March 5th,
Diary, the peace Brookville experienced since the day the kidnapped kids were released, is more than I can imagine- everyone else felt and acknowledged it too.
The playgrounds were filled with children who had not a care in the world, their laughter filling the air and making the days joyful, people sitting at the park, content with just watching the sunset, picnics became more popular and frequent, it was almost magical.
But when we heard that Evie and a few other kids hadn't made it out alive, we were sad and I knew it would only fuel Dany's anger because the deaths of the children were announced and so she would've known too.
For a while, after she had called me, on the day of the celebration, we hadn't seen or heard anything from her. Like she had just vanished into thin air. The wierd house was also demolished by the government to stop further criminal activities in it so; we had no idea where 'the master' was or where Lucian was too.
The police were only able to apprehend a few men who were in the wierd house at that time and I didn't see Lucian amongst them. Tony and I followed up on them, getting news as often as we could but the arrested men would say nothing about their master or what they did. Their loyalty baffled me.
What was going on? Hadn't they realised that they were betrayed? The other members had fled, their master included. Yet they still remained loyal and never exposed their activities.
Dany had also stopped coming to school for a long time and we were graduating this year.
Had she dropped out?
Most likely. Anytime I thought of her, sadness would engulf me and I could only pray for her.
I know it's the only thing I can do, to hope and pray that God delivers her soon.
