This is not the time to celebrate yet though. Now, it's time to see if this body can cultivate or if it is truly a physique that cannot cultivate.
Taking a deep breath, Feng Jiao Xue evened out her breathing as she assumed the lotus position again.
She slowly emptied her mind and tried to feel the Dou Qi or magic energy around her.
After an hour or so she finally managed to discern something however she cannot fully comprehend what.
Perhaps the cultivation here is also different from how she cultivated in her previous life.
Giving up though was never her thing.
Doubling the effort again she tried to get that Qi or energy into her body.
However, as they say, what is forced will not so easily succumb.
Heat started to rise inside of her and yet, her skin feels like being caressed by ice.
Ragged puffs of breath escaped her slightly parted lips, limbs stiffening as she forced herself to maintain her position.
She couldn't help but frown when those particles started to wreck through her body.
Pain from physical injuries and now also some internal injuries started to overcome her senses.
Dizziness, heat, cold, pain... Feng Jiao Xue's brows furrowed, eyes shut in agony. Despite her best effort, she trembles.
A fleeting thought of giving up came to her mind. It's... too much.
The corner of her eyes slightly glistened, moisted.
Yet as those thoughts tempted her, she thinks back on what had happened to her.
Lou Xi's last imprint on her memory, the blood that covered the person she... failed to protect...
Feng Jiao Xue bit her lips until it bled, nevertheless, quivering as she was, her pain intensified as her conviction, determination, fueled the waving flames in her heart into a blaze.
No, she can't let herself be a trash forever. In a world where the strong are revered and the weak are prey, she must hurry and gain more strength to survive.
She gritted her teeth in frustration and strengthened her resolve, ignoring the blood that trickles down her nose.
As she struggled, Feng Jiao Xue's breath stopped, her stomach staunch. "Kha! Cough, cough" Feng Jiao Xue wretched. Taking deep, hard breaths she looked coldly at her bloody hand again after coughing up another mouthful of blood.
"Could it be that I really have a waste physique?"
She grabbed the cloth nearest to her wiping the blood in her face and hand before taking a breather.
She slumped tiredly on the ground, sprawled. Her chest rise and falls with every deep and ragged breath she took.
"Uugh..." she groaned as she forced herself to sit up again.
Stubbornly, she went back into position again, going back to cultivation.
She tried to force the particles towards her Dantian but this time she tried to calmly observe.
Like small multi-colored trinkles of water, they entered her body. The particles flowing through her veins, her roots, supplied her memories, as they kept being led inside her body.
She was hasty, and... she was anxious. She's afraid, deep down, no matter how much she tries to pretend that it isn't so, one of her motivations is fear.
She's in a place that she doesn't even know. The one person she could always rely on, her pillar, her brother, crumbled. For the first time in years... she is on her own.
Admitting that to herself, she slowly calmed down. It is still there, the lingering shadows that lurk in her mind but...
She let out a breath, in, out, in, out.
Yet, her heart beats a rhythm they've never reached before. Her body... It felt cold. Looking down at her hands, she notices how the edges blurs and doubles... a phantom doubles in her sight...
She's afraid.
She's afraid but she has no one to rely on but herself now.
Slowly, her breathing continues to slow down.
She closed her eyes and tried again. This time she noticed that the particles slowly faded.
She didn't give up as the entire day and night passed since she woke up before dawn. However, no matter what the particles just seemed to fade once they entered her body.
It's like droplets of water entering a tranquil pond, splash, the water wrinkles, and then settles again.
The pain she felt slowly accumulated as the particles continued to destroy her insides like thousands of fire ants gnawing at her bones as her blood boils.
Add to that this body's fatigue and hunger.
It was getting harder and harder for her to focus on meditation as she was starting to get dizzy and ignoring the terrible pain on and in her body was near impossible as well.
The previous beating that led to her death was after all no by no means light. Wounds littered her body and her skin painted black, blue and purple. Injuries both old and new had a great toll on her body and physic.
The medicine she has only contains antidotes for poisons, venoms, burns, disinfectants and illness.
After all it had been years since the last time she managed to obtain even a scratch.
And even if she was injured, she always had Lou Xi waiting for her with a first aid kit nearby and a clinic that most medicinal practitioners can only dream of at their disposal.
She never had to address her wounds herself since she had him. As she thought of him, a trace of love and sorrow engulfed her heart.
During her meditation she did not realize the faint golden glow that her ring emits that started when the particles in her body started to fade.
Gritting her teeth in frustration before stopping herself from continuing, she furrowed her mind as she forced herself to focus. She can feel the energy within her, it just feels like despite the poison no longer blocking it, something else is forcing it there.
With determination, she tried to get that energy in her control pulling them in the direction they had to go and as if something had snapped, that chaotic energy flooded her veins, burning her and this time, it was like her soul itself was being pulled and expelled from her body.
Flutters of wings resounded outside. "Ahh!" Blood curdling scream reverberated in the courtyard before she passed out.
After that, she didn't know how many hours had passed before she regained consciousness.
Taking a deep breath she slowly sat up, disoriented at first before remembering what happened causing her expression to darken as dread filled her entire being.
'This can't be! There is no way that I can even accept the idea of being a trash.'
In this world if she can't cultivate, with her experience in the previous life she can find a way to survive but everything around her could possibly end up killing her.
Being able to cultivate will ensure her survival and give this body its revenge.
Cultivation is detrimental to her missions!
Taking a shaky breath, she slowly assumed her position and to her astonishment, she could feel two different kinds of energy circling her entire being.
But instead of it becoming her strength, it is simply leaking out and disintegrating. However, a small portion is going towards her ring finger confusing her.
'Just what is happening with her?'
Bewildered, after getting her consciousness out of meditation she noticed the faint energy that her ring now emits.
Her eyes widened as she stared intently at the ring. She can clearly discern that the aura in the ring is none other than the same energy within her.
If she remembers it right, then every soul has a unique sense of energy within them. No cultivator can have the same Qi signature.
So, it is this little guy that is taking the energy before they leave her!
An idea pops out in her mind.
Testing out her theory she focused on guiding the particles towards her ring instead of her Dantian and veins.
Her eyes squinted a little when it was immediately absorbed.
She doesn't know the mysteries of her ring but due to her previous professions her common sense is already different from the others.
Risks and dangers are part of her everyday life already and dancing with death was her favorite hobby.
She continued to guide the particles towards her ring. Although this jewelry of hers contains many mysteries and secrets her instinct tells her that it can never bring her any harm.
Anything can be turned against her but something deep within her soul that this is something that she can...trust?
In all honesty she cannot discern her emotion towards this ring. It would sometimes bring out a melancholy and sadness that penetrates her soul, as if it remembers something her brain has forgotten.
Maybe she did forget something.
Why did it appear on her? How did it appear to her? When did it truly appear on her finger?
Unconsciously, she twirled the ring again, something that she can't stop doing every time she is in deep thought.
"Poof!"
Suddenly a puff of smoke started to form her ring, shocking her out of her deep musing.
