"So what is it that you want me to do miss?"
|I want you to perish| Cursing Tristan out, a long scroll appeared in front of him, unfurling itself to reveal several lines of terms.
"But you also need me to fulfil something right?" Slightly smirking, Tristan picked up the floating scroll while reading the terms.
Because as any good and logical man would do, reading the terms and agreements was vital if you didn't want to get scammed out of millions, it wasn't for nothing that the legal team had proofreading as a vital skill they need.
And of the many terms listed which ranged from just a basic agreement to not fuck each other over to a term which stated that they would keep each other's best interests in mind all the way to the final term which caused Tristan to raise an eyebrow.
"Your enemies... who the hell are they for you to want me to torture them in the most vile ways possible?"
That's for me to know and for you to find out.
"...Is that fancy speak for saying you don't know?"
|...| Facing away from Tristan, he blinked.
"You... do actually know who you want me to torture in the most vile ways possible right?"
As I said before, that's for me to know and for you to find out.
"So you actually don't know." Deadpanly staring at Era, he quickly skimmed over the rest of the agreements before signing the bottom of the page.
?
Noticing her surprise, Tristan shrugged his shoulders.
"What? I like these terms since I get to keep most of my autonomy."
He flicked his wrist causing the quill to flick ink into the white fog.
"And besides, I'm actually more interested in this new world that you want me to be in."
He smiled lightly.
"I mean, isn't the dream of all children to be able to use magic? I would say I'm just fulfilling a childhood dream of mine."
Era turned to look at Tristan even as the red coat wrapped around their body fluttered without the presence of wind.
...You are an interesting mortal.
Holding up a quill of their own, the blue feather had ink stuck into the bottom of it as she took the contract from him.
"You should see me in my party mode."
Quickly finishing his signature with a swirl at the end, the name Era appeared in all italics on the page before being seemingly burned right into it.
And from the burnt letters that scarred the page, the flame quickly consumed the rest of the scroll, turning into nothing more than a ball of ash that floated in the air.
Splitting in half, the ball of ash quickly surged towards Tristan and Era.
Hugging his hand, the ball of ash quickly formed itself into a spider as it branded itself onto his hand.
Flinching as his flesh tingled with the feeling of a mild 1st degree burn, Tristan glanced at Era that had a sigil of a gun on their hand.
'Well that's interesting.'
Shaking his hand to aid the pain even if for a little bit, Tristan glanced at Era.
"So... what now Lady Era?"
Era glanced at Tristan with an aura that screamed danger as tangible joy filled his surroundings, causing him to frown.
"Miss Era?"
Raising the pam of their hand at Tristan, the spirit of freedom let out a chuckle that echoed in the air.
Now dear Tristan, we reform your body.
"I'm sensing a but."
But it's going to hurt like hell
Staring at Era, he didn't doubt for a second that if she still had a head, they would've been smiling madly.
To tell you the truth, I've taken a peek at your memories.
"Wait you can do that?"
And I already know that the world you came from had no connection to magic or the occult although it seems that your world has the same Gods as ours.
It really is interesting to see you create these large metal serpents and dragons, but I'm getting off tracked.
So I had to do something to fill the gap of common knowledge between our two worlds that are literally worlds away from each other.
So prepare yourself for the pain oh little Tristan.
'Oh Hell, I'm going to regret this.'
Having this premonition, the next thing that Tristan knew was pain.
It was as if he had been dipped in battery acid.
Eating at his flesh and bones like ants, Tristan felt every sensation... vividly.
Flesh grew out of nothing as bones made of calcium and keratin formed out of thin air.
Pushing away the sea in the surrounding area, a skeleton formed in the water, startling all of the fishes into hiding.
A dedicated nervous system appeared onto the skeleton as flesh appeared out of the gaps in the bones, immediately twisting and weaving together to form a fully functioning human body.
But it didn't end at that.
Oh good lord Tristan wished that it did though.
Pink muscles forming on the bones, the threads of muscle tissue wrapped around each other to form thick and powerful fibres that could unleash so much more energy than they appeared to be able to.
Dedicated fat reserves appearing around his body, they outlined his body before they were quickly covered.
Skin quickly appearing like clothes on the body, collagen warped and formed several segmented parts in a way that was beneficial in the sea.
And at the top of his head hair grew, forming a colony of blue green seaweed that quickly grew down to his waist.
Then it all stopped abruptly.
Captain's quarters returning to it's previous silence, the only addition to it this time was a floating body that lay unconscious in the air.
Well defined body that was mildly muscular without being overly so, a handsome face floated in the water as seaweed green and ocean blue hair intertwined with each other.
And if people looked at the body closely they would be able to notice several other details.
Skin appearing smooth to the naked eye, it instead was incredibly rough as the skin itself formed several scale like protrusions that allowed for a better grip while also making it so much more aerodynamic in the water.
And at the sides of the body at the neck and ribs, these gills opened and closed, letting out air as they filtered in his neck and out of his ribs.
Fingers gaining the same treatment as his skin, the body suddenly took in a deep breath of sea water, causing the gills to open wide.
Eyes flying wide open, a pair of ocean blue eyes appeared bloodshot to the world as a thin film covered his eyes protecting it and allowing the boy to see clearly in the sea.
And as the boy hurriedly tried stabilising himself in the water, he let out he let out his first words from his brand new and beautiful body.
"What the fuck Era!?"
His words far from new or beautiful however.
---
After berating Era much to the latter's amusement, Tristan took in a deep breath as his high strung senses that were overwhelmed from coming back alive, he felt his surroundings.
"Oh... Oh wow."
And it was as clear as day.
