Chereads / Mystique Soul: A Cultivator's Flame / Chapter 9 - A New Friend

Chapter 9 - A New Friend

In the early morning, upon waking up Feng Jiao Xue looked confused at first before sitting up and looking around.

"So, it wasn't a dream after all" She muttered to herself before leaning back with her hands as support as she looked at the ceiling and closed her eyes before she let out a puff of breath, thoughts swirling in her mind. Dark silky hair fell back like a waterfall waving with her movement.

The old door creaked, jolting her up, making her sit upright with silver needles hidden in her palms ready to be drawn like a claw. As her eyes narrowed for a second before the sharp gaze was retracted.

"Oh, so the young miss waste is finally awake" The servant girl sneered as she walked over with a bowl of a smelly green goo with some bits and pieces of leaves. "Why couldn't you stay dead? It would've saved us all the trouble"

"You trash, don't tell me you've gone dumb?" The servant girl asked in wonder again, but Feng Jiao Xue just stared at her with a blank look.

Seemingly irritated by her lack of response, the servant girl strode towards her, and a loud slap resounded in the small room. "You b*tch answer me when I'm talking to you got that?!" The impatience and irritation was clear in the servant's tone and eyes.

Frost accumulated in her slightly narrowed eyes as her pale cheek turned red. She felt boiling rage and indignation came from her bond with Huang Jin De but using the bond between them she transferred her command and that is for him to back off.

"Are you done?" The coldness in her voice made the servant girl shiver and step back startled but then regained composure and glared at her.

"Who do you think you are? You ugly waste. Do you really think that you're a high miss just because of your blood?" The servant girl glared at her harshly, jealousy clear in her eyes while grabbing her chin with so much force she was sure that grip would leave another mark.

F*cking great, just what she needs, another God d*mn bruise. No matter how much she wished to end this preposterous servant in front of her, she could only bite her tongue and clenched her fist to hold herself back. She lowered her head to hide the piercing glare in her eyes as she curbed her bloodlust, something she had accumulated as an assassin.

Even cultivator experts would be astonished by its sheer force and amount.

After all, she was not given the title "Goddess of Death" for nothing.

Unfortunately, her circumstances now are not like the past and until she gains sufficient knowledge of her new environment, she can do nothing but endure and hide within the shadows. Blend, observe, strike and fade are after all the way of the assassins.

Her enemies are on the light while she is hidden in the shadows, there is no need to startle her prey and give them time to deal with her while she is at her weakest.

"Just look at yourself, an ugly waste, good for nothing! You better know your place trash "After saying that the servant girl poured the stinky soup in her head and also left the bowl there. She was so immersed in her mind that she didn't hear much of the taunting of this daring servant.

She bit her tongue harder to the point that she could taste the metallic taste of blood to hold herself back letting the pain be her distraction, she almost let her bloodlust out when she felt that disgusting thing slide on her body. Icky disgusting slime slowly crept down her face and her upper body.

Still, she held back, her body trembling a little in restraint. It was smelly, sticky and extremely disgusting and there is nothing she wants more than to send this b*tch to her grave. Unfortunately, she needs to lay low for now.

She almost pukes at the memory of being force fed with this 'food' puke in the past before being beaten for not cooperating countless times that she forced herself to eat it and still having to thank them afterwards.

The servant girl smirks in satisfaction mistaking the reaction for holding back her tears and fear. She steps back looking Ming Xiao Xue up and down, eyes full of delight and ridicule.

"Haha! Good, now you smell the way you look, that's your food for this week as well. Such a waste" The servant girl laughed as she stared at her full of ridicule before walking away.

Apparently, that servant girl was one of those who stepped on her and what she just did is already considered mild.

As the servant walked out proudly, her hands flicked ever so slightly but before she could even react, a puff of red smoke appeared revealing a worried and infuriated Huang Jin De.

