"And that's a wrap, beautiful people. Great work, everybody!'' the director said, a big grin onhis face. "Abe ? A word please." He said to the man lying in the mud.
Ava Jordan, otherwise known as Alice, the main character in the just concluded movie, immediely switched her expression from one of love to disgust. Still kneeling in the fake mud, she tried her best to scrub off the dirt that had caked on her kneecaps.
"SOMEONE GET THIS SHIT OFF OF ME THIS INSTANT!!!" she yelled at the top of her lungs as several aides rushed to do her bidding. Her agent, who also happened to be on set at that same time, walked briskly towards her, his tie flying in the wind.
"Remind me to never do a movie like that ever again." she said as she collected several tissues offered up by an aide as if accepting an offering, her face still scrunched up in disgust. "why did I ever want to do this in the first place?" she asked her agent who looked at her smugly.
"Because the public is gonna eat it up once it's been released. Which goes without saying, you're gonna make millions from it. You're a star, you know." he added in a mock whisper. Her male lead, Abe, walked up to her, a foolish grin on his face.
"Um, Ava? Could I please see you really quickly?" he asked shyly. "Sure,"she said, her agent making no move to leave. Noticing this, Abe cleared his throat audibly and swallowed, looking like he was about to give a big speech. "Okay, well, I just wanted to say I really loved the time we spent working on this project together. I feel like we were able to build a connection during this period. So basically, I wanted to ask, that is…" he stuttered, trying to judge Ava's body language to guess what she was thinking. "I wanted to ask if you would love to go out with me. Like on a date?" he asked the last part uncertainly.
Ava, who all this while had been looking on with a bored expression, suddenly stiffened, then looked at her agent at her side and the two, as if in tandem, burst out in laughter. As quickly as they started though, they cut it off, her expression darkening. "I don't date," she said curtly. When she saw his expression threatening to crumble, she softened her expression a bit. " Oh, it isn't you babycakes," she said like she was talking to a toddler. "It's me. Well, it's mostly you for obvious enough reasons," she said derisively looking at him from head to toe and sneering. "But I don't play with collateral damage and you, baby boy, you're a whole bagful of collateral damage." She finished softly, referring to a scandal involving him and a famous heiress a few months ago. His agent had suggested that he get a date with THE Ava Jordan, so as to fix up his image, before it all goes down in the mud. (Pun intended). His agent promised him that nobody would know of their seemingly genius idea. Obviously the idea wasn't genius or secretive enough for Ava to get wind of it and see through it so quickly. "But nice acting. Maybe you'll find someone stupid enough to fall for those lines one day." she said dismissively and tossed the tissues she had been holding all this while' walking away from Abe with her agent chuckling softly beside him.
" You're wicked Ava, you know that, right?" her agent said in between laughs as they walked towards her trailer. " I can't help it if I come across as a douchebag from time to time. This people would take advantage of me if they could and hell will freeze over before I let something like that happen.'' "Besides,'' she continued while her agent kept on laughing, "you're right about one thing." She lifted her chin and smiled confidently "I am a star. Period."
