On the weekend, Bulma had a day off from school.
According to their Dragon Ball collection plan, John drove a motorcycle with Bulma towards the northern suburbs of West City.
John parked the motorcycle outside the mountains and, holding a machete, led Bulma towards the mountains.
Because this mountain was located on the outskirts of West City, people often came here to picnic on their days off. For the safety of the public, the National Guard would occasionally clean up North Mountain.
Bulma did not think there would be any danger in North Mountain; she walked confidently ahead with the Dragon Ball radar in her hand.
John followed behind her, holding the machete to protect her safety.
Although Bulma had smoothly obtained the Dragon Ball here in the manga, who knew if the plot would change because of him?
"We're almost there; it should be nearby," Bulma said, then looked at John, who was nervously holding the machete.
"Don't be so tense; there isn't that much danger. Look, aren't we safe right now?" Bulma comforted him.
Just as Bulma finished speaking, a rustling sound came from the bushes. Something was rapidly approaching them.
Hearing this, Bulma, who was already timid, immediately ran behind John.
"Is there a monster coming?" Bulma asked, trembling.
John said, "It's okay, it's probably just a wild animal."
The rustling sound got closer and closer. Suddenly, a huge wild boar burst out of the bushes, lowered its head, and charged towards John with its sharp tusks gleaming.
Bulma was so scared that she quickly realized hiding behind John might not be safe, so she turned and hid behind a big tree.
John took a deep breath and was ready to deal with the wild boar, but to his surprise, the wild boar didn't stop and ran past him, heading into the distance.
Just as John let out a sigh of relief, a saber-toothed tiger suddenly jumped out of the bushes.
It was clear that the saber-toothed tiger was chasing the wild boar, but after seeing John, it suddenly turned its attention to him.
Looking at John holding the machete, the saber-toothed tiger didn't care at all. It roared and pounced at John.
It opened its mouth wide, with long, sharp canine teeth reflecting the light in the air, making John momentarily dazzled.
John reacted quickly, dodging to the side before the saber-toothed tiger pounced, then delivered a side kick to its waist as it landed.
The saber-toothed tiger was kicked into the air, crashed into a nearby tree, and fell heavily to the ground.
John hadn't used his full strength, so the saber-toothed tiger got up quickly. However, it seemed injured, as its movements were not as agile as before.
The saber-toothed tiger crouched down again, preparing to attack. John also got into a defensive stance.
Then the saber-toothed tiger roared and fled into the bushes.
Yes, it fled. Bulma, who was cheering loudly for John, was unhappy and scolded the tiger for being a coward.
John said, "Forget it, let's hurry and find the Dragon Ball. Check the radar to see how far we are."
Bulma looked at the radar and said, "The radar shows the Dragon Ball is over there; follow me."
After she finished speaking, Bulma walked through the bushes, and John quickly followed to protect her from any danger.
After a while, John noticed Bulma standing still and asked, "What's wrong?"
Bulma said, "This is strange. The Dragon Ball radar shows the Dragon Ball is right here, but I don't see it."
John looked at the radar and saw that there were indeed two Dragon Balls glowing at their current location: one was their two-star ball, and the other should be the new Dragon Ball. But the Dragon Ball was nowhere to be seen.
John said, "If it's not on the ground, it must be in a tree or underground. Wait a moment, I'll climb the trees around here and check."
John quickly climbed several large trees around them. After about ten minutes, he returned empty-handed and said, "I checked, and there are no Dragon Balls in the trees. It seems the Dragon Ball is underground."
"Ah! Do we have to dig? Who knows how deep it is?" Bulma asked.
John thought for a moment and said, "The Dragon Ball couldn't have appeared underground out of nowhere. It must have fallen into a crack or a cave when it descended."
"Although there are some streams in North Mountain, they shouldn't be enough to corrode the surface and form caves. So the Dragon Ball is likely in a cave."
"Let's look around and see if there's a cave nearby." After speaking, John and Bulma began searching the area.
Bulma said, "It seems I need to improve the new Dragon Ball radar and integrate it with our family's satellite."
"In the future, if we encounter a situation like this again, I can use the satellite to scan the terrain and display the underground topography on the radar screen."
John nodded and praised, "Bulma, you're the smartest girl I've ever met."
Hearing John's compliment, Bulma couldn't help but smile proudly, "Hahaha... I think so too. Don't fall in love with me; I'm legendary."
They chatted while searching for a cave that might be hiding the Dragon Ball. After a while, John discovered a cave on the other side of the mountain.
"Based on the direction the cave extends, the Dragon Ball should be inside." John shone a flashlight inside and said.
"Do you think there are ghosts or something in there?" Bulma asked nervously, hiding behind John as she looked at the dark cave.
John said, "There can't be any ghosts." But then he remembered they were in the Dragon Ball world, where there were ghosts, so he quickly added, "Even if there are ghosts, they should be in hell, being punished."
Bulma worriedly asked, "Are you sure? Could ghosts escape from hell?"
John immediately replied, "Impossible. King Yemma is very powerful; ghosts can't escape. Don't worry."
Seeing Bulma's frightened look, John kindly suggested, "How about you wait outside while I go get the Dragon Ball? I'll be quick."
"No, I'll go with you," Bulma immediately refused. "Are you kidding? There are tigers and wild boars outside. How could a weak girl like me dare stay outside alone?"
