Chapter 25 - Honeymoon is officially over

Shortly after, our honeymoon came to an end. Some people might be sad about it, but I was beyond elated!

Finally, I would be leaving this fucking mansion! I don't know where to go, but as long as I'm not on this island, I am cool with wherever he's taking me.

He dropped the news during dinner yesterday, and I was a bubble of joy just waiting to pop.

If we were back in the city, so many things would change. For example, I wouldn't see him every hour of the day; I'd have my phone back, obviously;

I could even lie and say that I have so much work on my plate that I wouldn't be coming home that night.

I could lie and say that I'm too stressed from work, so I can't cook for him. And then, if he tries to torture me, I will scream so loudly that the whole neighbourhood will want to know what's happening! I guess he wouldn't be that dumb to try anything because there's the press he has to worry about. Since he's quiet and has no scandals, I'm sure he would like his reputation to remain clean.

All these and more I had planned in my head during dinner, so when Rosalie came to wake me up, I was feeling more than energised for the day.

No matter what he throws at me today, my mood will remain the same. I will turn this contract around and make sure he's the one suffering, I swear!

"Ma'am Freya?" I heard a knock on my door.

"Yes! Come in, I'm ready!" I shout. I was dressed in a yellow off-shoulder gown with flower embroidery. It really just brought life back into me. Something I desperately needed these days.

"Then let's be on our way." She smiled as she led me out of the mansion.

It was a beautiful mansion; it's such a shame I didn't have any pleasant memories. Oh, except that night, me and Reiss, you know...

Did the deed

Anyway! I saw him standing close to a helicopter, talking to the guy who would fly us out of here.

"Good morning," I said as I approached them.

He walked towards me and planted a kiss on my forehead, which awkwardly made me flush.

Let me remind you that my body hasn't been the same since I came to this island. Don't judge me. I still hate him.

"Morning," he said. Even with all my anger directed at this man, it couldn't even give him a wrinkle on his forehead.

All my silent prayers for this man to become less attractive by the day just backfire every time I set my eyes on him. It's like it reverses and hits me twice as hard.

His beautiful looks hide his dark nature. All clothed in a simple twin-set shirt and shorts with palm trees and tigers printed on them.

Hmmph! such a cruel yet handsome being.

"Are you ready?" He asked with a raised brow.

"Yes"

"Okay, then, give me the keys."

"You're going to drive this thing?" I asked, eyes wide open.

"Are you scared?" He laughed

"Ugh, shouldn't I be?"

"Don't worry, I can fly," he said more seriously as we got in.

"Okay, bye-bye," I waved at everyone who had come out to see us off.

"We will follow shortly after, sir," I heard Yota say, and Reiss just nodded.

He pushed all the pushable buttons and pulled whatever was pullable. The next thing I knew, we were up in the air, heading for the city...

We got to Reiss's house after noon. It was a lonely path we followed; I would have never thought in all of Saeul a place like this existed. An entire estate was just hidden in this remote area, and it all belonged to him.

Can you believe that?

I'm going to be the lady of an estate!

The big, fat gates opened as the BMW drove in, the street lights illuminating our paths. The sprinklers just happened to be turned on as we drove by, heading towards a roundabout right in front of those big cedar doors.

Everything was exquisite. From the freshly mowed lawn to the trimmed yellow bushes and the square-shaped trees The milk-painted walls, the high windows, and the intricate designs of ancient Egyptians on the doors and entrance

Is Reiss into travelling and ancient history? Or maybe it's just for showoffs.

Probably show off...

The car came to a halt in front of the stairs, and we both got down. Before I could move, the doors opened, revealing a luxurious interior.

The marble floors, the elegant glass stairway, the arched ceilings, and the exquisite mouldings

A fine chandelier with a frosted teardrop crystal hanging atop, a shelf filled with big books towards the end, and a fine piano in the second room

I don't even know if I should say "home sweet home."

Without even dishing out orders, the male servants picked up our bags and took them upstairs.

I was about to follow when Reiss called me back.

"Where do you think you're going?"

"Upstairs??" Why does he need me to state the obvious?

"Come here; I want to talk to you," he said as he walked into another room.

This had better be important because I'm beyond exhausted, and being alone with him in a room gives me shivers.

