Chapter 8 : An Unlikely Ally
Determined to tackle my roommates' antics, I sought Josh's counsel.
"Need help dealing with Ryker, Kieran, and Gage?" Josh asked, his expression unreadable.
I nodded. "They're relentless."
Josh leaned against the wall, his voice low. "Sometimes, the best defense is a strategic offense. But first, you need allies."
"Allies?" I repeated.
Josh nodded. "People who'll watch your back. Like Lucas."
"Lucas?" I asked.
"A skilled Technopath from Class 3. He's quiet, observant, and owes me a favor."
Josh led me to the academy's tech lab, where Lucas worked on a complex coding project.
Lucas looked up, his bright blue eyes locking onto mine. "Josh says you need help."
I nodded. "Ryker, Kieran, and Gage are making my life hell."
Lucas's expression turned cold. "I know them. They think they're above the rules."
With Lucas's expertise, we devised a plan to outsmart my roommates.
That night, as Ryker, Kieran, and Gage began their usual pranks, Lucas and I put our strategy into action.
Lucas hacked into the dorm's security system, creating a "ghost loop" that trapped Ryker, Kieran, and Gage in their own illusions.
The three bullies stumbled, confused, as Lucas and I watched from the shadows.
"Thanks, Lucas," I said, grateful.
Lucas smiled, a rare sight. "Josh said you're worth trusting."
With Lucas on my side, I felt a sense of belonging.
For the first time, I saw a glimmer of hope in this chaotic world.
