Chapter 12 - Frieza's Revenge 4

Fury blinded King Cold as he unleashed a Ki Blast that Tien managed to narrowly dodge, but the King didn't let up and continued to release a barrage of blasts.

The ground beneath him exploded, left and right, marking the earth with clusters with debris flying everywhere. Piccolo stayed alert, and positioned himself on the opposite side of King Cold, his mind racing for a strategic way of restricting his movement.

Tien engaged, A chop came down and slammed into King Cold's neck, and the mighty tyrant gave a small smirk, allowing the attack to land as it did no damage whatsoever. Tien's eyes widen managing to make a quick retreat, barely dodging a right hook that could've immediately rendered him unconscious.

"TIEN, MOVE!!" Piccolo roared, sending a concentrated beam of energy toward King Cold. The attack struck true. But the impact was swallowed by an absurd amount of ki having been released from the tyrant.

Tien used the momentary distraction to appear ahead, his multi-form technique splitting him into three identical bodies and unleashing a flurry of attacks at King Cold.

King Cold smirked, unfazed. "Is that all you have?" He raised his arm, and with a flick of his wrist, a massive wave was released hurling Tien's forms into the air before they faded out of existence into nothingness. Tien's real body hit the ground hard, rolling to absorb the impact. He winced, feeling an ache through his bones.

Piccolo landed beside him, extending a hand. "Get up, Tien. We can't afford to lose."

Tien took his friend's hand and sprang back to his feet, determination burning in his eyes. "Alright, but we are out-powered, but it seems he enjoys being a stationary fighter, so we should exploit that."

Piccolo nodded, already formulating a plan. "Let's use our speed against him. I'll create a diversion while you find an opening."

With that, Piccolo launched himself at King Cold, firing ki blasts in rapid succession. Each shot found its mark, but King Cold merely deflected them with casual ease, his hands merely grazing them and sending them bouncing off his hand. Despite the futility, Piccolo pressed on, drawing the tyrant's attention.

Meanwhile, Tien focused and sprouted two arms from his back, while also redoing his multi-form technique creating another of himself. He focused, gathering his ki, and channeling his energy into one of his strongest attacks —the Dodon Ray. His fingers glowed with a fierce light as he aimed it at King Cold.

"Now, Piccolo!" Tien yelled.

Piccolo executed a series of rapid movements, doing and weaving between King Cold's sluggish attacks, drawing him further from Tien. With a final burst of speed, Piccolo vanished and appeared above King Cold, delivering a powerful kick that slightly shook the tyrant.

"Octuple—Dodon Ray!!!" The two Tiens unleashed their Dodon Rays, and the beam of energy streaked through the air with blinding speed. King Cold barely turned in time to see it coming, his body illuminated with ki and he raised his guard. But it wouldn't be enough to remain unharmed.

"Impressive," King Cold growled, his voice laced with icy contempt. "But not enough."

He raised his hand once more, and this time, a circular ball of purple energy came alive and grew bigger with every second.

Tien and Piccolo immediately sensed the danger, Tien's clone having rushed to stop the attack but was defeated with a flick of King Cold's tail.

Piccolo's eyes narrowed as he saw an opportunity. "Tien, cover me! I'm going to try something."

Tien understood immediately and rushed ahead and held a defensive position in front of Piccolo.

Piccolo closed his eyes, focusing intently. His aura began to glow, growing brighter and more intense. Slowly, he lifted his hands, palms facing King Cold. From them, a pulsating sphere of energy began to form, crackling with raw power.

King Cold's eyes widened slightly, recognizing the danger.

He immediately released his attack toward both of them, the sphere gradually lowering itself to consume them.

But Tien wasn't about to them die so easily. He charged forward, using his tri-beam attack to slow the oncoming bringing of death.

"Finish it, Piccolo!" Tien gritted his teeth, straining himself to slow down their incoming doom.

