, he met a commotion going on as an adventurer had came to ask for Babatunde but he is not around so the customer is causing a tantrum demanding refunds as he had paid for a weapon and brought the materials and Babatunde has not yet delivered it.

"Where is your boss? I paid him since two weeks ago for a weapon but he has not yet delivered whenever I come here, he is not always around, so tell me where is he?" shouted the adventurer using his massive build to intimidating the apprentice.

"I don't know where he is sir, the last time I saw him was six days ago when he left to find a material in the forest since then I have never seen him. Infact I pasted a quest note on the quest board maybe someone could help me find him," said the apprentice.

" Hmm, I give you 3 days, if i come back and I didn't get my weapon, I will make sure to shut down your shop," said the adventurer before leaving the workshop angrily.

Curis looked at the adventurer as he walked past him, after the adventurer left, he entered the workshop and saw the apprentice in deep thoughts.

"Ehm ehm, hello I am Curis an adventurer, I saw your quest on the notice board," said Curis towards the apprentice.

" Sorry, I didn't noticed that someone has came in, this place has been since i couldn't find my boss. Could you help me to find him, the last time I heard of him was when he left for the forest to get some materials?" said the apprentice in a depressed voice.

Entering the house, Curis was shocked to see a robust man with bulging muscles instead of a frail and weak man on the seat sipping his tea.

"Don't be surprised, I know that I have massive build well it is because I was once and adventurer like you but now I'm retired so I decide to become the village chief of my hometown," said the chief as he was already used to that kind of expression.

"Sorry, I don't expect to see someone as huge as you as the village chief. By the way, my name is Curis an adventurer, I picked the Goblin quest from the notice board," said Curis as he compose himself.

" Don't worry, my name is Akindele and am the village chief of this village. About the Goblin quest, this is what happened," said Akindele before continuing.

"Three months ago, a village in the northern side of here was attacked by Goblins so every other village tighten their security but not long after another village was attacked again. So for the past three months, more than 9 villages have been destroyed by the evil demon spawn, a survivor from one of the villages told me that there is a goblin leader leading the other goblins if not their village could not be destroyed," said Akindele before sipping his tea.

" So what are we going to do now?" asked Curis.

" That was why I pasted the quest on the quest board, the hideout of their camp is in the forest so I will give you a map for your guidance," said Akindele.

" Coincidentally I also have a quest to carry out in the forest about the missing blacksmith, Babatunde who went missing seven days ago," said Curis.

" Ahh, about Babatunde disappearance, I was the one who told his apprentice to put up a notice on the quest board because he is the only blacksmith we have in this village so if you find him and eradicate the goblin camp, I will be very grateful," said Akindele.

NOTE: Curis stats is different from that of an average player as his beginning stats are twice that of others and his luck is six times of an average player, which make sense as to how he was able to get a divine item in the welcome box and the reason why his stats are different will be explained later in the novel.
