"Welcome to West City Television. Recently, Capsule Corporation has launched their latest capsule products, which can contain houses, weapons, airplanes, cars, and more. We can solemnly announce that everything in the world can now be stored in these tiny capsules. Everyone is welcome to visit the stores to make their purchases."
"Furthermore, Capsule Corporation is formally launching a trade-in program..."
While the beautiful TV presenter was still enthusiastically promoting West City's Capsule Corporation, John had already lost interest in the content being shown on TV.
John couldn't believe how he had crossed over into the Dragon Ball world. Was this a world meant for ordinary people?
This was truly a world where powerful beings walked the streets and even gods were as common as dogs. Most crucially, John couldn't clearly remember the Dragon Ball storyline anymore. He had only watched Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z as a child, and as for Dragon Ball Super that came out later, he had only heard about some of its content but had never watched the plot.
John pondered about his future, wondering how he could survive through the crises of King Piccolo, Frieza, Cell, and others.
(Should you introduce what you did in your previous life and how you crossed over to the Dragon Ball world?)
(Is that necessary? No need to introduce it, because no reader would care about how I crossed over to the Dragon Ball world.)
Over these past few days, John had confirmed that he didn't have any of the typical benefits of someone who crossed over - no system, no special abilities, nothing at all.
Suddenly, John slapped his forehead. He realized he was being stupid - weren't the Dragon Balls the greatest cheat code in this world? With the Dragon Balls, what other advantages did he need?
Other people's special abilities came with conditions, but with the Dragon Balls? Just collect all seven, make a wish, and basically any wish could be granted without any conditions.
The second cheat code in the Dragon Ball world was the Saiyans. If Son Goku was the author's favorite child, then the Saiyans were the tribal brothers of the author's favorite child - they were incredibly overpowered.
Therefore, to survive in the Dragon Ball world, he had to transform his body into a Saiyan's body. Only then would he have the ability to face those universal powerhouses.
Said and done - the first task was to search for the Dragon Balls, and to find them, he needed the Dragon Radar.
Only Bulma could make the Dragon Radar, so meeting Bulma and getting her involved in the Dragon Ball search was John's primary task.
Bulma was famous in West City because her father was Dr. Brief, the president of Capsule Corporation and the world's richest man.
As the daughter of Capsule Corporation's president, it wasn't difficult to get information about Bulma.
Bulma was currently 16 years old, attending her first year at West City High School. John vaguely remembered that Bulma was indeed 16 when she first appeared in the story, but she went collecting Dragon Balls during summer vacation.
High school had been in session for three months now, with just over a month until summer vacation. Therefore, John needed to tell Bulma about the Dragon Balls before she discovered their secret herself.
That evening, when West City High School let out, John positioned himself along Bulma's usual route home.
Soon, Bulma came riding toward John's position on her magnetic hover motorcycle. John aimed carefully and shot a coin that struck the magnetic hovering device on Bulma's motorcycle.
Immediately, Bulma's motorcycle lost power and came to a sudden stop, throwing her off the vehicle.
"Ah!" Bulma never expected to be so unlucky as to be thrown off her bike.
Seeing herself about to face-plant into the ground, Bulma closed her eyes in fear.
Suddenly, Bulma felt herself being caught in a warm embrace, and she didn't feel any pain.
Then she heard a warm, magnetic male voice in her ear, "Are you alright?" The tone was full of concern.
Bulma finally opened her eyes and saw a face that left her somewhat disappointed.
She hadn't expected that someone with such a pleasant voice would have such an ordinary face.
Actually, the face John had crossed over into wasn't ugly, just a bit chubby, which made him look somewhat ordinary.
"I'm fine, thank you for saving me." Although the face disappointed Bulma, she still politely thanked John.
After speaking, Bulma walked over to her motorcycle to check what had gone wrong and why it had suddenly lost power.
John wasn't bothered; he knew that with his current face, it would be very difficult to quickly gain Bulma's favor. It was already quite good that she didn't dislike him and had thanked him.
John walked to Bulma's side and asked, "How's the motorcycle? Can it still run?"
By now, Bulma had discovered the coin in the gap of the motorcycle's footboard, which had cut off the magnetic field generator.
Bulma said, "No, the bike's magnetic field generator has been damaged by this coin. It needs to be taken home for repairs." After speaking, Bulma pressed a button on the motorcycle.
With a "pop!" sound, the damaged motorcycle transformed into a tiny capsule that fell into Bulma's hand, which she then put into her schoolbag.
John proactively asked, "Do you have any other means of transportation?"
Bulma shook her head and said, "I didn't expect the motorcycle to break down, so I didn't bring any other transportation. Now it looks like I'll have to walk home, but fortunately, it's not too far from here."
John said, "Then let me walk you home. There's been a group of robbers in West City lately, so it's not very safe."
The robbers were real - a gang had robbed a West City bank, so John wasn't worried about Bulma thinking he had ulterior motives.
Bulma nodded, accepting John's offer, and they walked together toward her home, which was also Capsule Corporation headquarters.
Bulma was an outgoing girl who got along easily with everyone. Although John wasn't her type, it didn't mean she disliked him, so she asked, "What's your name? I'm Bulma."
John answered, "My name is John."
"John, that name really matches your appearance - quite ordinary indeed." Bulma casually stabbed John in the heart.
John immediately pretended to clutch his chest and said with an exaggerated expression, "Those words really hurt my feelings. After all, I am your lifesaver!"
