As the night descended, replacing the scorching sun of Dusthaven with the white moon, cooling the heat of the day, the carriage slowly crossed the Windspear and entered the Capital's east gate.
Inside the carriage, Kael slept peacefully, leaning against Mirabella, who subconsciously wrapped her hands around his shoulder to prevent him from falling on the rocky path through the Windspear. On her lap, Pipo snored loudly, wrapping his hands around her waist and pressing his face against her belly, sleeping like a baby.
Eros sat grimly on the opposite side of the seat with his hands folded across his chest. He glared at the two figures cocooned around his little birdie. Losing his patience, he stood up in the moving carriage and picked up the sleeping monkey before dropping him on the carriage floor unceremoniously.
