The garden lights dimmed as the party began to wind down, leaving a dreamy haze over the celebration. I stumbled slightly as Bella giggled beside me, her arm slung loosely around my shoulder. Regan was laughing so loudly it seemed like the entire academy could hear him. Chloe leaned against a nearby pillar, her flushed cheeks indicating she was just as far gone as the rest of us.
I laughed at something Regan said, though I couldn't even remember what it was. The champagne had gone straight to my head, and now every thought felt like a blur.
"Alright, Regan," a deep, commanding voice said as two familiar figures stepped forward. It was Regan's parents. His father grabbed him firmly by the shoulder while his mother gave him a pointed look.
"Nooo," Regan slurred, stumbling as his parents began to guide him away. "I wanna stayyyy... Ariaaa! Back me up here!"
