Chapter 3 - Trunks Saga 2

In just a few days, Vegeta found himself comfortably settled within the bustling Briefs household. Bulma, ever the spirited and feisty one, felt it was necessary to try and belittle him at every turn, playfully hurling all sorts of teasing names his way.

Although Vegeta often brushed off her jabs with an air of cool indifference, there were moments when he couldn't resist the temptation to respond with a teasing quip of his own. These occasional exchanges usually left Bulma momentarily shocked, her eyes widening in disbelief before she would retreat into herself, a small smile creeping onto her lips as if she relished the playful banter between them.

Surprisingly, her parents seemed unfazed by the constant parade of friends and acquaintances their daughter brought home. Instead, they welcomed each visitor with open arms and warm, inviting smiles, cultivating an atmosphere rich with acceptance and camaraderie that enveloped the entire household like a comforting blanket.

The older man, whose weathered face bore the marks of a life well-lived and whose wise demeanor suggested he had weathered many storms, appeared to be nearing the twilight of his life. Yet, he understood that this man would play a crucial role in his journey toward greater strength.

The blonde woman, on the other hand, radiated energy and vitality, embodying the essence of youth in her prime. She effortlessly filled the home with laughter and joy, her spirited presence lifting the spirits of everyone around her. Vegeta had found himself blushing on multiple occasions as he caught glimpses of her, and the effect was only exacerbated by the fact that he had knowledge of NSFW artwork of her on Twitter. The memories of those images would often invade his thoughts, painting vivid, sometimes embarrassing details in his mind that he tried desperately to shake off.

As the majority of the household was occupied assisting the Namekians who had recently arrived, Vegeta found himself preoccupied with a singular mission: locating a specific Namekian he needed to converse with. His focus sharpened, and he navigated through the bustling chaos, determined to find the one individual who could provide could help him.

He flew across the sky, his face scrunched in deep concentration as he attempted to sense the ki of the Namekian who had managed to hold his ground against Frieza for a time.

He spotted him, before descending on the ground, The Namekian sat on top of a boulder, in a meditation pose, his cloak flowing as the breeze graced us with a sweet cool feeling.

"Namekian, or should I say, Piccolo," Vegeta said, his arms crossed tightly over his chest, a posture that radiated impatience and confidence. He stood there, his eyes narrowing slightly as he awaited the Namekian's response, fully aware of the significance of this encounter. The air was thick with anticipation, and he could feel the weight of their shared history lingering between them.

Piccolo turned his head slightly, his green skin glistening under the soft light, "Vegeta, what do you want?"

Vegeta's expression hardened, his voice low and steady, "I'm gonna be straight with you, Namekian. We could have a threat on the level of Frieza coming at any moment."

"WHAT?!" Piccolo immediately stood up, his eyes wide with disbelief, shock plastered onto his face like a mask. "Wha—what do you mean? ANSWER NOW." His sharp teeth ground against one another, the sound echoing his rising tension.

"You wouldn't think Frieza just appeared with thousands of planets under his thumb and a sprawling empire, would you? No, like any other tyrant, he has a father. From what I know and have heard, he's especially close to Frieza, so it wouldn't be farfetched to think he would seek revenge for Kakarot killing his son." Vegeta's voice carried a weight of urgency, knowing the stakes were higher than ever.

"And knowing he had Saiyans under his command, His Father would undoubtedly consider coming after me as well. With his insatiable thirst for revenge, he would surely have his sights set on Earth, fully aware of the detailed reports meticulously saved within his vast archives. Each piece of information would fuel his desire for retribution, making it all too clear that no one would be safe from his wrath."

Piccolo stood there, his eyes wide with disbelief, before he took a moment to steady his racing thoughts and calm himself. "And why should I believe you?" he asked, skepticism lacing his voice.

Vegeta tsked in annoyance, his frustration palpable. "If there is one thing I treasure above all else, it's my life. I wouldn't come to you with such a ridiculous story if it weren't grounded in truth. Even you, a Namekian, must see the logic in what I'm saying. You believe me; you just don't want to accept it because, deep down, it terrifies you." The tension hung heavily in the air, a testament to the gravity of their situation.

Time stretched on as they both stood in silence, the weight of Vegeta's revelation settling heavily between them. Piccolo furrowed his brow, his mind racing with the implications of what had just been said. "And what would you have me do now? If you say he's possibly on the level of Frieza, then we stand no chance. Our greatest hope would be for Goku's return," he explained, his voice laced with a mix of urgency and frustration. The thought of facing such overwhelming power without their strongest ally made him feel vulnerable.

A small smirk curled at the corners of Vegeta's lips, a flicker of confidence shining through the tension. "I've seen you fight, Namekian. We were at least strong enough to hold our ground against Frieza before he transformed," he said, a strange glint sparking in his eyes as if igniting a fire within him. "I propose we train like never before. We should also bring Kakarot's son into the fold; the boy carries Saiyan blood, and he could prove invaluable to our cause."

With a sudden intensity, he raised his hand toward the Namekian, "Now, are you going to stand there like a coward, or are you going to suck it up and join me in this fight?"

Piccolo's teeth gleamed as a genuine smile broke across his face, illuminating the tension of the moment. With a determined leap, he sprang off the boulder, landing beside Vegeta with an agile grace. Gripping Vegeta's hand firmly, "Hmph, I don't know what the hell is wrong with you, but I agree to this madness—though I can't say I hate you any less."
