Layla ran back and forth following the waves . She was giggled as she jumped around.
Leoric slowly moved closer to where she was not saying a word, sitting down.
When she finally ran out of breath Layla moved to where he was right next to him she sat.
"How did you know ?" She muttered.
"Your friend told me " he answered.
Mia had told them about her favourite spots ,including the beach.
"Thank you for bringing me " she let out.
"Am glad you like it " he said.
They sat in silence watching and listening to the waves .
"Mother always bought me to the beach on my birthdays . The only days I got to see her smile " she let out.
She breathed.
"After her death ...it was the only place that connected it to her ,for it was always here she was the most happiest "
"And you ...where you happy when she was ?" He asked.
Layla nodded.
"Very , my smile always widened when I saw hers . And all our problems seemed to disappear in that moment " she smiled but with tears in her eyes .
"If it reminds you of her smile ,why did you stop coming to the place that connects you to her ?"
"Because it hurt instead ,every time I came here " she sniffed.
"Is that why you have tears in your eyes ?" he asked .
She chuckled holding back her tears, "I missed her so much it hurt to even remember her. And she always hated seeing me cry ,so I decided to avoid the one place that brought tears to my eyes ".
"Should I apologise to her then, for making her daughter cry ?" he frowned.
Layla looked back at him seeing how serious he looked and chuckled.
"She won't mind for am happy you bought me here " she laughed.
"Oh.."noticing her start to tremble he took off his coat covering her shoulders .
She smiled pulling it close around her body.
"I never knew my mother ,she died when I was born " he suddenly.
"Ah...but then?"
"She's my stepmother ,one I never regret having " he said.
"She is a lovely lady " she commented.
"Yes she is .my father remarried soon after my mother's death so he could find mother for me . And my stepmother has been nothing but that ". He said.
"Do you know how she looked like ?" Layla asked.
"Barely ,but mother said I have her eyes " he explained.
Layla smiled meeting his crimson eyes .
"You must be ,for they are beautiful eyes "Lalya smiled.
His eyes fluttered looking away.
Lalya's phone rang and took it out from her bag .
It was Mia calling.
"Excuse me " she said getting up.

"Your where ?" Mia asked
"The beach , he bought me to the beach " she said .
"Oh my , I guess your happy been awhile since you went to one " she said.
"Yes I am "
"Well I wanted to know how your dinner went but I guess your date is still going on. So I will hang up now ,ran back to him and have fun".
Before Lalya could answer the call got cut .
She chuckled .
She sighed looking around, she had walked further away from where Leoric was .
"Hi there " she heard a male voice say .