"Xiao Xue, why did you let that girl just do that?! How dare she! I could have just burned that vermin and turned her into ashes! No, that's too light! I will also burn her soul for all eternity! She dares to actually bully you?! This lord's master! You shouldn't have let her off like that!" Huang Jin De fumed as he stalked back and forth.

She wanted to laugh as his face became as red as his hair in fury. She wondered if smoke would actually come out of his nose and ears, she could practically imagine it.

Looking around for an extra cloth she just waved her hand in dismissal before carefully standing up.

"Xiao Xue are you alright? Dammit, why did you stop me from protecting you?" Huang Jin De pouted with his arms crossed.

Glancing at him slightly as she walked by, she saw him looking close to a child.

She smiled faintly before walking towards the door tilting her head towards him, she saw that he was still sulking. With a sneer she coldly asked "Who said I let her off?"

At that Huang Jin De seemed to have been slightly appeased. "What did you do?"

She just smirk showing her cute fox like pointed teeth as her eyes narrowed not bothering to answer, leaving him staring at her back as she walk away, along the way she coolly pulled a silver needle as thin as a strand of hair out of the door frame twirling it for a bit making it glint dangerously from the light it reflected, before banishing it completely. The bright light engulfing her frame and for a moment, Huang Jin De's phoenix eyes widened slightly as the frail figure overlapped with the silhouette of a majestic red clad woman.

He could only pout for a moment before it was replaced with a small smile. "Welcome back, master" he thought to himself as before puffing away since she went out. If she wished to not let anyone know of her strength, then it would not do if someone saw him.

Meanwhile on Feng Jiao Xue's side, she can't fight anyone head on at the moment, but she didn't become the top assassin for nothing. It's so fascinating that such a tiny little thing would bring that servant to hell, she smirks darkly as she keeps the needle back to her space.

The servant's skin would become itchy to the point of being unbearable, after all moonlight's claws are not an easy poison to deal with. Every time the sun fell, the itch on her would make herself scratch her skin off and best of all, it would never end unless given the antidote.

The moonlight's claw poison would make the victim itch so much and it would be worked under the moonlight while the properties of sunlight would give her release. But who said anything about giving her a break?

Knowing what it feels like without the poison would make having it even more unbearable. An endless cycle of hope and despair. Let this be her repayment for all the torment she had done to this body.

She hummed lightly following the direction of her new memories. According to her memory, there is a spring just somewhere inside the mountain. Along the way she was amazed to see such bizarre things.

A rabbit with red eyes and tiny fangs dripping with what she assumes is venom, giant birds flying in the sky, fishes with bat-like wings and plants with unique characteristics and various colors some are even glowing a bit.

Tiny multi-colored bugs the size of an ant flew around and a toad with sharp teeth and three tongues croaking by the river.

She really is no longer in her previous world. She carefully walked ahead, careful not to touch anything that could be harmful. Thankfully the spirit beasts here are only level one or some level two.

Walking deeper, the thick vegetation eventually blocked out most of the sunlight making some of the glowing ones appear more amazing to her.

It didn't take long before she found the spring. Putting aside her change of clothes, she began to undress and went under the water to get rid of the humid smell and disgusting slime.

Strangely enough the water is just at the right temperature with a little bit on the warmer side.

She closed her eyes and relaxed letting the small wave of the water soothe her aching body a little.

Using this time to think of her new life, various thoughts and plans pop and run off in her mind.

Currently she is now in a strange place with an existence akin to an ant. Even plants can easily kill her. Her lips twitched a little at that thought but quickly let it go.

On her way here, she passed by a colony of fire ants the size of an average cat. And when she said "fire" ants, it literally meant ants with flaming blood colored bodies. Alone she could only find it annoying however with their whole colony against her, it would be nothing less than dangerous to her.

In fact, most of the creatures in this mountain alone could kill her.

Her hands casually played with the water as she steps back to where she can sit with the water still covering her body.