Piccolo's sphere pulsed brighter, becoming nearly blinding. With a deep breath, he released it. The sphere flew towards King Cold, picking up speed as it went. It broke through the purple sphere of energy.

The sphere shattered his technique and crashed into King Cold, enveloping him in a blinding flash of light.

The explosion rocked the battlefield, throwing both Tien and Piccolo to the ground. Dust and debris filled the air, making it impossible to see what had happened. When the dust finally settled, they saw King Cold standing amidst the wreckage, battered but still alive.

"You... dare to hurt me?" King Cold snarled, blood dripping from his lips. His entire body was covered in burns and bruises, a testament to the severity of Piccolo's attack.

Piccolo struggled to his feet, panting heavily. "We're not done yet."

Tien joined him, their spirits unbroken despite the odds. "No, we're just getting started."

King Cold's eyes flashed with rage. "Then come, finish this!"

With a roar, King Cold unleashed a torrent of death beams, each one aimed with deadly precision. Tien and Piccolo split apart, each targeting different angles, trying to outmaneuver their foe.

Tien moved with lightning speed, avoiding the beams with near-impossible agility. He could feel the heat emitting from the beams as they neared his limbs, slowing him down, but he pushed through the pain. He had to find an opening, a way to turn the tide.

As he dodged another set of beams, he noticed something—a slight hesitation in King Cold's attacks. The tyrant was tiring and that made it all the more obvious.

'He's not a fighter, just a guy with power.' He thought, mentally slapping himself for not noticing it sooner.

"Piccolo, engage!" Tien shouted, hoping his friend would listen to his demand.

Piccolo nodded, flashing a quick smile. "Let's end this."

They regrouped briefly, communicating silently. They had to coordinate their next move perfectly. Tien formed a new strategy in his mind, one that played to their combined strengths, exploiting King Cold's lack of skill and mentality.

"On my mark," Piccolo said, his voice steady.

Tien readied himself, focusing all his energy. "Ready."

Piccolo took a deep breath, then launched himself forward, drawing King Cold's attention once more. As expected, King Cold retaliated with a flurry of death beams, but Piccolo was ready. He shifted his trajectory mid-air, dodging the beams with expert precision, closing the distance rapidly.

Tien waited for the right moment. As Piccolo got within striking range, Tien felt the tension reach its peak.

"Now!" Piccolo shouted.

Tien surged forward, reaching incredible speeds. He aimed straight at King Cold's kee, knowing a grounded enemy was easier to fight. King Cold tried to adjust, but Piccolo's presence kept him off balance.

Tien reached him just as King Cold was about to strike Piccolo. He delivered a powerful kick to King Cold's knee, causing the tyrant to falter. King Cold roared in pain, his concentration broken.

Piccolo then slammed into the tyrant's back, sending him flying and crashing into the ground below.

"Keep him down!" Piccolo yelled.

Together, they rained down blows, each one designed to wear down their opponent. King Cold fought back fiercely, but the damage was cumulative. Every punch, every kick, chipped away at his strength.

Finally, Tien saw his chance. He channeled his remaining energy into one final, devastating blow. With a battle cry, he lunged at King Cold, aiming for his heart.

King Cold brought up his arms to block Tien's attack but that had been what they were expecting.

A brutal kick to the head, rocked King Cold's brain as Piccolo suddenly appeared, "DO IT TIEN!!"

"TRI———BEAM!!!!!" at point-blank range, his eyes wide with shock. For a moment, time seemed to stand still.

And like that, an explosion rocked the world.

Smoke covered the area, rending any who looked on oblivious to the state of the fight that had taken place.

The smoke steadily cleared, revealing Tien who stood beside Piccolo, both warriors breathing heavily. They had won, their bodies ached and their energy was nearly depleted.

Piccolo glanced down at the area King Cold had been, then back at Tien. "We did it."

Tien nodded, a weary smile spreading across his face. "Yeah, we did."

As they stood there, victorious but exhausted.
