Before I appeared before Rias and the other devils, I was skipping classes when I was caught by Sona. To say the least, she wasn't happy with all of that and began dragging me to class.
"I thought I was allowed to skip classes," I said with a helpless sigh, to which Sona snorted lightly.
"Pointless skipping of classes isn't something I would allow," Sona said seriously, to which I sighed while following after her.
"You know what's troubling Rias right? You're her best friend," I asked lightly, to which Sona's body tensed, noticing that, proving that she really did know. A part of me just wanted to use my abilities to get to the problem of this, but I stopped myself.
"I'm sorry, but this isn't my place to speak," Sona said in a soft voice, to which I nodded while entering my class.
So, I sat down waiting for the day to go by. I did notice how Kiba came to get Asia for something, and I would be lying if these secrets weren't starting to bug me... but the key to a healthy relationship was understanding. After all, I haven't told Rias I was a devil yet. I was waiting for the right moment to tell her such a thing.
Well, the school came to an end and I headed to work. Although Rias wasn't waiting for me like always to go for our little walk. So, I waited a good few minutes before I realized she wasn't popping up any time soon.
Sighing, I headed off towards the bar. But Sona came running, joining me on the walk. I was about to say something, but paused seeing as she seemed to have come wanting to say something... so I said nothing.
"... Do you believe in magic?" Sona asked in a slow steady voice, she looked straight ahead, unable to look at me. She waited until we were before the bar to say such words.
"Yes..." I said sighing as I realized where this was going.
"Do you really?" Sona asked just to pause seeing my eyes glowing with magical power. She was stunned for some time, the words she planned to say, and everything she wanted to say just falling apart at that moment.
"Let's talk inside," I said with a sigh. I entered the bar, and Sona followed while collecting her thoughts. Her eyes landed on Raynare, who sized Sona up, they never met, so they didn't know each other.
"How is my girlfriend connected with the supernatural world?" I asked while grabbing her some milk to drink, which caused Sona to glare at me. But she couldn't drink alcohol, scared that she couldn't take it.
"..." Sona took a deep breath, and once she released it, behind her appeared her bat-like wings. I paused for a moment seeing that, not expecting it. I mean I could have gotten this information whenever I wanted. After fixing my source, I was running into the problem of sensing what I didn't want to sense, so I fixed it. I was more like weakening myself, to enjoy the simple life I had before 2 weeks later I would step into the world of devils to be their new demon lord.
"So, Rias is a devil... the problems she is facing have to do with devil matters. With how calm you are, it's nothing related to wars... adding the fact she is a spoiled princess, I'm guessing family matters or political matters. So, I'm guessing her family isn't doctors." I said with a sigh, how many lies was our relationship built off?
"The Gremory Clan is one of the Devil Clans of the 72 Pillars and one of the highest-ranking, Rias is next in line to be the clan head," Raynare said lightly, to which I nodded calmly,
"Thanks to the great war, pure-blooded devils are short in number. So, pure-blooded devils have to marry other pure-blooded devils. It's because of this that evil pieces were created, so that they could reincarnate others as low-level devils, but that wasn't enough." Sona said while showing me a chess piece,
'that's because is flawed.' I thought, quickly seeing through the flaws of the so-called evil pieces. If I wanted it, I could have them reincarnate others as super devils or whatever... I didn't know if superdevils were a thing.
"Rias' family had engaged her to get married, and Rias was able to hold off until her 18th birthday, that time limit she gave you was... well, the time she had left to break the engagement. If she hadn't shown that she had a huge improvement in her strength, I was sure that everything could have gone well for her, but I'm not so sure anymore. I don't see Rias escaping this engagement." Sona said lightly,
"Troublesome," I said lightly, to make an arranged marriage and destroy it, this put Rias' family in the wrong. The other party wouldn't just accept such a thing, they had to save face.
"... Riser should be at the school right now," Sona said lightly, to which I frowned while glaring at her.
"I waited until we came here to stop you from doing anything foolish," Sona said to which I rolled my eyes. Sona blinked as a circle grew from my feet, trapping her inside. Before she could even react, she found herself before Kuoh Academy.
"H-how?" Sona said in shock,
"Did you really think you were enough to stop me from doing anything foolish?" I asked with a smirk, Sona had no choice but to lead to where Rias and the others were... well, you knew everything that happened after that...
To say the least, after that, Rias tried to speak with me to explain everything. She was nervous, but I waved her worries off. After all, I was hiding the fact I was a devil. But I didn't tell her I was a devil yet, I wanted to shock her during my match with Riser.
The match between myself and Riser would take place in 12 days, so I spent the remaining 12 days just training Rias' Peerage.