"Master, why don't you try cultivating here? The area's serenity would be good for cultivation, since you insist on cultivating anyway" Huang Jin De's voice appeared in her mind, shocking her for a second before she nodded.

Sitting cross legged again, she immediately put herself in the right mindset.

Instead of pulling the Qi's in the area she let herself be one of her surroundings. She molded with nature and slowly the Qi around her slowly came close to her, seemingly hesitant at first before it entered her body.

This time she didn't push the white particle of energy into her Dantian, instead, she guided it slowly, not rushing it anymore.

Her physique is after all different from the others. Those with normal spiritual physique could cultivate in the traditional or the more usual way, some with special physique could still cultivate differently from what is the most suitable for them but they would not progress as fast as they should be, and those that have rare physique could either be said to be lucky or unlucky. If they found the cultivation method suitable for them then they are lucky as their cultivation would be stronger and far faster than the others, however, if they are unable to find it then they can only be called unlucky as they would be like her previous self, unable to cultivate and can only be considered to have a waste physique.

Feng Jiao Xue evened her breathing as she slowly cleared her mind and opened herself up in a sense, welcoming and beckoning the energy around her.

Just like before from one, to two, from two to four and from four to sixteen and so on. She beckoned and guided the Qi around her body, circulating them through her veins before slowly separating each element in her Dantian.

After getting used to cultivating Dou Qi she stopped, and this time focused on the wisp of magic energy or simply put magic around her. Unlike the Dou Qi particles, the wisp of Magic easily entered her body and she didn't even need to guide it while she needed to guide Dou Qi at the beginning.

Both Dou Qi and Magic circulated around her to the point that it was barely visible with the form of a multi-colored mist. Unlike at the beginning where she could still comprehend the amount, they were now rushing inside her body as if competing who could enter first.

She stopped beckoning the Dou Qi and Magic anymore since that was only at the initial phase. Now, she merely focused on separating the Dou Qi and

Magic element and putting them in their rightful area or place.

unbeknownst to her Huang Jin De came out of the space and was looking at her in shock, astonishment, and proudness.

The most talented person the ones knew took two weeks to feel Dou Qi while the other took one week to feel Magic energy and the past her two and a half to feel Dou Qi.

While the current her took about a few minutes or so and what she called the initial stage normally would take months and that was already considered a top rate talent, the current her is nothing short than an aberrant!

She didn't know how much time had passed but after getting his composure back he immediately returned to the space to cultivate, motivated and intimidated by her talent, he can't be left behind by her, how could he help her then if his strength would not measure up to the danger?

Just like that, time passed as only the sound of the water could be heard with the occasional roar and howl.

Suddenly, Feng Jiao Xue snapped her eyes open in vigilance . Although she was immersed in cultivation, she did not forget to stay vigilant of her surroundings since every corner of this place is full of danger.

Straining her ears, she heard footsteps or something similar heading towards her. She determined if it really is coming towards her and noticed that it is too close, far too close for comfort, so she did the only thing that came to mind at the moment.

She was to the deepest part and dove towards the depth. Running would not be the best option since it could easily catch up with her injured state and fighting would be a death wish, sure she has Huang Jin De, but she did not want to ask for his help every time she is in danger. This would not be beneficial to her and could possibly be detrimental to her growth.

She held her breath as she looked cautiously at the direction of the presence, and she could vaguely see four with hooves enter the water slowly coming towards her before it stopped when half of its body was submerged.

With her eyes widened she swam back in a rush creating more distance between them and only realized just how deep this place was since she could deduce that this beast is almost twice as big as the tallest horse.

Her inner cloaks have already started to put more weight on her body making it difficult to maneuver herself in the water.

She watched, needles once again drawn in case it would attack but avoiding confrontation would still be the best course of action right now.

She watched vigilantly before swimming backward in shock when a giant white deer head with even more giant antler as white as the moonlight with wisps of light bluish colors, appeared right in front of her face! Right. In. F*cking. Front. Of. Her. Face!
