Chapter 122 - C102(1)

During the holidays at Hogwarts, Kain was learning magic from Lupin in addition to managing the magic material shop. His mastery of magic power also opened Lupin's eyes.

This was the first time Lupin realized that there are wizards who can perform magic far better than those using wands. If it weren't for Kain's appearance, Lupin would have thought he was teaching a magical creature.

In his experience, only magical creatures don't need wands to perform magic—it's their instinct.

In just one month, Kain had learned a lot of useful magic from Lupin, including Disappearance, Apparition, Occlumency, Patronus, and Obliviate.

However, "obliviate" is just an introduction to memory magic, and the more advanced form is Legilimency. This kind of magic requires testing by the Ministry of Magic to learn, but the standard of forgetting everything is not so difficult.

Lupin didn't know much about Legilimency and Occlumency. He had some skills in those areas, but they weren't his strengths. The things he was least good at were obliviate and transfiguration.

As for Lupin's expertise in magical creatures and casting spells, magical creatures were very useful. Kain asked him a lot of questions and planned to choose some textbooks for the Defense Against the Dark Arts class.

There was no need to ask Lupin for help with wandless casting—perhaps only magical beings could have been Kain's teachers in that regard. Lupin doesn't use a wandless to cast spells, which weakens the power of the magic, but Kain's magic, when cast without a wand, is actually stronger.

Kain didn't learn black magic from Lupin. Though Lupin was quite high-level, he was a bit stubborn.

He certainly knew a lot of black magic, but casting black magic is deeply connected to the user's emotions and is very dangerous.

Learning black magic could cause irreversible damage. Since Lupin wasn't sure, he didn't dare to teach it, but he did teach Kain advanced transfiguration, specifically Animagus.

Lupin wasn't very good at common transfiguration, but he was well-versed in Animagus and didn't care much about the Ministry of Magic's regulations requiring registration.

Although he didn't say why, Kain could guess that Lupin's knowledge of Animagus came from his three wizard friends who were illegal practitioners of the art.

The process was very troublesome, so troublesome that it could take several years to succeed in a transformation.

If one wanted to ensure a smooth transformation, it was better to ask a wizard with expertise in psychologism for help. But Kain chose to use high-tech methods—he could go directly to the ministry or hogwarts to obtain the data, which wasn't difficult for him.

If all goes well, it would be great if Kain could learn Animagus within three months. According to Lupin, several of his wizard friends took a semester to learn Animagus.

Hermione was also very interested in Animagus, but Kain forbade her from learning it. He dared to learn it because he had the powerful healing abilities granted by the Extremis virus, but Hermione was not yet in her second year and had just started with Transfiguration.

Maybe Kain would allow Hermione to try it when she reached her fourth year, but not now.

"Godfather, look at this quickly, your name and image appear in the Daily Prophet!"

One day, when Kain was enjoying his leisure time, Hermione suddenly rushed over, half of her shoes off, holding a copy of the Daily Prophet in her hand. Kain had no choice but to put down his half-drunk lemon tea and reach for the newspaper.

However, Hermione handed it halfway to him and then suddenly withdrew her hand. She sat beside Kain and said, "Let me read it to you, Godfather."

After that, Hermione read all the news about Kain in the Daily Prophet with some emotion.

"Dumbledore's education reform is really worrying. He even invited an unknown wizard to be the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts. It's really annoying. They don't even know you godfather!"

"The owner of a magic material shop? Maybe it's more appropriate for him to go to Hogwarts and teach herbalism. What this guy said is also very annoying."

"A reporter interviewed Mr. Malfoy from the Hogwarts school board. He expressed concern about the new school board and believed that Muggle-born wizards might not understand Hogwarts' long history."

Before Hermione could finish reading, Kain patted her on the head and interrupted, "Okay, Hermione, if you read any more, you'll turn into a balloon and explode. Don't pay attention to those words. These people are just standard greedy people. You can look at it tomorrow."

Kain had already sent a gift to these so-called critics. Their persistence was like that of the French army, and the speed of their surrender in front of Galleons was simply frightening.

"These people are not only discriminatory, but also jealous," Kain said with a smile.

When he returned from the Romanian dragon training ground, Kain had asked Guy to buy a large number of fire dragon materials on the market. Half a month ago, fire dragon materials in the British magical world were scarce.

Moreover, with Kain's involvement, the prices of various fire dragon parts had risen significantly, and the price of dragon blood had even tripled.

Some people had already noticed the abnormal price increase of fire dragon materials. They sent people to Romania, but the news they received was unpleasant.

The fire dragon materials had been contracted by Kain, and if they wanted to buy fire dragon materials in the future, they could only purchase them from the black market wizard who poached the dragons—unless they bought from Kain.

However, Kain had provided Galleons to the Romanian Dragon Training Farm, which had strengthened the trainers' ability to fight against poachers. As a result, dragon materials would become increasingly rare on the black market in the future.