"Reiss, Honestly, I'm tired, so please make it quick." I sighed as I sat on a sofa.

We were at the fireplace, and there was a cool rocking chair not far from it, and Reiss was seated on it. I would love to sit on that chair and watch the fire with Bernice's hot coco in my palms one day.

One day…

"Rules, that's what I wanted to talk about," he said as he intertwined his hands together.

"More rules? Haven't you had your fun already?" I whined; honestly, I could just die if he told me I couldn't step out of this house; I'd have nothing left to live for.

"Rules are important, so you can show me that you are well groomed enough to leave this house every morning; if you keep to them, we'll have no issues... for now." He smirked

Did he just say for now? So he still intends on making me suffer more? Okay! Okay, I'm not complaining. It's not like I expected any better.

"Okay then, tell me your rules." I crossed my arms, ready to listen.

"Rule number 1.

Don't bring visitors to my house. No fucking person, remember that.

Rule 2

You must be back home before or during the hours of 9 p.m. If it's past nine, you will face severe punishment, and this time I will not listen to your pleas for mercy." I instantly remembered that week of torture, and a flush made its way to my face.

"Rule 3.

You will be back home early to cook for me every Thursday. I don't care how you want to handle it; just make sure it's done.

Rule 4.

For no reason, should you ever come into my room? Unless I call for you, I don't want to see your legs around the corner.

Rule 5

And you must comply. You must have a tracker on you 24/7; not that I need your permission to implant them; I'm just letting you know so it doesn't come as a shocker. Don't ever take it off if you eventually see it."

"You want to keep tabs on me now, Reiss? Make sure I'm not cheating or ratting out some shitty thing about you." I challenged him, which made him huff in response.

"Quite the contrary, it's for safety. Since I've been forced to acknowledge your importance to me, I'll need to know where you are at all times. And I couldn't care less about what you said about me; no one would give you face."

"And you'd be smart enough to know that no one cheats on me; I don't need to remind you of that now, do I?" He smirked, and I buried my face in my hair so he wouldn't see me blushing.

It's true; I doubt if I could leave him for another man based on sexual performance, but I'm still not okay with the monitoring, like? Who could even think of harming me?

"Also, we'll need a story to tell people about how we met, so they don't get too nosy," he sighed.

Well, I have been thinking about it for a while. He has a point.

"We can say you were on a trip and you stopped by to get gas in my area. That's how we met," I said.

"And you were smitten by my charms and I by your beauty and gracious manners. We couldn't resist each other, so we started dating secretly." He continued

"You were unsure if your father would accept me, and I wasn't sure how my parents would handle things." I marvelled at how the story was getting better.

"But unfortunately for us, they found out. But instead of reproaching us, they encouraged our union. So when I popped the question, you didn't hesitate and got married to me on short notice, in the presence of a few special guests."

"Okay then. I think we're done here." I stood up and adjusted my dress.

"Lastly, there's a gala tomorrow night for a children's foundation, and I'll be making an appearance. Make proper use of everything Yota taught you, and do well not to disgrace me." He said

"Pfft! You could have just said you wanted to invite me, your wife, as your plus one idiot," I mumble as I storm out.

"What was that?"

"Nothing!" I yelled before racing up the stairs.

Once I was up in my room, I locked the doors and fell on my bed.

Mann, what a life...

My first ever gala—who would have thought?

Well, I thought when I was in high school that my rich friends would take me, but when we all got into college, they went to private universities, and everyone deserted me. It just made me realise where I came from and how bad I had been to people; it made me change my ways.

Now I'm just thinking about meeting some of those faces again after so long! And also meeting celebrities I'd see on TV.

I never thought I'd grace the screens, talk more about becoming a celebrity, or be married to one.

"Oh shit!" I slapped my cheeks.

Tomorrow is my official introduction to the world as Mrs. Reiss.

Oh my gosh!

Oh my gosh!

Oh my gosh!

Ohh… Don't freak out, Freya.

Meanwhile…

In a dimly lit room, slender but beautiful fingers freshly painted with bright red polish lifted up a wine glass and twirled its contents around.

Seemingly waiting with patience, that was slowly running out for something or someone...

Suddenly, someone horridly barged into the room and whispered so quietly that only he could hear himself.

A big smirk suddenly appears on those bloody red lips as she answers.

"So he has returned, huh?"
