Krillin found himself at Kame's House, contentedly relaxing while enjoying a nice glass of iced tea. The days had seemingly passed without a hint of hassle, a rare gift for him and his friends. Such moments of tranquility were scarce and precious, and they embraced this one with open arms and light hearts.
"Ahhh, this is the life," he sighed, sinking deeper into his chair as his eyes slowly fluttered shut beneath the shade cast by the large umbrella. The warm breeze carried the familiar scent of saltwater, which washed over him like a comforting wave, enhancing his sense of peace.
However, his serenity was abruptly shattered. His eyes snapped open wide with alarm, and his breath came in short, labored gasps. His palms were slick with sweat, and he could feel his teeth grinding together in a nervous rhythm.
"No, NO, it's impossible!" he exclaimed, his voice tinged with disbelief. He quickly glanced up at the sky, the weight of dread settling in his stomach. Without hesitation, his body was enveloped in a brilliant aura of ki, and he propelled himself into the air, urgency driving him as he soared into the vast blue above.
Piccolo stood suspended in the middle of the ocean, relishing the comforting breeze that danced around him. Though it may have appeared as if he were doing nothing, his mind was alive with the echoes of the intense sparring sessions he had endured with Vegeta and Gohan. Each encounter had pushed him to new heights, and he felt his level of strength growing exponentially, prompting him to reflect deeply.
"If I had possessed this amount of power back on Namek, I could've ended Frieza's reign of terror much quicker," he mused, a hint of regret creeping into his thoughts as he mentally chastised himself for not reaching this level sooner.
The gentle breeze caused his cloak to billow softly, a soothing reminder of the tranquil moment he found himself in. For the Namekian warrior, this brief interlude of peace was a welcome respite, but he was acutely aware that such serenity was unlikely to endure.
Suddenly, his eyes snapped open, a spark of realization igniting within him, and a small smile crept across his face. "Huh, I guess Vegeta was right," he murmured, the weight of his thoughts shifting into determination. In an instant, his body erupted into a fierce aura of ki, illuminating the surrounding water. "FRIEZA!!!" he roared, the name echoing with the force of his resolve as he propelled himself skyward, leaving the tranquil ocean behind.
Tien sat in deep meditation beneath the expansive canopy of a towering tree, enveloped in tranquility. Suddenly, he sprang to his feet, moving with a speed that defied human perception. As he darted through the air, each leaf that fell from the branches above was punctured with a perfectly sized hole, a testament to his precision before it could even touch the ground. He paused for a moment, inhaling deeply, savoring the stillness around him. But that serenity was shattered when his body stiffened in shock. "He's back," he whispered, urgency flooding his voice. "Chiaotzu!!!"
The ground beneath him cracked and splintered under the immense pressure of his rising ki, a force so potent it devastated the landscape surrounding him. In an instant, he lifted off the ground, propelled by sheer determination, shooting through the air like a comet. Chiaotzu, ever loyal and attuned to Tien's energy, followed closely behind, offering a nod of acknowledgment that solidified their bond as they prepared to face whatever challenge awaited them.
Vegeta looked to the sky, a smile spreading across his face as he contemplated the unfolding events. At that moment, he realized one fundamental truth about the Dragon Ball series: "Villains always like to talk and not act first." This tendency would ultimately be the undoing of both Frieza and his father, King Cold.
His gaze shifted towards the garden, where he spotted Yamcha and Bulma. Yamcha was staring up at the heavens with an expression of sheer horror, as though he had encountered a ghost or a demon. Meanwhile, Bulma, oblivious to the energy fluctuations around them, struggled to comprehend the gravity of the situation.
"Hmph. Are you just gonna stand there, or are we going?" Vegeta said, his tone dripping with impatience as he started to walk away. Yamcha looked at him as if he had lost his mind, a mix of confusion and disbelief etched on his face.
"Are you seriously going? This is insane! T-this ki is monstrous, far beyond anything I've ever encountered," Yamcha stammered, his voice tinged with fear as he clenched his fists tightly, trying to steady himself.
"What are you talking about, Yamcha? And, Vegeta, where are you going? Take me with you!" Bulma interjected, her eyes darting between the two men, desperate for clarity. She was completely lost, struggling to grasp the significance of their words. Then, Vegeta uttered a name that sent shivers down her spine.
"That is what you expect from Frieza; the other one is probably his father," he remarked, glancing back at them with a smirk that barely concealed his simmering rage. Deep within, however, all he could think about was the overwhelming desire to eliminate the damn lizard once and for all.
"..So this aura is from Frieza. I thought he would die with the planet!" Yamcha nearly screamed, his voice rising in panic as he pounded his fist into his other hand, frustration and fear swirling within him.
Vegeta stopped paying attention to him and went to fly while Bulma was screaming at him to explain. He didn't have the patience right now, he was thinking about how to deal with the midget and his father.
