Chapter 3 : Escape
The darkness of my cell was suffocating, the air thick with tension.
Kael entered, accompanied by a hooded figure. "Tyler, we've discovered your true potential," Kael said, eyes gleaming with excitement. "You possess chaos magic."
My heart sank. What did that mean?
The hooded figure stepped forward, revealing a woman with piercing green eyes. "With chaos magic, we can reshape the world," she said, her voice dripping with ambition.
Kael's smile twisted. "You see, Tyler, the Dark Six has long sought to harness the ultimate power. Chaos magic holds the key. And you, my dear Tyler, are the vessel."
"Why?" I asked, trying to understand.
"Because," Kael began, his voice dripping with conviction, "the world is broken. Weak. And we must rebuild it in our image. With chaos magic, we'll crush opposition, eliminate dissent, and forge a new order."
The hooded woman nodded. "And you, Tyler, are the catalyst. Your body will be discarded, but your power will live on through us."
I felt a chill run down my spine. They intended to kill me.
Emily's expression darkened, her eyes flashing with defiance. "I won't let you," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
In a swift motion, Emily grabbed the hooded woman, pinning her against the wall. "Run, Tyler!" she shouted.
I didn't hesitate. Together, we sprinted through the corridors, dodging guards and leaping over obstacles.
We burst into the night air, the city's neon lights blindingly bright. Emily grasped my hand, leading me through alleys and side streets.
Finally, we stopped at a nondescript building. Emily knocked three times, and the door swung open.
A warm smile greeted us. "Welcome, children. I'm Mrs. Emits. Come in, come in."
We entered a cozy living room, filled with books and strange artifacts. Mrs. Emits listened intently as Emily recounted our story, omitting the chaos magic revelation.
"You're safe now," Mrs. Emits said. "Arcane Academy will protect you."
But as I looked back, I knew the Dark Six would stop at nothing to claim my power.
