Chapter 5 - Chapter 4

It was nightfall when Phillip made it back to Isaril. He decided to circle around the island and find a new spot to hide his sailboat, considering Ax knew where he had hidden it before. Stumbling out of his boat, Phillip walked to his original sleeping spot after hiding it. He was very tired from the days events, regardless of how little they actually were.

And so, he laid down in the his hiding spot, pulling a camouflaged blanket out of his bag he had gotten from a town a few missions ago, and over himself. And his eyes closed and he slowly drifted off to sleep.

 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

It had been yet another week since that day. Phillip had been exploring the island, planning out where he was going to hide, and where he was going to complete his mission. More and more people began showing up around the island, carrying things for the upcoming "event".

Phillip was hiding in a bush, looking out at the people preparing for what seemed to be a party. Tables were being carried out to the stone flat on top of the hill, barrels of wine and others were sweeping the stone flat of leaves and casting spells to get rid of the moss and plants between the cracks. And while it was fun to finally have people going about the island, all Phillip could think was Where in the celestial realm are they getting this stuff? No ships have landed here.

Sort of ignoring the witchcraft going on, Phillip turned around to climb down the hill. He was almost at the bottom of the hill, when he stepped into a bush, and... his foot went right through.

With a grunt of surprise, Phillip tripped onto and over the bush, his legs tangling in the branches of the bush and he fell to the front of the bush. Phillip winced, taking a moment to gather himself after yanking his leg out of the bush. He rolled up his pant leg, examining his scratches, determining they weren't that bad, and he started to stand back up. Halfway up, Phillip paused as he spotted something... something strange from inside the bush.

Slowly, Phillip reached out his hand and pushed the leaves aside and examined the inside. The inside of the bush was hollow, but there was something else. There was also a round piece of glass, and upon closer inspection he realized it was a window that connected to a room. Phillip moved closer, and looked inside the window, squinting to get a better view of the inside.

Inside was a medium sized room lit by torches bolted to the walls, and a wooden door to the left wall. It looked a lot like an office and a bedroom combined, as there was a desk piled with papers on the right, a pin board with papers and string put together and drawers and bookshelves lining the back wall. There was also a full body mirror on the wall opposite to the window along with a cut off of the wall with a bed on the other side of the cut off.

What the... Philip thought. Is... is this what I've been missing? Where everyone has been coming from?

Phillip was very confused, but at the same time it answered his questions. There had to be more under the island, he just had to find and entrance. He was about to pull himself out of the bush and leave, but then the door on the left opened, and in walked the familiar face on the contract paper.

Tora Berg came in, looking calm. She had a more decorated outfit, wearing various pieces of jewelry, her hair was braided to a bun in the back, and the outfit was more of a suit rather than casual clothes. Phillip paused as she walked in, and stayed put, watching through the window. Maybe he could actually learn something.

Tora wandered around to the desk, she picked up a paper and looked at it for about a second before putting it back down. She turned and walked over to the full body mirror. She looked at her reflection, her face softening for a moment, before focusing on tightening her tie. But then Phillip spotted something else.

Tora's reflection was off. Her eyes in the reflection instead of the dark red, were... yellow. Bright, glowing yellow what was only present in her reflection, not in he actual appearance.

Phillip took a second to confirm what he was seeing, looking back and forth from her reflection, to her actual appearance.

...What. Why is her reflection...? The more Phillip thought about it, the less it made sense. That... didn't happen. There was nothing he ever heard of, or read or anything that told of bright glowing eyes in one's reflection of all things. That didn't just happen, not like... not like Phillip's secret.

After taking a long moment to process, Phillip pulled himself out of the bush and walked down the rest of the hill, given something to think about.

Something might happen tonight. he thought.

So I can complete my mission... or everything goes wrong.
