Tien Shinhan's words immediately attracted the attention of all the other contestants. In the previous tournament, Tien Shinhan's Four Demon Fist had amazed everyone present; had it not been for John's overwhelming strength, Tien Shinhan would have likely won against opponents of equal power.
As Tien Shinhan began to gather energy, his aura surged dramatically, displacing the air around the ring. Those closest to the stage felt a wave of heat and found it difficult to breathe. However, they were reluctant to leave the area, as those behind them were pushing forward.
With a loud shout, Tien Shinhan suddenly split into two, then four, creating four copies of himself.
Krillin and Yamcha exclaimed, "Is that the Afterimage Technique?"
Goku quickly countered, "No, this isn't an Afterimage Technique; all four Tien Shinhan have energy; they seem to be real."
"If there are four Tien Shinhan, doesn't that mean John has to face four? Can he really handle that?" Krillin worriedly asked.
Goku replied, "Even with four Tien Shinhan, it doesn't mean his strength is quadrupled. It won't be easy for Tien Shinhan to win."
Krillin pondered Goku's words but was still unsure. Just as he was about to ask more questions, the two sides began to engage again.
The four Tien Shinhan attacked John with eight arms. However, John easily dodged their attacks despite their multiple limbs.
As Tien Shinhan attacked, John's super comprehension kicked in. The disparity in strength allowed him to easily perceive the trajectories of Tien Shinhan's Four Body Fist.
In just a few minutes, John learned how to use Tien Shinhan's Four Body Fist and even improved upon its weakness of reduced strength after using it.
Dodging Tien Shinhan's attack, John leaped into the air and said, "Tien Shinhan, since you've used your ultimate move, let me show you mine—what I just learned from you."
"What?!" Tien Shinhan exclaimed as he saw John create multiple flickering images of himself in mid-air—now there were five Johns flying above.
Seeing this, even Goku's calm demeanor changed slightly. However, upon closer inspection, he noticed the weakness in John's modified version of the Four Body Fist.
The others lacked Goku's level of power and perception; they only saw five incredibly realistic Johns in the sky and wondered how they could possibly defeat even one of them.
"This is impossible!" Tien Shinhan was likely the most shocked; only he knew that both the Four Demon Fist and Four Body Fist were innate skills of their three-eyed race. Normally, people from other races shouldn't be able to learn them.
Realizing this, Tien Shinhan calmed down and said, "What you're using isn't my Four Body Fist; it just looks a bit similar."
John nodded and replied, "I've already mentioned that your Four Body Fist is indeed powerful but has a critical weakness. What I'm using has been improved by me."
Tien Shinhan didn't believe this. The four copies of him charged at John's five figures to prove that his ultimate move was superior.
John remained still while sending his four copies toward Tien Shinhan.
The two sets of fighters clashed in mid-air. Although Tien Shinhan wanted to prove that his ultimate move was stronger, the reality was that he couldn't even defeat John's four copies.
Before long, each of John's copies delivered a final blow to each of the four Tien Shinhan copies, knocking them out of the ring.
Outside the ring, Tien Shinhan merged back into one form while John's four copies vanished like bubbles with a "pop," leaving only John slowly descending from above.
"The winner is contestant John!" the host announced loudly.
Although many spectators didn't fully understand what happened, they still gave enthusiastic applause.
Tien Shinhan followed John to the martial arts tournament's resting area and asked, "John, you said my Four Body Fist has a weakness; what is it?"
John turned to him and explained: "Your weakness is that when you split into four bodies, each one loses strength—each only has about 80% of your original power."
"In a battle between experts, even a slight difference in power can be crucial. If you're up against an opponent with equal or greater strength, they can easily defeat each one separately."
"What about your modified Four Body Fist? Does it not have this weakness?" Tien Shinhan continued asking.
John replied: "My version is based on yours; however, each copy only has 20% of my strength and I can create up to nine copies without any reduction in my own power."
Hearing this made Tien Shinhan's expression change as he fell silent.
John patted Tien Shinhan on the shoulder and said: "After the tournament ends, I'll teach you this improved version of the Four Body Fist since it's essentially your technique I learned."
Tien Shinhan nodded gratefully but didn't say anything further.
After John and Tien Shinhan's match concluded, the next battle would be between Shin and Yamcha.
If Yamcha hadn't witnessed Shin decisively defeating Tao Pai Pai earlier that day, he would never believe that this elderly man who looked like he had been drinking was a powerful fighter.
However, what he saw that morning made it clear: he needed to be cautious; this old man was indeed formidable.
The host introduced both fighters before announcing the start of the match.
With the sound of a gong signaling the beginning of combat, Yamcha wasted no time and directly launched his new Wolf Fang Fist at Shin.
Unfortunately for him, Shin's strength exceeded his expectations; all of Yamcha's new attacks were easily blocked by Shin. Ultimately, Yamcha received an elbow strike right to his cheek.
Yamcha rubbed his face in pain while looking at Shin with frustration.
Shin smiled and pointed out Yamcha's flaws: "Your moves are too flashy; there are too many unnecessary actions. Young man, do you particularly enjoy showing off your fancy techniques in front of girls? That's a weakness you need to address."
Master Roshi knew his disciple well enough to recognize this flaw in Yamcha's fighting style. He had mentioned it before but Yamcha never took it seriously.
Hearing someone else point out his shortcomings made Roshi nod in agreement.
Yamcha was aware of this flaw; he had made significant changes over time but still unconsciously resorted to flashy movements—like those he had developed during three years of intense training.