Perhaps it might have something to do with being dead for a small while, but the fact that Tristan could actually feel something made him inexplicably happy as dopamine hormones flooded his brain in celebration of literally going through death and surviving no matter how strange the circumstances.
And maybe he was imagining it, but he felt incredibly eager to continue... doing anything as he felt energy flood his system like an adrenaline high.
But just as all things had an end, Era abruptly ended his.
Please raise your hand
'?'
Tilting his head, Tristan nevertheless complied and raised his hand, revealing a strange tattoo located on it that couldn't be seen before.
That. Is your Thread Gem.
"Ah... so this is the thing that you guys use to cast magic."
Staring at the diamond shaped tattoo segmented into four parts with a slightly larger diamond surrounding it, Era's voice sounded in his ear again.
That... in your world's terminology that is correct, but here, we call them weaves
"Yeah yeah." Waving Era off, he looked at the four pointed gem while organizing his thoughts. "So remind me again what was the energy that makes the Threads for weaves again?"
That would be mana, the energy that makes up our world in all sorts of ways.
And by the looks of it, your Thread gem is the basic type, no benefits and no flaws to it.
"Wait, there types to this?... Actually I guess there are"
Feeling knowledge that wasn't his flow into his mind, Era thankfully butted in and explained.
Amongst the four additional organs in our world that allows us to cast stitches, weaves and sews, there are classifications for each of them.
Circulators appear in the eyes, and depending on the number of circles and the symbol that appears on them we can determine the quality of the Circulator.
For example, look into the mirror.
Tristan obliged and looked at the broken mirror resting in the corner of the room with fragments shining on the bottom of the dresser.
Facing himself but from another world, an incredibly pale face faced him causing Tristan to flinch slightly.
'Oh God I look like a ghost.'
Thinking those thoughts, he stared into his ocean blue eyes revealing within them eight interconnected circles that statically stared at each other.
There are several levels in between with some worse and some better ranging from Fake, Basic, Ethereal, Spiritual, Holy, Heavenly and finally Godly
For the circulators, the fake level has two circles, basic has three, Ethereal has four and so on and so forth.
"So the best ones are the ones on my eyes huh?"
He glanced at the room and saw everything in extreme detail, even the fish darting around in the sea appeared as if they were in high definition 4K ultra HD despite being a kilometer away.
Miles ahead of the 140p from before.
"And I guess they pull their weight."
Turning back to the mirror, he was slightly taken aback by the glow in his eyes before Era interrupted his train of thought.
And the Gem on your hand is an ethereal one known as the Ethereal thread Gem that allows mid level weaves to be woven easily and low level weaves near instantly.
Of course there are some more specific types but let's get to that later.
And on that note, could you look to your right shoulder.
Your other shoulder you fu-!
Ahem
Coughing lightly, Tristan felt a chill briefly crawl down his spine as he quickly turned his vision to his left shoulder and instantly became mesmerized by the sight.
Because located on his left shoulder was a mesmerizing looking six pointed star colored in grey.
That is your star, the Neutral Star to be exact and it's like what it says, completely neutral, without an element of its own, the Neutral star is able to convert between Ether types with ease although it takes some time
In terms of utility, I would say that it is one of the better ones, but in terms of actual combat it has its flaws.
And finally, the last thing that you have... Oh that doesn't look good.
"What do you mean by that?"
Well... unlike what I thought, it seems that the memory transfer that allowed me to shove your mind chock full of our worlds common sense had damaged the Trinity on your spine
"Well that's bad."
It's more than bad.
Seriously crossing their arms within Tristan's mind, they quickly continued in that strangely echoey voice.
Just like all the other organs in your body that serve a purpose and are carefully placed to fulfil their duty, the mana organs also affect the body if they are damaged.
For example.
Era raised their fingers to place them where their eyes would be.
If the circulators are damaged, they would also damaage the eyes as they are a part of it, the same can be said for the Stars, gems and trinities.
If the Star is damaged then your body would suddenly be filled with a chaotic influx of mana that would cause you to be constantly sick.
On the other hand, if the gem is damaged, you would lose all feeling in your hands and would be unable to use them properly which is disastrous on their own.
And finally the trinity.
Era took in a deep breath before continuing in a serious voice.
The Trinity is located on the spine, and I don't even need to emphasise the danger do I?
"Oh... oh That's bad."
Your telling me.
Turning to look at the triangle shaped trinity on his back, he cursed.
"Well shit"
From the information stuffed into his mind at the cost of immense pain, Tristan knew for a fact that Trinities in general were always used to store mana threads to cast spells.
'Excuse me, weave spells.'
But since it's broken, he wouldn't be able to weave anything.
Falling into thought, Tristan glanced once more at his eyes before turning to look at the broken triangle that was as broken as it could look without breaking the vague triangular shape it had.
It honestly didn't help that since the trinity was fragmented and broken, whatever mana threads that he put into it would quickly break apart and be used to support his spine rendering the storage function useless as it was supposed to store things.
And if all those threads were used to fix his spine then what use was it?
'Unless...'
Tristan's eyes flickered dubiously as an idea sprouted up inside of his mind.
And as a resident within his mind, Era could immediately tell what it was that Tristan was thinking.
You are a crazy bastard.
They crossed their arms.
But a smart crazy bastard nonetheless, it might work.
'Never doubt me.'
Smiling lightly, with the information stuffed into his head, he slowly activated the God circulators resting in his eyes.
'Hah, now I'm actually like a chuuni in his teens.'
He chuckled lightly while staring at himself in the mirror.
Eight circles slowly spinning in his eyes as a brand new world opened up before him.
