Zero_Nocturnal Is Defeated
Zero_Nocturnal had been defeated. Xi was successful in uncovering that he was not immortal and poisoned his living situation by plunging in and defeating the death reaper. All of the Eve players congratulated Xi, and his character, Otter_44351147, was given many rewards for doing so. He had slain the evil and cruel and even unusual ally Zero_Nocturnal by himself. He had discovered that he was not immortal, and only got himself healed, not was created or rendered immortal by the hacking ability he used. Xi was very happy and pleased that he had won this match up against Zero_Nocturnal. He was the good guy, and Zero_Nocturnal was the evil that was beaten back in to the community's positive side, amidst his own dark dealings and his nature as a bad person, and player with which to come face to face with. Xi and Mitsuru had dinner, which was a lunch basket, at McHappyLand's and nearby were their game devices. He had gotten his from a Chinese market site called WebWorld in Chinese and in Chinese characters and probably inaccessible to any outsiders because it used the Chinese language site only. It had no English on it, Xi believed. Or really did not know any better. He bought a Facebook model VR device. Mitsuru was using a Meta IV Smart Device, which was very really good, and super new as well as awesome to Xi. The community recommended it as well. Her parents got it for her one day out of the blue, to be honest, and she played Eve and other games and sometimes was offered jobs online while wearing the headset and using the joysticks. The headset had one button on it, which was to turn it on, but also had volume up and down buttons, and also a magic button that did something. It was required to pop the brackets at the back that let you take it off more reliably, kind of, she considered that it was hard to understand her explaining it this way, and showed Xi, whose only had a metal clasp at the back and "screwed on", he said with a wince, as he had no other way, he thought, to explain it in Chinese, which was the only language he knew. It was like a belt buckle. So he considered it to be a poor quality object. But he said the price was good, and so it was a good thing to own. He used the same joysticks as hers. They had two analog sticks, which allowed you to select with a directional input that was really useful, and even good, to use most of the time, but what was really the feature of the device was the VR input lag reducing sound system. It had two speakers in it, one for each ear, but the community did not know if that was the best. It had one gigantic screen also, but the community said there were two in every head set, one for each eye. And the controllers were always the same. They used input like it was natural, that was how they described it, so you moved them about and it translated the movements to the VR world like it was you moving around.
Sometimes, people spoke of odd nuances with the VR devices. But never the quality level of the promotional objects. They called the VR world great things. And that it was expensive to use. But it was not out of the ordinary, but kind of not as popular as some things, and other things were usually not better, but not as unpopular as VR devices were to the community who used them. The outsiders to the VR-device using community thought they were completely bad to use. They were unheard of to them in their society. Their community was a different one. These were now a completely fashionable device to wear. Years ago, kids had used them to seem cooler than the rest of the community they were a part of. They were called kids because they were usually not the same as the other community members. They were past the early adopters, who had used them to sell the product. The new devices were not that different, or any different at all. Maybe in time they could be enhanced, but right now, they were perfect. Xi used his, which he liked, and Mitsuru used hers. She wanted to use Xi's as well. She researched his product and found one online for an expensive price. She decided she would not buy that right now at this point in her involvement with the community she was a part of, and considered like a family to her. Eve was the main selling point of the game. You could also buy what the community termed premium products. These were special, and gifted players used them. But the others were not told this was any better.
Online, Zero_Nocturnal had been defeated, and offline as well. Xi and his community was virtually victorious, but it also had Zero_Nocturnal in it as well as the people who made Eve, and the VR devices, and other people like his family, and the dead people lying all about, who were still fading away. Bodies in EVE were not deleted that quickly. They stayed around for to the community an unknown amount of time. Xi and Mitsuru paid for their meal and planted themselves on the route back home. They went to the store and bought some things. Xi had a drink in his hand and was really happy to drink it. Mitsuru was happy also. She had another drink. He had a grape soda from a Chinese brand and she had a Starbucks coffee from a glass jar type of object, which might be Chinese, but may not be. It did not say in Chinese were it was from, not really totally exactly. But they discarded these empty canisters in Xi's parents home, in the trash can, that was white and had a white trash bag in it as well, as they went up to Xi's room to play.
