Cynthia looked at Bonnie's distressed face, unsure of how to comfort her. She didn't have the words to offer comfort. It was her beloved man who had put her best friend in such a predicament. How could she offer any solace?
Bonnie wiped the tears from her face.
"But Cynthia, isn't it enough that he wants to take revenge on the Laurence family, destroying our family's business and the Si Hai Gang? Why does he still want to take my dad's and brother's lives?"
"You know my dad's health is failing, he doesn't have many years left. Cynthia, he cares so much about you... could you please ask him to spare my dad?"
Bonnie grasped her hand, pleading desperately.
"And my brother, he's innocent! Even if my dad did something unforgivable to the vice president's parents all those years ago, it shouldn't be held against my brother!"
